The Katana used to be called "ugly".. Even Ryan of Fortnine didn't like the geometry of he old versions this bike.. But today, it is one of the best looking bikes in my opinion.. A humble beast..
I can't, I just can't. These new ones, tho, I really like. They really did a good job integrating that front fairing into the body. BUT, I think they're playing it a little safe with the design lol It looks more like a adv now.
I love how the digital dash looks. It reminds me of those sci-fi and action animes back in the 90's and early 2000's. Anime lovers would love the shape of this bike
I like how the MotoDeal dude was able to admit that how you feel on a bike is important..ie. do you feel cool on the bike. nice to see someone admit what we all know is true. Thanks for review.
One thing different from the Katana is that for the price point, it's still a pretty rudimentary bike compared to other models which are basically computers on wheels. Absolute beauty. I heard the 2022 model does have bi-directional quickshifters and ride by wire. I understand the previous version had cable actuated stuff which I kinda dig.
@@SushiArmageddon interesting. May I ask what year model? The thing I like about the Katana is that it's still a bare bones bike in terms of tech. Not a lot of complicated computers in the bike, just the rider and the engine which sounds glorious when revved
best reviews in my opinion. you show yourself from the side while riding, unlike most reviewers who stick camera on the helmet. Way more informative this way.
Those things you wish that already updated on their 2022 version except on TFT display, however they put it on their updated V-Strom 1050DE and their new Parallel Twin bikes. I think you should review the GSX-S 1000GT next.
suzuki didn't come out with the 2022 version of this thing coz they wanna sell out the old stock here in pinas. they should just sell it at a loss already.
3:52 I disagree. The dash was designed to look a little bit cyberpunk 80's style. It was not supposed to look like the BMW screen. I will continue enjoying your video but under slight protest.
I was told a long time ago that my '78 GS750E had the engine the '82 was based on. The speedo on mine only goes to 140 so I honestly have no idea what the top speed is. B ut it sure as hell isn't the 125 Suzuki claimed. Like Chrysler and the 426 hemi.
Basically a Suzuki GSX-S950(the budget 1000 in the EU),with a 12litre tank and a styling exercise...hard to justify the price secondhand, as it costs the exact same to get it unrestricted (only 130bhp at the rear wheel) as the 950,and it has a big tank? £8295 for a brand new(preregistration) 950 here, £7999 for a 4yr old Katana with a samurai pack with 2500mls on the clock....worth it,not at that price?
buen día, esta moto es muy bonita pero hay que mejorar la autonomía porque esos 12 litro de capacidad no alcanzan para nada, y también actualizar la pantalla por una nueva TFT de mejor tama;o ...!!!
i didn't know the Katana's body work was Italian designed.....i was going to say, that is Suzuki's best looking bike....what is that, Pininferina?.... the SV-650 takes a more classic design close second, but the Katana has the refined neo-modern look.
One of the best looking bikes imo, I would love to buy it but pity they make the fuel tank so small :(. Every ~150km you gotta look for gas station. It do is disqualifying. The old katana had 22 litres! The new one should have at least 17 litres. I don't mind old dash, lack of quick shifter (for me the less and easier electronics the better), just let suzuki make it with bigger fuel tank.
I really wanted to like this bike, lots of good deals available. In person I didnt like the fit and finish, bars are too high and it didn’t look like you could put lower ones on, lots of cables etc… just looked too budget. Looked at a cb1000r and in person it was a night and day difference.
@@CrisCraig I also have a z900rs so I didn’t want basically the same platform, mt10 was my next choice, I think the engine is much better on the mt10, but I like the styling much more on the cb, so it came down to form or function, since there weren’t any new mt10’ s available in my area I went with the Honda, but I still wonder if a Yamaha had been available I likely would have went that way.
the stock dunlop roadster tyres that comes with the 2020 katanas are trash !!! It didn't just worn off just after 6-7 months of riding, it has the worse grip on wet surfaces.
had one... bought a Brand new 2020 Katana 1000. I had the total BLACK version..... total shit bike. 75 miles on the bike and the clutch disk turned to putty.. literally. put clutch particle all thru the crank case. Suzuki service said I got screwed,, they would NOT fix it... BRAND NEW BIKE. i traded the bike back to the dealer I bought it from, i got a GSX-S750. I now have a GSX-S1000 GT Plus.. MUCH BETTER BIKE.
The Original is and will remain a style icon, this is just a lame excuse by Suzuki to try and cash in on the retro craze with a bike that looks like it fell out the top of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down to the floor. A shocking abomination that vies for the title of ugliest ever with the B-King, Hondas eleven and any Hardly Going Son ever made....What is that tail end guard number plate all about????
The perfect cyberpunk bike for Metro Manila's dystopian streets.
HAHAHA as a city cop i approved this
The Katana used to be called "ugly".. Even Ryan of Fortnine didn't like the geometry of he old versions this bike.. But today, it is one of the best looking bikes in my opinion.. A humble beast..
For me the old katana , the first one, is one of the most beautiful bikes ever made. Also that new version looks stunning to me!
this is beautiful bike.. looks like coming from retro sci-fi ( bladerunner, AKIRA).. I love this version design

A fugly beast and I'm in love. 😊
One hell of a bike. We need more square headlight retro/neo-retro designed bikes.

Exactly....stands out snd feels super retro.I hate the new OLED tv looking screens that distract you from actually riding.
One of the best bike reviewers on TH-cam. Congrats for your channel. Kind regards from Spain!
I like how the MotoDeal dude was able to admit that how you feel on a bike is important..ie. do you feel cool on the bike. nice to see someone admit what we all know is true. Thanks for review.
Crazy that the dash went over your head. Clearly, this was a retro-inspired bike, and the dash follows the aesthetic.
This is my current bike. The transmission is very smooth, a quickshifter is hardly required.

All i can say is what a bike, always feel special riding it 🤍
I love mine, looks amazing, comfortable, agile. Crossed Australia on it. Best bike I've owned

that sure has that retro feel with the rectangular headlights and front assembly
I installed the Rizoma handlebar stub kit on my Katana. Fits perfectly with the retro look and the seating position is more sporty. I love it.
Any photos?

I really like the new Katana and that engine must be one of the best Suzuki 4-cylinders.
Cheers from Luxembourg!
I Love that bike. Great review, it's refreshing when someone gives their honest opinion and points out the flaws.
Underrated streetfighter.
Best looking naked sports i've seen so far! 💯
More Japanes bikes in the future please 😁✌🏻
It's so gorgeous and definitely has that katana dna.🖤
Nice review!
the best review i ve seen
congrats from Greece
Thats a fine looking bike for sure!
Love your BGM. 90s style

In a world where every bike looks the same- this is very refreshing. Gorgeous bike.
honestly the headlight of this bike is right in between my love and hate line. But it is definately unique and suzuki
Easily the best review I've seen of this bike, great work guys 👏
Only thing is it makes me want this bike even more than what I already do! 😂
Good review, an iconic design for sure . Yeah I grew up in the 80’s lol
Nice review. Ganda palagi ng pagkakagawa.
Bagay na bagay yung helmet
sa katana 🔥🔥🔥
awesome review man!!! Regards from Mexico primo!!
In 90's The Suzuki katana was branded as the ugly duckling but when you ride it's a beautiful beast
It is pretty futuristic for the 80's
Good review as always and If your in Philippines can you please review the 2023 Z1000, please? 🥺
Love from India

What's that watch your wearing? Great video btw!
How you liking those Handroids? I bought mine ages ago. And they’ve been sitting on the shelf. Because I found them really bulky feeling.
But the old katana has the clip ons
I hate tft displays so i actually really appreciate lcd. I would actually pay more for analog if modern bikes had option like that
Can you review also Gsx s1000 thankyou 😁
Very nice review sir.., unique talaga. Suzuki engine..alams na. Belong xa sa mga idol ko na engine kawasaki honda suzuki

Solid katana
If it had a 18l tank I would buy it tomorrow. 12l is RIDICULOUS.
Get one made on the subframe, not difficult
Parang motorcycle version nung DMC sa back to the future movie.
The perfect cyberpunk bike
Honestly it's the fuel tank and lack of cruise control that have me looking at other bikes. Trivial? Probably, but I do travel a lot
The new model has cruise control but the tank capacity is still the same obviously
My fabricator would make you a subframe auxiliary tank...cruise is available aftermarket, as is a Q/S!
A modern popup head light version would be nice.
Yeah, that thing's dope.

You kinda glossed over the DNA of this bike. The original Katana was famed for it's "stability at high speeds," hence the namesake.
😍😍
It reminds me of the V Max in so many ways but it was the star of Mad Max and V Max was created from the movie.

Really ? ! Sombody who has been riding about 1 year should not be getting on a 150 bhp liter bike.
