My cousin has one of these and needed to sell it in ‘08 for financial reasons. He offered it to my dad so it stayed in the family and my dad said no. I still haven’t forgiven him.
I had a similar experience with my Dad (several rungs down the cool ladder from there) he got a black TRD Solara new in ‘00 with the TRD wheels, suspension, exhaust, body kit, short throw shifter… but not the supercharger! I was pretty pissed about it, but like Jakub said… I get it now 🥲
I distinctly remember reading a copy of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords with a Sonic Blue 03 terminator on the cover in grade 12 math class telling myself I had to have one some day. This was a lot of high school kids dream car. 😊
@@itsreallyjakub Redfire coupe. 56k miles. No accidents, pretty clean, last owner took good care of it. When I bought it, all it had done to it was a cold air intake, 2.8 pulley, and a Borla cat back exhaust. Since I bought it a year ago all I’ve done to it is changed the shifter to an MGW, I put on 315 rear tires, H&R Race springs, and I bought the LMR replica chrome wheels. Mine came with the stock machined 5 spokes but I liked the look of the chromes better. I only plan on tinting the windows and then I think I’m done mod wise. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if in years I do a cam or upgrade the blower to a Kenne Bell or Whipple 🤣

Congrats! As a SN95 lover and owner myself people don’t know these cars are the sweet spot of a true modern Mustang. Also I’d love to see more old car reviews from you guys

I remember going over and sitting in the mystic chrome cobras and the 10th anniversary’s! I remember my first ride in a 03 cobra. Been hooked since (and before).
As someone who has owned 2 of these, I have to say they are just wonderfully raw beasts and a lot of fun. Are they perfect, even for 2003?? Of course not. They are heavy. The clutch is a pain. God help you if you get any moisture under the tires. The interiors look and feel like they were ordered from Wish. But you can mod them to the absolute outer limits of your wallet. Being a man of a certain age, my high school dream car is a 1969 Highland Green (or Wimbledon White) Mustang Mach 1, 2+2. I actually had 1 green over black, and 1 white over blue 1969 fastbacks in high school. Both rust buckets and paid less than $500 for each one. What a blast cruising Telegraph with buddies in their Nova’s, Chevelle’s, Camaro’s, Road Runners, etc. Harry still has his 1967 red Mustang fastback that his father bought new as a Ford employee outside of Detroit. Thanks for the memories!

I almost bought an 08 Shelby a few weeks ago. It only had 13k miles on it. But the dealership had a 2022 model with the performance package, plus a roush stage 2 package w/ supercharger on it pushing 750hp. I went with the newer model. It only had 10k miles on it. That 08 Shelby was nice, but I sold a few days right after I turned it down. I imagine that year Shelby w/ a supercharger would be throwing out around 830hp or better. It was white with the blue stripe, even had the Shelby signature on the dash. I'm not a big fan of the white/blue even though that's the classic paint scheme for those cars. I did test drive it. Rode nice. But my 2022 supercharged gt with roush pipes is insane (for me as a novice mustang owner).
I went to a car meet in a parking garage and I saw a dude chain smoking cigarettes in front of his Terminator. It immediately felt like a side quest out of a racing game. He told me where "Mexico" was, I went, and got a ride in his Terminator. There is nothing like the sound of a Terminator. The perfect mix of supercharger whine and V8 noises. They are so cool and a great deal in the market right now.
The Cobra is awesome! Weeee! Thanks for the Cobra history lesson, for some reason I thought the Terminator name came from the movie Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines released in 2003. 🤷♂😆 Your new nickname should be Terminator Jakub.
I bought a 99 Cobra off the showroom, got the fix done, went to a .modular mustang shootout in Cecil county MD, came in 2nd, lost to a 93 Cobra. Couple months later traded it in on a 00 Civic Si, and never looked back. Currently in an FL5....side note, my dial in at the drag racing event was 13.74, in 90 degree heat, middle of the day. Broke out last race because it was late night and cooler, so I went faster trying to catch the 93. He ran his dial in. So the 99 Cobra was able to run mid 13s. The irs was the big issue with the first new edge Cobras. I blew a half shaft after the event, on the street,. The Termys are the best.
Ahh streetfire... those were the days 🥲 I remember that exact video too. I always loved the almost "hollow thump" of the exhaust on snakebite2, which all Terminators had with two large pipes out back.
I appreciate you making note of the drone noise. I had to actually turn down my subwoofer so that I could hear you guys talking. That being said - STELLAR SNAG! The Terminators are hands down the best bang for buck in that timeframe. Easy 10's with some easy mods + driver mod. GOOD LUCK! Be safe!
Congrats! It’s never to late to complete some dreams. The closest thing me and my friends had during that time was dad’s 03 convertible GT. What a great car. They still have it too. Garage queen.
Great video as always crew. My favorite car. I was a service porter at Greenway Ford in Orlando circa 2003. I loved seeing these coming up service drive. I'd run to them so I could drive them. Great memories.
Appreciate the acknowledgement of John Colletti's work on the S95 Mustangs and Cobras. Without him, there is no V8 Mustang, let alone The Terminator. A true car guy, in my book, he is right up there with Zora Arkus Duntov and Bob Lutz; guys who loved cars with alot of power and handling. Michael Kranefuss is another Mustang legend, who developed the SVO Mustang. Ford was fortunate to have Colletti, who ably took the SVO program and upped it with what started as SVT. I think the New Edge Mustangs look better than the retro and later designs and hold their own, even today.
Definitely an iconic car. Owner since 2006. Black, old school KB 2.2 (like snakebite 😉) with all supporting mods, lowered on black CCW. Love it. Enjoy the car my friend. 🤝
The best Mustang ever! The second was the Mach 1. I remember hearing one of these on the freeway in 2003 snapped my head over and saw the cobra in mystic chrome. Loved it!
I had this same exact car!!! Had the smaller pulley, tune, and exhaust!!! Car was crazy fast. Drove it a Pocono raceway for a charity event with the Porsche club
congrats! i owned a DSG 03 cobra brand new love that car sold it for almost what i bought it for still one of the best cars i have owned. stock I dynoed 472hp to the wheels. i did a pulley, exhaust, filter and suspension mods. don't forget the pulley tensioner add on when so you don't get pulley slip. the six speed tremec was also one of those really special items that this car had.
And underrated from Ford, right from the factory. Ford claimed 390bhp, but in reality they were making 390+ to the rear wheels. Quite a big difference. The Terminator will always be one of my most favorite Mustangs.
Honestly it's so cool to see you go after a childhood dream. Both of you guys should do the same. Buy some barn out in the country and buy a bunch of old cool cars that you all wanted as a kid.
Good stuff. This was a high school dream car for so many of us. Loved seeing how into this Jakub was and how Yuri's face lit up when he got behind the wheel! Welcome to the club!
I was 13 when these were released. I remember riding my bike up to the Ford dealership down the street from our house and seeing these lined up in the parking lot. I wish I had taken a photo!
Jacob is living my childhood dream to a "T" . "Snake bite" was my favorite / most iconic mustang video to watch on TH-cam back in high school!! Watching the start of this video, brought the video up in my head almost immediately!! Fantastic find!! Can't wait to see what you do with it!!
The first car I really ever drove on the street was my brother-in-law's '96 cobra. I was 14. Fast forward a couple years later in HS and my buddy got to borrow a deployed neighbors Terminator for a few months. I had my dad's 911, my other buddy had his dad's classic fiat and we'd go ripping around.
I’ve owned 2 of these beasts and they are the best mustang ever made! Guys complain about the interior and the clutch but I love both!! If you complain about the clutch then I guess you’re just a softy or used to driving a Miata! This car has such a raw feeling like a really pissed off supercharged go kart with a body kit on it!! The engine is bullet proof but sadly everything around the motor isn’t! Fuel system is weak, the 03’ has a head flow problem and the frame between the motor rusts out.. other than that this car is unstoppable!!🔥
Love it! I’m from the same era and I recently picked up an 03 Cobra with 2,400 original miles. Had to replace the original tires when I got it. It’s absolutely mint and I, like you, love it.
Just sold my 10th anniversary 03 Cobra, Torch red, built motor, cams, 2.6 kenne bell. Liked the car but wasn’t for me lol. It was always one of those “I want one cars” for me too so had to have it at some point. Congrats man!
Mine had a 3.1 upper and 6lb lower…but you would need to port the blower. Pulled about 17 at peak…I love my cobra! Great purchase! I’ll be documenting the build on my channel after the z06 is done
Finding a Terminator with the independent rear suspension is rare. Most people who bought these cars wanted to drag race them, and swapped in a solid rear axle.
Great and informative video. I definitely look at the SN95 Mustang in a new light now. I never really appreciated it because I felt that the design language was more suitable as a standard Ford V8 rather than the traditional Mustang look. Jakub’s excitement is extremely contagious.
love it i had my 400hp 1990 fox and my buddy got sick of me beating him in his sn95 so he went and bought a 03 cobra and go figure it dynos stock 460 at the rear wheels which blew all of our minds
@@The-fs5wnmore like 360-380 rwhp on a dynojet. I've seen some as high as 390 but that's pushing it anything 400 anything is a very happy dyno. They do 460 with intake exhaust pulley tune though which is pretty simple stuff.
@midnight34YES I AGREE MY 04 COBRA WITH JUST A CATBACK DYNOED 380HP AND 375TQ BOTH AT THE TIRE LOL I DONT KNOW WHERE HE WAS GETTING THOSE CRAZY NOT TRUE NUMBERS BUT FOR BACK IN 03 THEY WERE CRAZY AHEAD OF THE TIMES
Congrats! I bought my ZL1 a couple months ago for the same reason. Having the ability to take your kids and wife to shows is great. If I was a single guy it would have been a corvette lol.
My older brother bought this one brand new in July 2002. It was Sonic Blue and one of the first one in show rooms. He negotiated with the sales team for hours until they agreed on $32,000
Id take a boss 302 over that and a c5. BUT they are legends from when I was a teenager. TERMINATOR AND C6Z were king back then. Great era of cars in the early 2000's
I always thought the new edge mustangs were trash since every high school girl had a v6 model and the GTs were slow but the Terminator always stood apart from them. From the start I liked and respected the 03 Cobras. They aged like fine wine too since for whatever reason there aren't many new edge stangs on the road no matter what engine they had.
My first car was a base model New Edge Mustang I bought bagging groceries in high school and all I ever dreamed about was how badly I wanted a Terminator.
This brings back memories of a guy I’d always see along with the Snakebite 2 video that could do a spot impersonation of an 03-04 Cobra flying by. Good times.
1979-2004 is when the Fox platform was used for the that gen of the Stang and it was the longest running platform thru the whole 80s and 90s then for 5 years from 2000-2004 it was a great run
Bought my cobra in 2019 after grinding all winter. It arrived a day before my 19th birthday and it had a five finger death punch cd in the radio, and a cigarette burn in the back seat 😂
I'm starting to film the Cobra mods TODAY!

Ahh streetfire... those were the days 🥲
I remember that exact video too. I always loved the almost "hollow thump" of the exhaust on snakebite2, which all Terminators had with two large pipes out back.
Classic. Mine has that now with the new exhaust I just installed
@@TheStraightPipes Heck yeah! Grats on the purchase and build.
I appreciate you making note of the drone noise. I had to actually turn down my subwoofer so that I could hear you guys talking.
That being said - STELLAR SNAG! The Terminators are hands down the best bang for buck in that timeframe. Easy 10's with some easy mods + driver mod. GOOD LUCK! Be safe!
Who remembers that old slow motion Cobra burnout video back in the day? 3:04
Absolutely an amazing car I had a silver 2003 and I regret selling it all the time. Love the channel guys
I still have mine
Congrats! It’s never to late to complete some dreams. The closest thing me and my friends had during that time was dad’s 03 convertible GT. What a great car. They still have it too. Garage queen.
Jakub's loving this even more than his Raptor. I've never seen him more excited about a car. Congratulations!
Ported blower, 6#/2.90 pulleys, CAI, exhaust….most fun streetcar you’ll ever have.
New Edge was the nickname given to the mid-cycle refresh of the SN-95. So, New Edge Mustangs are indeed SN-95s.
congrats! i owned a DSG 03 cobra brand new love that car sold it for almost what i bought it for still one of the best cars i have owned. stock I dynoed 472hp to the wheels. i did a pulley, exhaust, filter and suspension mods. don't forget the pulley tensioner add on when so you don't get pulley slip. the six speed tremec was also one of those really special items that this car had.
And underrated from Ford, right from the factory. Ford claimed 390bhp, but in reality they were making 390+ to the rear wheels. Quite a big difference. The Terminator will always be one of my most favorite Mustangs.
I knew he'd get something cool to replace his BMW M2!... Oh wait.
I’m Jakub, and you’re watching…oh wait. And we’re going for a drive!
@@itsreallyjakub😂 this is healthy YT channel rivalry.
Happy for you, I wanted this exact year mustang as a kid; but the idea these are going for just shy of what they did in 03 is crazy
Honestly it's so cool to see you go after a childhood dream. Both of you guys should do the same. Buy some barn out in the country and buy a bunch of old cool cars that you all wanted as a kid.
I’ve basically done that
Good stuff. This was a high school dream car for so many of us. Loved seeing how into this Jakub was and how Yuri's face lit up when he got behind the wheel!
Welcome to the club!
So much better with my new mods now
I was 13 when these were released.
The refrence to Snake Bite 2 at the beginning already has me invested alone.
Congrats Jakub, that baby is MINT👌
The first car I really ever drove on the street was my brother-in-law's '96 cobra. I was 14. Fast forward a couple years later in HS and my buddy got to borrow a deployed neighbors Terminator for a few months. I had my dad's 911, my other buddy had his dad's classic fiat and we'd go ripping around.
Hell yeah
I’ve owned 2 of these beasts and they are the best mustang ever made! Guys complain about the interior and the clutch but I love both!! If you complain about the clutch then I guess you’re just a softy or used to driving a Miata! This car has such a raw feeling like a really pissed off supercharged go kart with a body kit on it!! The engine is bullet proof but sadly everything around the motor isn’t! Fuel system is weak, the 03’ has a head flow problem and the frame between the motor rusts out.. other than that this car is unstoppable!!🔥
A lighter clutch would be nice. I have a C6 Z06 making 740hp and the McLeod RXT clutch I put in holds up to 800hp and is as light as a feather
The Terminator Cobra has been my dream car. I would kill for a sonic Blue Cobra🔥🔥🔥
ONE of the best sounding mustangs of all time.
I forgot about these cars, they were truly something special when they came out, definitely bang for your buck.
Picked up an 04 a month ago…dream came true. This car is the shit🤟🏼
Welcome to the family! I have a red 10th Anniversary coupe. Terminator ownership is definitely an adventure!
Love it! I’m from the same era and I recently picked up an 03 Cobra with 2,400 original miles. Had to replace the original tires when I got it. It’s absolutely mint and I, like you, love it.
Wow amazing congrats
Just sold my 10th anniversary 03 Cobra, Torch red, built motor, cams, 2.6 kenne bell. Liked the car but wasn’t for me lol. It was always one of those “I want one cars” for me too so had to have it at some point. Congrats man!
Thank John Coletti for the 03-04 Cobra and many other cool projects from Ford
This is what I love to see - true car guys with real cars and not just mainstream drivers reviewing the quickest EVs.
It's *technically* an SN95 (94-04) but most just call it a New Edge which was the mid-cycle refresh in 99.
I still love my 2004 Cobra. Keeping it long term.
even with the 5.0 coming out in 2011, the terminator is still my dream car
Suspense to find if this was Yuri's dream or Jakub's dream.
I think we all know it was Jakub’s lol
😂
It said cobra jakub in the intro tho? Lol why the suspense
@@ItsYaBoyMj2xbecause they commented before watching to fish for likes.

love it i had my 400hp 1990 fox and my buddy got sick of me beating him in his sn95 so he went and bought a 03 cobra and go figure it dynos stock 460 at the rear wheels which blew all of our minds
They do not dyno 460 to the wheels stock
Recalibrate your dyno. They tend to read around 400-410 to the wheels.
I love how excited Jakub is with this car.
Congrats! I bought my ZL1 a couple months ago for the same reason. Having the ability to take your kids and wife to shows is great. If I was a single guy it would have been a corvette lol.
Yup I totally get it
My older brother bought this one brand new in July 2002. It was Sonic Blue and one of the first one in show rooms. He negotiated with the sales team for hours until they agreed on $32,000
Fun cars for sure! I've owned my '99 for 13 years now. It may not be a Terminator, but it's still a great car.
Id take a boss 302 over that and a c5. BUT they are legends from when I was a teenager. TERMINATOR AND C6Z were king back then. Great era of cars in the early 2000's
Still a banger, see so few of them. So many hidden away or forgotten about. Powa babeh!
Good times.
Your second coolest supercharged car !
The Terminator Cobra will always be elite in my eyes. That supercharger whine and exhaust note is bliss
