Had a gsx750f 600, 750 {teapots} a few years ago. Since then I have had a Triumph Daytona 595 which I blew up but a stunning looking bike, Honda VFR750, A Yammie FZR exup, 2 x triumph sprints, a ducati st4, honda pan st1100, Mk1 bandit 1200 & have now dropped back down to an absolutely mint Black GSX750F which I picked up with a full years mot for £900 _2 months ago}. I can honestly say this bike is more enjoyable than all the above. I am now 58 but it is so light compared to my others and with its noisy Akrapovic exhaust it does make me smile. Must say, it is one of the most underestimated bikes ever and will take you to 150mph (allegedly} quite easily!!!. Seriously, if you ever get a chance of buying one of these.....go for it!!!....Absolutely love it!!!
I have a 98 katana here in Australia but they badge it as a gsxf750 here, I love it. Only thing I don't like it the vibration from the slip on. But it's a great bike you do feel the weight of it through the Twisties but if you are a good rider that doesn't slow you down. Definitely has the power and torque but I don't think it would pass the 600r bikes from today. I use it for touring and fits my need perfectly, it will sit at a comfortable 130kph all day long. Great video mate.
I bought a gen 1 in '95 new. That bike was a little quicker than the gen 2 like this one but this model had a little more mid range. The engine is a slightly de tuned version of the first gen GSXR 750 motor and mine made just right at 100 hp stock. Doesn't sound like that much now days, but that engine was a race proven winner and it was very durable. Handling was decent for the day but not on par with the cutting edge sport bikes. Brakes were good. I went on a couple of long distance tours on in from central TX to NM and CO. It was more comfortable than the pure sport bikes I went with but after about 18 months I sold it for a more up right standard. I once had it up to 135 (calculated from the tach) on a straight stretch of bumpy NM two lane. Damn was that dumb.
These were a BARGAIN when I was in College I think new they were ~$7K. They got no respect and were called the "can o' tuna" because the GSX-R 750 and ZX-7R (most popular bikes on campus circa Y2K) absolutely destroyed these things in the performance dept. But they cost $3K more and were far more expensive to insure; for the money these Katanas were pretty damn good. Plus the Air/Oil Cooled Suzuki engine is about as bulletproof as you can get. I always wished Suzuki would've put the 1100 in this generation of bike.
Great review. I've always loved this bike and I'm actually looking to buy one in the next week (2004 model, 750, very low km's and its a deep blue. Good buy in Australia for $5k).... Cheers.
I believe riding a motor cycle exceeding 99 MPH is a felony in CA. Now! But having said that Ca highway 62 North bound just off I-10 has a long stretch that you can see 20 miles or so. Perfect place to air one out. Just watch gas gauge. If you don't the closest gas is the one you left when you got off I 10. One other thing. A California compliant motor cycle gas tank holds less gas than say one you bought in Indiana. So yes be aware that you only get 22 MPG at max speed on a 1995 GSX750F. That is well beyond 100 MPH. You got to do it once. But Forney does to like restrict that kind of fun' So get a job and pay taxes and be nice. Stay safe so you can be around to pay more taxes. It also only holds 3.4 gallons for Forney CAFE specs. 4.5 gallons elsewhere. You run out RPMs at 160 MPH. But go 3 teeth smaller on the rear or 1 tooth bigger on the front. You go further on a tank and faster than you want to be riding a motorcycle. I put 70,000 miles on a "95. But I went even higher 1 bigger on the front and 3 less on the back. I only went back to stock when I was in San Francisco. Don't take much throttle with the stock sprockets to pull the front wheel up. NOT a good idea from a stop going uphill. But it is easier on the clutch. I always used Mobile One. Yes I know Suzuki says don't do it. They sell replacement motor cycles. Most MC mechanics wont even touch a Suzuki kitty kat above 45,000 because it is supposed to be wore out. BUT I quit riding. Cell phones are not your friend. My brother T- boned a caddy. Yep she was on the phone. He was on a Aspencade. He hit the B pillar. Drivers side 3-4 inches forward. Both ended up in the hospital. Has riding days ended. Closed head injury. She got broken ribs. Totaled the Caddy bent it about 2 feet sideways. And the Aspencade also was scrap. mechanical speedo. Stuck at 54. Speed limit 55. No tire marks from the motorcycle.
Over in the uk they are called gsx 750 f I have a 1998 model in black with a scorpion exhaust I’ve had it for 5 years now and I haven’t had any issues other than the petrol tank rusting from the inside out but got a new tank and all is amazing now
most bikes do have an 'off' position on the fuel petcock so you can run the carb dry without more fuel coming in for storing. that is what he meant. nice try, though.
ras 47 so when you turn on your bike, the movement of the piston in the cylinder creates a suction, this suction is used to open the petcock and allow fuel to flow. Once the bike is off, there is still gas in the lines, but it’s not freely flowing anymore.
I bought one a few months ago and enjoyed her for a short time, buying mods etc and then the old gal died and I had to sell as a non runner! The only bug bear, apart from a sticking choke lever under the panel, was that me being 5:10 my legs were too long! So my lower back and legs suffered after 40 minutes! Great bike otherwise for the shorter rider! If you get one, do a carb clean (sonic) and you'll be one happy rider!
Tell those idiots vehicles were oiled cooled for years before water cooled. Those oil cooled vehicles are still on the road or drive-able to this very day with no issues. It wasn't until they water cooled that vehicles started breaking down like crazy. Plus its a Sport touring bike meant to ride a long distance and the suzuki manufacturers tested it to the max.
Thankfully the owner was riding the bike during the wheelies and such! If you have any legitimate advice on what would make it better feel free to help out. Always open to criticism!

Brilliant on a long run . I drove 500 miles in a day was so comfortable . I was left feeling this is a dam good machine . Would have another any day .
How tall are you mate?

First bike I have taken through corners. It's not the quickest but it's not slow and hella comfortable for a sports tourer.
Beautiful sound of engine. Honey to my ears ;)
That bike looked pretty worthy to me always liked the body style that year
I have the 2001 kat 750, love the bike, i'm impressed with the wheelies that's a heavy bike
That man is well trained on this bike! He owned it since college so he had some practice on that bike :)

Here in UK this bike is known as the GSXF 750.
Picking one up this weekend, a 2003 model in lovely clean condition for £700 - Can't wait!
Damn that's very cheap!
Too cheap
Bought mine for £600 all running no scratches at all paint faded slightly minter even now
Awww damn! Such a beautiful bike. I had a '99 750 in the same color. Loved it! This video brought back sweet memories.

They are an awesome bike to ride that is for sure! Thanks for checking out the video, glad you found it and I appreciate the kind words. Cheers!!
5k doesn't sound a good price for a 2004 model, but idk how much these are actual worth in Australia haha.

Hello my friend, I have the same bike. Is it possible for you to tell me where is the site for selling consumable parts for it, model 2004?
Hopefully next week my license and pick up my 750 gsx f cant wait greetings
Bike has a vacuum regulated fuel petcock so it shuts off when bike is off.

@@deanmcevoy5191 hey explain more on that please

Nice bike , old school fun
"Hi folks, here's my mates bike....watch me flog the guts outta of his bike" LOL, this is how a bike review should be.
Love the Katana my first real bike
sounds like the clutch is slipping
My Katana 750 looks exactly like that, except for the slip on exhaust!
is it super fast no ,but its quick enough, I would say it's got some pep in it's step
What exhaust is it?
No cornering? It's well-balanced and reliable but a bit heavy.
Is a touring motorcyle, not meant for track like several Gsxr models
I have an 06 750 n can't get the throttle back together to save my ass n it sucks
Sounds great
Here in Brazil we call this Katana of "MÔNICA" and the old than this we call Mikey Mouse Suzuki 👏🏼👍🏼🇺🇲😂🤣🇧🇷

Nice review, but please don't get down that hard from a wheelie, it will kill your front suspension in no time :/
