You are great for beginners, Now only I can understand these things... appature, shutter speed and ISO, BUT what is this grading showing on camera display as (-3 -2 ...0 ... +2 +3)? I'm really confused
That's your exposure display - 0 in theory is the right exposure, + 1 is one stop of light over exposed, and -1 is one stop of light under exposed. But 0 is rarely the right exposure, so sometimes you'll shoot to + 1 or -1 (or +2 etc!) depending on what you're photographing!
@@tarekistan1614 Because that then leads onto an discussion about metering, which is separate from exposure, but like everything in photography, linked. So in our full step by step program, we move through everything in order, and each video links on the last. So we learn about the exposure triangle, then go deeper into each element (this was just a really high level overview) shooting in different modes, then we talk about metering for exposure (which is what that display is!) when to shoot over and under, histograms and so on and so on and so on. That's why it's really hard to learn photography from start to finish from TH-cam videos or blog posts (and why so many people take courses!) as you're only ever getting a snapshot from a video, never the whole thing! We do our best to provide really good free content, but obviously it's absolutely nowhere near as good as taking our courses!
Hi im just getting to grips with manual and have a question.I set my ss at 200-250th of a sec ( using 70-200 2.8 lens )my aperture at 5.6 and my iso at 100.When i take a shot it looks good, but find the expo meter is erratic when i move or turn around to take a shot in the opposite direction( . and i find myself raising my ss to get my expo meter centred again ).Am i doing something wrong,if so could you let me know.I really want to get to grips with it and think im most of the way there except for this tiny problem.
Live Snap Love I thought that might be the case but needed confirmation.Thank you for your reply. Will keep watching this video so its fully understood.
@@LiveSnapLove sorry just one more question, when shooting indoors i use a 70-200 2.8 lens with my ss at 1/250th my apeture at 2.8 and find im raising my iso up to 5000 to get a good exposure.Does this sound crazy as this will obviously affect quality.I really dont want to drop my ss so is there an easy way without going to such a high iso range.
This was great. It would be helpful that when you share photo examples that you show what settings you used. Just a thought. Thanks for your help!
Hi there! I have a blog post with eight images and my settings! Check it out here: livesnaplove.com/blog/photos-with-camera-settings

@@LiveSnapLove great, thank you very much
But then, why it is not on the triangle you talked about in this video?

Darryl Stubbs Whenver you turn you are changing the light getting into the camera, so you’d need to re-meter and adjust your settings!
