    How to get your lot plowed for free...
    Step 1 bring a plow truck to a media event.
    Step 2 tell the journalists they can test it out
    Step 3 have a drink and watch the lot get cleared.

    That dump valve makes me want a manual transmission in this Chevy
    The switch bank is pretty cool too. Kinda like the ford outfitter switch setup

    • @hoophil
      @hoophil 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the switch bank is really cool until you get your new truck and find GM installs the switch bank in the dash and they give you the harness for it in a bag on the floor. Customer participation wiring the switch bank! The last thing I expected to do on my new truck was to have to tear the IP apart to wire the switches and they don't supply instructions for the harness installation.

    P.T.O aka Power Take- Off.. The short version is, It's a device that transfers engine power to a piece of equipment that doesn't have it's own power source.. It really just looks like and kind of is a drive shaft type device. Now I'm no rocket surgeon by any means but once you see one up close it's easy to see/understand how it all works.. I personally think that it's pretty awesome and the tools you can get are just as cool.

  • @regsparkes6507
    @regsparkes6507 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Steve,..here's an idea for you,...why not do a full video on exactly how and why the industry has changed over to electronically activated parking brake. This is an item that
    a lot of reviewers are incorrectly calling an E-BRAKE,..this is NOT an emergency brake, simply because you can't ( should never ) activate it while in motion.
    I for one, would wish they'd go back to the manually activated parking brake.

    Another good Video. :) Seeing how you had a Ford 150 with plow package on love my ride, it would be nice to see these ones stack up. The same with aux switches. What is amp behind each switch? it is shared or separate. 100 amp for all? where does it go on the other side of the firewall? aka how easy is it to set up a feature with aux switches? things like lights and winch comes to mind, but how about a salt spreader?

    Plows don’t need PTO

    • @sy381
      @sy381 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Guess you can't with this truck. Drove dump truck for 20 years. Tailgating material was one of my favorite things to do. When dumping a load the truck has a natural motion to push forward. Setting the parking brake to dump is stupid if your bed is full. Gotta drift forward. Guess you could release the parking brake and roll forward but the PTO will disengage. Ugh. Not ideal but I'm sure someone will figure out an override

    • @alexwolfzabalaga1472
      @alexwolfzabalaga1472 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Adam Kane Transport LLC yes! Sometimes you need to pull forward when dumping a load.
