    It's great to see one of those 1981 - 1982 square bodies with the single headlamps again because they're super rare nowadays.

    • @SallysSpeedShop
      @SallysSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You definitely don’t see them very often, but I love how tough they look!

      @@SallysSpeedShop but I do still see some of the 1985 - 1987 ones with the dual headlamps on the roads. Believe it or not, the last time I saw one of those 1981 - 1982 ones with the single headlamps on the road was 16 years ago. Wow!

      @@SallysSpeedShop those square body models were produced from 1973 through 1991, except for the regular cab pickups like that red three quarter ton one there. The half ton & three quarter ton ones were discontinued in 1987, & the one ton ones were discontinued in 1989. In 1987, the C/K series were dropped on all of the models & renamed R/V series to make a distinction between them & the new upcoming OBS pickups for the 1988 model year because both of those body designs were gonna be in production at the same time which lasted up through 1991. The OBSs were the new C/K series.

    • @kevinrichards3288
      @kevinrichards3288 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SallysSpeedShop those square body pickups are the third generation C/K series pickups, the square body Suburbans are the seventh generation Suburbans, & the square body K5 Blazers & Jimmys are the second generation K5 Blazers & Jimmys. The OBS pickups are the fourth generation C/K series pickups. What's interesting is the one ton regular cab pickups were the only models with both the square body & OBS body designs produced at the same time which was from 1988 - 1989.

    Eyyyy I'm doing an LS '81-'82 C20 too! Factory RHD assembled in Australia, has a Holden body ID tag! They're such good trucks aren't they, nice and simple. Don't mind the comments about the time delay, absolutely spot on to focus on the truck not videos for power tour, it was a polished unit during the tour it seems. Super cool vibe you've got, hope you keep it up :) Cheers from Victoria, Australia.

    Yep. About any of Detroit's 6s are bulletproof in my experience. My first truck was a 64 Chevy with a 250 that would piston slap until she got fully warm. A smoker. Always started. Same with a Ford 300. Could almost blow on the key and she'd fire. Knowing what that service bed looked like on Power Tour I'm looking forward to see how much work it took to get it cleaned up , painted, and ready.

      It’s hard to compete with the reliability, efficiency, and power you get out of them hence why they’re so popular. Would it help if I told you we found the engine that went into it in a ditch on the side of the interstate? 😅
