Agree. He's a genius, just lived below the shadow of Paganini. When talking abt the virtuoso violinist composer, u usually can listen ans like Paganini, Wieniawski, Sarasate, sometimes Ysaye and Tartini, but almost no one will say Ernst in their first few answers. Sad
@@SisselOnline Ernst was a great composer, better violinist. He just didn't have as much of an impact as Paganini and the others. One could argue he was a better violinist than Paganini, considering he learnt Nel Cor Più Non Mi Sento just from hearing it in Paganini's concerts, but once again, he didn't have as much of an impact, as Paganini révolutionized violin playing, and Ernst kind of just followed along.
Ok after listening to the opera, this transcription seems a bit... musically insufficient in representing the ideas of the respective themes... though that may be on lupu... Nonetheless a very beautiful work!
Indeed Lupu is a great and wonderful violinist, but his higher register doesn't sound very powerful, and his staccati are often very unclear; and there the piano will overpower him.
Ernst is soooooooo good
Agree.

Wow at least you did have listened to the opera xD
Ernst is a flashlight to violin after all, so can expect not deep enough
Kinda wish the violin wasn't overpowered by the piano sometimes
