  • This is Jacob-Rees Mogg, a British conservative Conservative politician, who has just become the Leader of the House of Commons under Boris Johnson’s government. He wants to ban common words like “very”, “hopefully”, “equal”, “lot” and “got”. So I made a diss track using all of his banned words. Rap Roasts episode 6! Floccinaucinihilipilification!

      @alex6027 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Improperly convey meaning?Many of the standards he sets on the list are incredibly superficial.
      Words like very are just modifiers to show increased severity. And how could words like “equal” improperly convey meaning? It’s a very clear term

    • @waahaah861

      @@alex6027 Its what he said you ask him. Anyway, it's his style sheet, if he feels as if the use of some words doesn't suit how he wants to convey his messages then that's what he thinks. We have our own style sheets we use subconsciously it's not anything special, Its just that he has people that write for him and this is his indication of how he wants his messages written, it's not that impressive nor should it be controversial.

       Frank Spencer For one you generalized a section of the society; I think it's dumb to say "every celebrity is X" because the statement inst true, its an idiotic hyperbole. Secondly, your first statement isn't representative of any real meaning because celebrities are within public view leading to the unfair recognition of a disproportionate amount of frivolous people when compared to other groups. Also, what do you mean by "they are hailed as being a great libertarian" I find this statement quite ironic because the whole meaning of a Libertarian is someone who wants individual liberties and I hardly think to want the restriction of speech to be an ideal of a "great" Libertarian? For the record, JRM isn't a Libertarian he's a classic Tory. Lastly, it's quite unreasonable to say he has "none of the worries of common people", I hardly think your difference in political opinions quantifies enough of a reason to make such a statement. Frankly Frank, you should know better.

      And what makes you think that he wouldn't prefer it if his guidelines applied to everyone? Think about it: Why doesn't he want his staff to use these words? Because he thinks the rules he learned in whatever public school he went to in the 18th century should not be changed, and the words that were used then should be used in the exact same way now. If you know of another possible reason to impose these specific rules, I'd like to hear it.
      If the common upper-class twit had the power to impose these rules on the general populace, I don't doubt that he wouldn't hesitate.

      If Rees-mogg's intention was to cut down on over-used nothing phrases, question dodging, and inefficiency, it would discuss over-used nothing phrases, question dodging, and inefficiency in its rule suggestions. Arbitrarily "banning" words reduces efficiency, justifies question dodging, and enforces use of nothing phrases.
      It is time to face the facts. Rees-mogg is incapable of thought, and the sounds from its face hole are not language but simply the random flappings of its diseased and windy larynx.
