Nice explanation and happily with no indian accent. Calming voice, calming classical music and straightforward explanation makes the waited process of suffer into pleasure. Like!
Damn, when I go to insert, there is no option for "feature". It doesn't exist in my SW 2020. I added the parts into an assembly. Mated the surfaces and have the parts lined up how I want them, but I just have no option of any kind to combine them. I've watched several videos and they ALL have the same directions, but I have no way to follow them without having the options in my solidworks.
Is there an easy way to merge parts and eliminate the gap between them? I got a car geometry and I need to merge it all into one solid, but there are gaps between all the parts :/
hank you i want to put vortex generators in wind turbine blade and i have a problem in geometry because the surface of the blade have curvature and i cant put the VG on it can you help me
If the solid bodies are" not physically connected " is there a way to make that happen? I am VERY new to SW's, fairly fluent in AutoCAD 2D. I build a model that looks great, but I NEED to fillet between two areas and I get the exact same error you show at the end of his tutorial that says; "Unable to create single body that is he sum of the input bodies." No hair left...
I appreciate the security concerns you mentioned. What about something I download, like a whole prime mover, and I want certain parts of it to use on another project. There appears to be no solid models folder to look at it in a couple I downloaded. There just seems to be one big part.
When I try to save as a part file, it gives me the prompt, "This operation is not supported because it will create invalid geometry (the bounding box of the geometry cannot be greater than 1000 meters)." However, my model is no bigger than 5x4x1 inches.
when i select the parts to combine and give ok it shows me " it would result in a zero thickness geometry" and exits from the combine mode. what can i do ?
If anyone is having trouble with this in SW2016 or the combined solid just won't appear, when you make the assembly insert another random part and place it away from the solids you want to combine, or after you have saved is as part add a new part before combining, or after you have combined the solids works too, then you'll see 2 solids, the combined solid and the random part you inserted, then you can click the combined solid and insert it in a new part. For this to work all solids must be touching or intersecting, if they are "floating" it won't work, so maybe you'll have to make some extrusions in between to add a physical connection. Also, if you want to combine say 3 solids and 2 of them are connected by the remaining 1, if you try to combine all in one sitting you may get an error message, try making the whole combined solid by combining 2 solids that touch each other at a time until you combine everything, for example if you want to combine a led, you 1 lens and 2 legs, because the legs are not touching (yet) if you select the 3 solids may be you get an error, so select the lens and one leg, combine that, then combine the combined solid and the remaining leg. And finally, once the combined solid opens in a new window save that (preferably with a new name and add some appearance or modify it) and say yes to whatever you must save, if you don't, the file won't be completely independent of the part file and when you delete the part file the combined file will have errors and won't show properly and SW will ask for the part file.
Brothgar how to merge two solids which are touching at multiple faces at 'selected face only' Combine features eliminates all interfaces which is not desirable.
How would I go about combining bodies with zero thickness? I converted my assembly to a part file and cannot access the merge result option under the extrude property manager as such.
I found that having fillets in my parts was the cause of this problem. Everything worked out after I changed the fillets to sharp edges. This is very unfortunate.
I LOVE YOU MAN! spent 3 hours trying to get this done and FINALLY!!
Nice explanation and happily with no indian accent. Calming voice, calming classical music and straightforward explanation makes the waited process of suffer into pleasure. Like!
Very helpful. The combine feature helped with all of my current projects.
bro thanks man, i literally spent lots of days on this.
Thank you brother you've helped me out big time
Nice! Tks!
*But when i do Combine, the Solid Bodies section disappears.. Is there another way to get to Insert to New Part?
This hack solved my issue! Thank you so much!
so if I have multiple parts how do I merge them all together into one piece so I can 3D print the whole thing in one piece

Thanks!

Sir Where is the option of ''Solid Bodies" Below the option of ''Annotation'' in SolidWorks 2018
Please Inform me that as early As Possible. Thanks
when i tried this, error shows : unable to create single body that is some of the input bodies
Very helpful video!

i am unable to make the ( insert in to new part ) move , i cant find the 1 solid folder, can you please help me?
Exactly what I was wondering (first half), thank you!
Help, the solid body menu-where the combine results take place is dissapearing. I cant make the result into new part
Done thanks, i add another part i don't use, so the tabs Will still be there. Because if theres no multiple bodies, the tab is gone with the combine
Thanks, this was very helpful
Hi, i make a little machine, but all in part.
How i make a assemblage for this part?
THanks, this was very helpful :D!
thank you so much for great and clear video
when i combine it works but i am left without the solid body of the combination. the tab itself seems to dissapear
