the 3rd movement is a gem. i remember being scared when i opened up the score to that page. it taught me how effective efficient practicing really was. practice your scales in double stops and your arpeggios!!!

Amici della musica ,hai hai ,cosa ci imbattiamo ,da violinista mancato,mi mancano questi capricci ,assai difficili per i continui cambi d'arco o passaggi virtuosistici ,questi sono più di natura didattica ,interessanti dal punto di vista di studio uno sciogli braccio per il riscaldamento dei muscoli ,accordi misti ai cambi darco poi vi saluto se poi ci mettiamo 8 note legate tra loro condito con altrettanta velocità lo rende incredibilmente difficile .

If this is an orchestration of Klughardt's Sextet than than Sextet must be bursting at the seams ! This is great. I would love to hear that Sextet. Its an absolute crime that Klughardt's music has fallen into near oblivion. He is a top notch ,tier one composer in my book. For 50 years i never heard him on radio or concert or chamber music halls. Never saw tecordings of his music in the big chain record/CD stores or the mom and pop used tecord/CD stores. And this is in NYC ! This is beyond tragic. Klughardt is way too great to let go by the wayside. Isn't there a piano concerto that can be revived by him ? Any Choral music ? I'm so thrilled that at age 70 years i have discovered this magnificent Romantic music ! Long live Klughardt !,(and me too for that matter !)

Berio era veramente eclettico 💖💖💖💖💖

Striking is the polyphonic nature of the orchestral part and the continuous modulating. One expects a piece in e minor of that age to stay in nearby keys but this one doesn't, it is all over the place. Not to mention the violin solo, I am not a violinist so can hardly judge but it looks just as virtuosic as much later concerto's by Brahms, Bruch etc. Certainly a very appealing work, a shame it is not performed more often.
