    That’s a nice Fury. Probably one of if not the most honest test drive videos I’ve ever seen. Refreshing to see a sales pitch where flaws are revealed and honesty rules. That’s goes a long way with me. I would definitely buy a car from this seller.

    You would think that if the previous owners would go to the extent to build such beautiful cars, they would take more pride in the mechanical aspects and take care of the leaks. This is the 3rd one that has a rear main seal leak, transmission tail shaft seal leak, and rear pinion leak. Good rust inhibitors, but they cause headaches down the line. 2 of the seals are easy to access and rather easy to replace. The only seal that is a bit of a pain to replace is the pinion seal and bushing on the diff. That's only do to having to tear the rear diff apart and pulling the pinion in order to replace the seal and bushings.

      Looks like it’s all original so I’m sure some of those seals are 54 years old. They dry up and shrink with age.....like us.

    • @Sandman1832
      @Sandman1832 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@johnp1040 Doesn't matter how old they are, it's pure laziness and causes major issues down the road, especially a trans seal leak or pinion leak. You can keep dumping oil in the engine, as long as there is oil, there won't be an issue other than the rear main leaking. Trans leaks cause major expensive issues, and so do rear differential leaks, around $3,000 of headaches in parts and labor. Trans leaks will also cause the pressure in the pump to drop which will decrease lubrication to the bushings and the internals. You are only looking at $30-$50 in seals and bushings, maybe $400-$500 in labor, that is far cheaper than having to rebuild a rear diff and transmission down the line. Hopefully the new owner will address these issues, I know I would.

    We had a 1966 Fury III when I was in high school. It had a 383 engine. I remember it being pretty fast and riding very smooth. I drove it sometimes as a teenager and I remember the power steering and the power brakes to be very sensitive to the touch. It took some getting used to but was a real nice car.

    Here's a SAD, TRUE, TALE (you will CRY, I DID!) In November, 1972, I was 16 years "old", I had a chance to buy a "65 "Sport Fury" (black, red vinyl top, black interior, vinyl, with a few splits on the drivers' seat), console automatic, factory tach and wheels, "383" (very healthy), three MINOR rust spots, for $295! I had a CRAPPY '63 Rambler they would NOT give me more than $60 for (on trade)! I would need permission, from my parents, to get "financing" at $12.75 PER MONTH! My Dad, EVER A GOOD GUY, agreed as soon as I asked, but the car SOLD that same evening!
