She’s definitely a keeper please keep it as the channel truck with this story and condition to me it’s priceless good job on buying it and best of luck to you and your family
You should drive it to the original dealer if they are still in business and let them see it. I did that once with an old car that was in good condition and the guy that sold it over 25 years before was still there and and was very happy to see it still on the road!
Man does that ever take me back! I had a 1984 K5 Chevy blazer four-wheel drive. It was black top and bottom with red in the middle add red interior like that truck. The sad thing is my dad only sold it about 15 years ago and it kills me to think why I did not buy it from him and keep it
I've got a 1985 K5 Blazer. 14 years ago I picked it up in stock condition, running and driving with some rust in the usual places for $1500. I've spent a lot of time and money making it nice. It's just got something special about it.
I had an 87 model that I sold in 2000 for only $4K and it was in amazing shape. I wish I kept it, they are going for big bucks now in good shape. Mine had a mildly built 5.7, 4 wheel disc brake with a Ford 9" rear differential and looked like new. It was a beast!
A great fine, for being 40 years old it's in great shape. Bet that truck was garage kept, and the owner took care of it. 10 grand is a fair price for that truck, it's a keeper. Don't be a fool in selling it.
Hey Randy, while I never cease to be amazed by the things you bring to the channel every once in a while, you sure so of your personal feelings that makes me even more impressed with you as a person! Your feelings regarding the previous owner of the truck I truly appreciate I truly appreciate! I too, can visualize this truck on his ranch and his life there! this goes beyond the spectacular contact you bring to the channel that shows such quality of character! Thank you so much for enriching my days!
That looks great. Be careful someone might steal it. I had an 86 Sierra Classic that belonged to my father. Had it repainted, bought tires and rims. Looked good, ran like shit. Someone stole it. I was planning to put a new crate motor in it. The funny thing is it needed new brakes,. Put some air tags on it. People want the square bodies.
That is the best purchase you have made since I have been watching your channel. That is absolutely the best truck to drive around in. It takes me back to the days when my grandfather driving me and my sister around everywhere. The sound of the whistle from the window brings back very fond memories. Take care of that truck, it is special
You have found a special truck. When the previous owner bought it, he probably figured it would be his last vehicle and lovingly used it. Now it's yours to lovingly keep and pass on a legacy. Can't think of a better new owner! Enjoy your new toy, life is short and goes by fast....
What a cool find Randy 💯🔥🔥.Og square body in remarkable shape. You got a score for that price IMO🫡👍. RIP to the owner 😔 we cant take with us, when we go🙏
Randy, I think you got an awesome deal on that. What a story that that truck can tell you and just putting a few dollars into it, get ready a Ram. And just drive that red truck. I think it'll tow just fine, love your show
Got me an old 84 it belonged to my grandpas dad then got passed down to me it was originally used as a forest service truck has 2 fuel tanks has had a few problems but it runs like a dream
On the corner windows, before replacing the rubbers, try tightening the retention screw. Often they get loose and don't hold the window against the weather rubber. Quick fix as usually it isn't the rubber that fails. You may have to replace the screw if it's stripped. The screw is generic and easily replaced by something you have in the workshop.
Randy, the screws on the front base of the carb, turn them all way in by hand, do not use a screw driver, count how many full turns, and then back them both out to 1 full turn, Edelbrock dvd that comes with them recommends 1 1/4 turns , but you can get away with 1 turn on each, then adjust the idle screw and take it for a drive. , it's either gonna do better or it won't, but at least you can put it back way it was if that don't work, but try that before spending the money on a new carb or a rebuild kit
I'd call the price not out of the ballpark, but the seller definitely got all the money. The cheaper ones you found will get above that really quick once you start addressing all their issues, plus all the time you will be out doing the work. I had one basically just like it & with trailer brakes, & it was perfectly adequate for hauling even large vehicles for long distances. I did move a bobcat with it once, and while I survived, I wouldn't recommend following in my footsteps on that particular bright idea, but even things like 70's caddys, fullsize pickups, etc. it did with no issue.
I think that’s a good chunk of change for that truck. But, you are going to do good things with it and the honor you are paying to the previous owner is heartwarming. 👍❤️😊
Change out all the fluids, filters, have the seat recovered, rotate or replace all five tires, tune it up and either drive it yourself till the wheels fall off or sell it for twice what you have in it after all of the above maintenance is taken care of. That is the last generation of GM trucks worth the title "work truck". There are a number of those trucks, the same color as yours as well as red and white, and blue and white/silver still on the road and working hard as ever in our rather rural area. The damn things just won't die! By the way the U.S. military owned a butt ton load of those trucks in the 80s with both gas and diesel engines along with 3/4ton Blazers/CUTVs.
What he said. Also put bedliner in the truck. You could get $20K for it on BaT. BTW, we can see right through you. You KNOW you got a great deal in the truck. That is just a ploy to get more comments on your YT video.
I feel you got a good deal. You should fix the old truck up and put it to work sell the Ram because look at the money you could save monthly. Use the money you save and finish up your uncle’s house. Would really like to see that house get some love put into it. Really enjoy when you and Mike travel there.
She’s a beauty Randy! Shows her age well! WoW original paperwork too incredible! you definitely got a good deal on the truck not many around in this original condition. Hope you do use it for towing.
Hi Randy, Congrats on the new truck and she sounds absolutely great😁 im sure the owner would appreciate where his car has gone to because even though he may not be there anymore, his soul lives on this truck❤
Think you got a fair deal on the truck Randy. Not great, but not bad either, especially being a one owner. Unfortunate they pulled the vacuum hoses, cruise module and kick down. Would probably be not a lot to re-add those, maybe under a thousand.
As long as you bought what you like and wanted, you got a good deal. Looking forward to seeing the truck in future videos. Also, I like your appreciation for history.
What a beautiful rig man, my dream truck for sure. Here in maine it's hard to find them not all rotting. Unless you pay 20k great find man. R.i.p to the og owner and for taking amazing care of his truck. You can tell it was his pride and joy❤
Hey Randy you should go to Vice Grip Garage and get the hoodie saver for it so that you don't end up with hood flex light and to keep the hood looking good forever
Hey Randy, the truck was a great buy. They are coming back in price big-time watch the auto auctions like Mecum. and can’t wait for the Monte Carlo bill. Either those two are my go to most excited ones!
The way you talk about the truck the excitement in your voice. That was a great deal. I would definitely have bought that truck three-quarter ton 350 well taken care of probably garage kept the way it looks that is an awesome truck. Congratulations. Most people might not give that much money for it but I’m a truck guy and I love nostalgia and storage just like you said and I would definitely got that truck. Congratulations. Enjoy it do not sell that truck.
God bless you for remembering the former owner of this truck. Many people may not care to remember, but you must have had good family morals to live by like we all need today.
Omg my dad had a 74 model of that truck it was yellow like the stanley steamer trucks were back then man love the truck and love seeing these trucks still driving around today!!❤
@Auto Auction Rebuilds Yes you are right the truck was Painted back in 2005. I want to say November 2005, and the man left it as he was out of town in the oil field for 4 years and the Owner of the shop didnt care as we had the space on the car lot in the back. it was nice to see it again.
I love the truck! I think you did ok on the deal. I have my first truck still it's a 77 k25. It will be my sons when he's 16. He's 12 now. Nothing like an old square body
Now that is a sweet Chevy C20 Randy! If you do replace your Ram with that it would be pretty cool once you get it running right. Love the color combo as well and how original it is. Truck is a gem and has some great character to it! Awesome score and sweet deal!👍
I like it Randy! That truck is so original! So cool! It's hard to find a truck that old in good condition. The price? Maybe a little on the higher side, but if you are going after an original unit in that good of shape, under 100,000 miles, that's what you are going to pay. I think you did good! It will make a great work/towing truck for you. A hell of a lot cheaper to own than the Ram, that's for sure! I'm looking forward to the videos coming up on this truck.
I have a couple of suggestions for your C-20, Randy: 1) For some of the parts, LMC Truck is a pretty good source to buy from. Side note: I have a sneaky suspicion that some of the parts they sell are made by the last company (RePops) my late step-dad worked for in Mena, Arkansas. 2) To reduce the chance of the transmission "hunting for gears" when towing, leave it in 3rd gear. It will extend the life of that survivor of a transmission.
Condolences to the family. Randy if it was a good deal to you then it’s a good deal. You like the truck. Those square bodies are bringing the money at auction.
Love that truck Randy. I am so glad you like older vehicles as they have their place in American history. They were all made really well also. Sure even with the older foreign vehicles which are much sought after too.
Hello Randy, right about the 3 minute mark when you opened the door, it looks like red paint on the striker. So there was some kind of paint work done.
That trailer brake controller is the old school type that applies the trailer brake when you step on the brake pedal in the vehicle. I have used these in the past and they worked well. They are a lot more trouble to install than the newer types.
This was a really good buy and I am sure that you will get good money back from a collector or someone who loves Chevy's like me and you will not have to spend a heap of money on it and looking at the paint its all original. Try putting a bottle of Fuel Injector Cleaner in the fuel tank and it will get rid of the roughness. Its really a good looking truck and here in Australia these trucks go for good prices up around $20,000 Plus.
Sounds like a fair price for a survivor vehicle. You can basically restore everything on it Lmc truck catalog has everything. I think it deserves the name " Wally or Wallace" tribute to it's a original owner . I'm heart felt when it comes to stories. It's a beautiful truck red / grey paint scheme is amazing.
Randy I think it's a good truck and yeah you paid all of the money for the truck but it's a good truck for the money plus the one owner is what sold me I like it can't wait to see more of it on the channel
The red over spray on the door latch says there was at least some spray painting in that area. I would recover that seat before the foam goes bad. I think 10K was a good deal considering the price of pickups right now. The nice thing about a clear fuel filter is that you can see if it gets nasty especially when the vehicle has been sitting for awhile.
Great looking truck! I think you paid a fair price for it. With the originality and condition of everything you can tell it was taken car of well. Carburetor issues and wiring to trailer are all easy fixes.
Last year I got an 85 Sierra k20 5.7 fully loaded 72k 1 owner it had power everything cruise ac an fm speaking of radio keep playing with the volume knob it'll will eventually start working and paying 10k total for yours great deal on Texas with shotie body work wanting 16k in Kerrville tx I laughed but 10k and looks that great good deal I got mine by simply finding a no start issue on a Ford and fixing it. Needed new ground for fuel pump 3 dollar fix and I got the truck in trade. Now he offered me the truck to fix his before I seen the Ford and I was wanting that gmc truck for over 10yrsi told him no I only had 30 minutes into the total work on his Ford but he refused days he's a man of his word
if you decide you wanna sell it, im definitely interested! i grew up with square body chevy trucks! my best memories in my life were made driving my 85 GMC short bed, or driving my grandfather around in his 86 short bed Silverado! that truck reminds me alot of his truck even though its a long bed 3/4 ton. his was red with red interior. my GMC was two tone red and tan with a red interior!
Hey Randy, I just saw your video on your new truck that you got the red one. I think you got a great deal on it and I can’t wait to see what you got coming Ford I saw that you got some parts are ready for but I can’t wait to see the progress video that you got coming on this new truck that you got. I’m happy that you’re happy about your new truck. I know I think you like I said I think you got a great deal on it so. perennial, I guess I’ll talk to you later and have a good day. Just keep the Contant coming on everything that you’re doing because like I said before I watch every video that you have coming out because I absolutely love the stuff that you do I know we haven’t met, but it feels like I’m a part of you in these videos because I really like you and I really like your attitude. It’s very fun for me to watch what you do so I just want to tell you do you have i’ll talk to you soon take it easy man
Don't use WD40 on the rubber wing seals. I use silicone spray and it renews the rubber and keeps it soft and flexible. Good deal, its only money....on the c20 that is.
I had an 83 with a 454 gasoline engine. First year converted from diesel. Enjoy it, but don't abuse it. Replacement regulars are ...starters, drive shaft carrier bearing, and brake pads.
The red flannel shirt and baseball cap are the perfect accessories for this truck . 😊As far as the price is concerned, anything cheaper would be baffed out junk , you made good score
Kind of like that song Riding With Private Malone
Exactly!
That's a good tune by David Ball
Thought that too.
Randy you found a gem! One owner is rare for a 80s chevy!
Worth! Every! Penny! There only original once!
That downshift and roar brings back great memories.
Miss the old school body vehicles
Same here
You clearly enjoy the truck. That has its own value.
She’s definitely a keeper please keep it as the channel truck with this story and condition to me it’s priceless good job on buying it and best of luck to you and your family
Rest in peace Wally. Condolences to the family. Once you get her running right, she will be a workhorse.
Nothing looks better than those wheels, I love those wheels and hub caps soooooo much!
You should drive it to the original dealer if they are still in business and let them see it. I did that once with an old car that was in good condition and the guy that sold it over 25 years before was still there and and was very happy to see it still on the road!
Damn good idea !! That'd make my month to see something like this time piece.
It is all good you feel connected to him because you bought his truck.😊
Good morning Randy. The 1984 Chevrolet Silverado C20 is a great looking truck. It's got its original paint. It runs and drives good.
Man does that ever take me back! I had a 1984 K5 Chevy blazer four-wheel drive. It was black top and bottom with red in the middle add red interior like that truck. The sad thing is my dad only sold it about 15 years ago and it kills me to think why I did not buy it from him and keep it

He'll eventually sell it. One day it'll be parked and then he sells it because it just sits on his lot and it is too nice collecting dust.
Randy, you made a GREAT deal. Bring this truck back to its former glory.
Just watched Mr Haynes video. One word… Wow! Thanks for sharing his story and beautiful truck Randy.
700R4 trans GREAT option. The extra gear is Huge.
That looks great. Be careful someone might steal it. I had an 86 Sierra Classic that belonged to my father. Had it repainted, bought tires and rims. Looked good, ran like shit. Someone stole it. Wow what a gergeous square body you have found, that is all original paint... 😊👌👍
That truck was in a garage all it’s life that’s why it looks so good
You have found a special truck. When the previous owner bought it, he probably figured it would be his last vehicle and lovingly used it. Now it's yours to lovingly keep and pass on a legacy. Can't think of a better new owner! Enjoy your new toy, life is short and goes by fast....

Looks like that truck is in great condition to be an 84. Good looking truck!
Brother in law bought one that sat in garage over 20 yrs with 27k miles on it,
Theres nothing more beautiful than an old squarebody. I've got a 83 Chevy K10 myself, and i love that thing :)
Who Doesn't believe Randy anymore when he says, "I'm keeping this one" LoL Great looking pickup & Great video Randy! Keep up the Great work sir!!
When randy says he’s keeping a vehicle, in his terms that means a couple of months until he gets bored and moves onto the next vehicle.
Got me an old 84 it belonged to my grandpas dad then got passed down to me it was originally used as a forest service truck has 2 fuel tanks has had a few problems but it runs like a dream
Put petroleum jelly on the seal it will help it seal plus bring life back into it
My dad bought me a brand new one in 1977 for high school graduation.
That's a great deal in my opinion, it's in such a good condition. I think you scored great Randy, keep up the good content!

I love those old bumpers
I think that’s a good chunk of change for that truck. But, you are going to do good things with it and the honor you are paying to the previous owner is heartwarming. 👍❤️😊
You did just fine on the price of the truck man. Love the truck and the videos and as always, TY Randy.
Hi Randy, Congrats on the new truck and she sounds absolutely great😁 im sure the owner would appreciate where his car has gone to because even though he may not be there anymore, his soul lives on this truck❤

thats a great deal Rebuilds, you did it again 💯👍 Again, I love that ELR Randy
What a beautiful rig man, my dream truck for sure. Here in maine it's hard to find them not all rotting. Unless you pay 20k great find man. R.i.p to the og owner and for taking amazing care of his truck. You can tell it was his pride and joy❤
Hey Randy you should go to Vice Grip Garage and get the hoodie saver for it so that you don't end up with hood flex light and to keep the hood looking good forever
I'd LOVE to see a video on you installing the Edelbrock AVS2 on the C20! I've been thinking of getting one to replace my Quadrajet!
You got a great deal. I just saw a 1987 chev 3/4 sold at the auction today, sold for 20,000, which wasn't much better.
@Auto Auction Rebuilds Yes you are right the truck was Painted back in 2005. I want to say November 2005, and the man left it as he was out of town in the oil field for 4 years and the Owner of the shop didnt care as we had the space on the car lot in the back. it was nice to see it again.
You need to keep this one Randy. In addition, you have the life story of the vehicle. Amazing deal as well, I think this old girl is meant for you!!!!
Awesome truck! Please take good care of her!! She deserves to be respected.
Randy I think you did pretty good. Here in Arizona a truck in that shape would go for 15k to 20k. So you did good.
I love the truck! I think you did ok on the deal. I have my first truck still it's a 77 k25. It will be my sons when he's 16. He's 12 now. Nothing like an old square body
That is the best thing i have seen you bring home. It most definitely deserves a trip to the auto spa
Now that is a sweet Chevy C20 Randy! If you do replace your Ram with that it would be pretty cool once you get it running right. Love the color combo as well and how original it is. Truck is a gem and has some great character to it! Awesome score and sweet deal!👍
Love that square body great truck buddy
I like it Randy! That truck is so original! So cool! It's hard to find a truck that old in good condition.
The price? Maybe a little on the higher side, but if you are going after an original unit in that good of shape, under 100,000 miles, that's what you are going to pay. I think you did good!
It will make a great work/towing truck for you. A hell of a lot cheaper to own than the Ram, that's for sure!
I'm looking forward to the videos coming up on this truck.
I have a couple of suggestions for your C-20, Randy:
1) For some of the parts, LMC Truck is a pretty good source to buy from.

Try putting a bottle of Fuel Injector Cleaner in the fuel tank and it will get rid of the roughness.
Its really a good looking truck and here in Australia these trucks go for good prices up around $20,000 Plus.
Awsome deal and truck, a gem😍🔥😎
You got a great deal on the Chevy pick up truck Randy. Awesome history behind the truck.
You stole that thing. Absolutely.
I think you got a very good deal on it. Cause I had a 84 step side. With the same specs. But mine was not payment
Man what a beautiful truck. You definitely scored a hell of a deal on this one. That thing would really pop with some paint correction for sure.
Sounds like a fair price for a survivor vehicle. You can basically restore everything on it Lmc truck catalog has everything. I think it deserves the name " Wally or Wallace" tribute to it's a original owner . I'm heart felt when it comes to stories. It's a beautiful truck red / grey paint scheme is amazing.
ive been awaiting this vid since you put up the community post! hell yeah its beautiful
Love the truck! I don't think you got a bad deal on it. Give her some love and drive it and enjoy it.
The square body has made a come back. Its priceless in my eyes keep it and drive it!!!
Great Buy on that truck Randy and Yes I had one new. Those are fine trucks and are only going up in Value.
Super nice truck Randy. The values of these are on fire right now. Charge the AC with R12 and there is your tow vehicle.
I like the truck Randy, I used to have a black one just like it that I bought back in 84 and loved it. I wish I still had it today. ☺️👍
I think you did well on that truck…its a classic and in excellent shape
I was guessing 10k. Great original truck! I worked at Chevrolet in the 80s and drove those so often. Definitely worth taking it to Brian!
The first thing I thought when I saw this truck was that Smeding performance engine but then it wouldn’t be original. Nice find Randy.
You got your money's worth, plus. It is very hard to find a square body with cab corners and rockers.
How well I know. Done several much newer Chevrolet trucks with blown rockers and cab corners. Doesn't help that I am here in Upper Michigan. 😊
He may get 5-6k when he'll decide to sell it 3 weeks later
if you decide you wanna sell it, im definitely interested! i grew up with square body chevy trucks! my best memories in my life were made driving my 85 GMC short bed, or driving my grandfather around in his 86 short bed Silverado! that truck reminds me alot of his truck even though its a long bed 3/4 ton. his was red with red interior. my GMC was two tone red and tan with a red interior!
That C20 is gorgeous Randy enjoy that thing!!
You can still get r12. Mine was cycling like that. It needed quite a bit to fill it up but it works great now
Hey Randy I love the new truck. I think you got a good deal on it
Good morning. Good to see you again.😊👍
That's honestly a good buy there hard to find and it's in beautiful shape
That Paper with pricing is the original Dealer Invoice. Shows cost on everything. Hug Chevrolet must have gave it to him when he bought it. RIP Wally
Hey Randy, Love the truck I think you should fix it up and keep it for your self.
You should logo the doors with AAR and make a great shop/tow truck
The red flannel shirt and baseball cap are the perfect accessories for this truck . 😊As far as the price is concerned, anything cheaper would be baffed out junk , you made good score
