Some of y’all acting like you never heard of clickbait before lol this song is not better than the original but it’s good in it’s own right. A cover doesn’t have to capture the essence of the original; it’s supposed to be the artist who’s covering the song, take it and make it their own.
Also, pretty sure some of y’all hate mgk either cuz the em thing or just don’t like him, so y’all just don’t like the song for that reason. This cover is very good, sonically.

No, I'll be honest, I'm not an MGK fan. It has nothing to do with the Em thing as I honestly don't care, but I prefer MGK on stuff with Yelawolf like the song Rowdy. But, this is a cover and what he wants to do cool. It's just not my vibe.
@@Subs1338 That's an interesting question and a very good one. And I'm split about it as say I liked R Kelly's music, but don't care for him as a person and it made me view him differently. Therefore, him as a person has overshadowed how I feel about his music. Is a person their art and their art the person?

I love the cover. I think it honors the original (which he loves) and still turns it into something that fits him perfectly. So far the overwhelming feedback has been positive. Most people seem to disagree based on the reactions and the fact that the last album was on the charts for over a year, is Platinum, and won multiple awards. You're not implying this is pop punk? I mean Travis Barker seems to think he's good and I'd venture he has more experience than you in the genre. But then again, not sure why we're so worried about genres anyway, and expressing our negative opinions when we don't like something. That thumbnail got me! I was like, "better than the original?" Is Ernest trippin'. Its not nearly as nuanced and as moving as the original. For me, its all right. Im glad you included the last part of the video. So basically, you took it as a cover from a Frank fan that took a more creative approach than to just sing the song like how Frank sung it. Meaning that its not really competing against the original and in that context, Im inclined to agree that its an interesting take with some highs and lows. Its not a bad cover and I would give it a 7 personally.
