Thanks for the video! I removed my water pump with a crow bar like you but realized afterwards that it actually has a M6 hole on either side of the pump that you can screw M6 bolts into and this will pop the pump out without a crowbar.
On mine the screws snapped the metal of the water pump housing off so needed to crowbar it off after. Thats what you get if you dont change a water pump for 18 years.
I do have a question, how did you refill the coolant and bleed the system? I have everything back together (replaced Tstat, ratiator and water pump) and my car is overheating and the heater is no longer blowing hot air so I'm guessing air is trapped in the heater core. Any ideas? I've tried starting from cold with the radiator cap off and having the heater full-blast with the blower motor on 4 and letting it warm up that way but no luck.
yeah I cut that part of the video out and I haven't had a chance to edit it and throw it together. anyways there is a little bleeder valve next to the radiator cap that you loosen with a flat head and you leave the radiator cap off and you leave the heater on high until the bubbles stop coming out of the bleeder. you don't need to take the bleeder all the way out just need to loosen it.
14:57 my bolt would not thread back in or tighten it's the same length as bottom bolts but all I did was remove the bolt never rammed it in I was blowing steam lol 93 e36 318is m42

@ 19:03 what did you do about the common issue? did you trim the gasket or just bolted it up anyway?
Easiest waterpump removal in m42 history. Why didnt you drain the block first btw?

This is really helpful thanks
Love the vid bro! I just did this. Any tips for bleeding it?
That part took awhile so it wasnt in the video. I highly recommend to purchase a vacuum filler. Saves so much time.
@@2ZERO8 thank you for getting back to me! I managed to get it done haha
