I'm English and have studied Spanish before. I haven't used it in a while, so I have to study again to resurface it, but I find that learning Italian is helping me remember the Spanish that I've forgotten due to how similar the words are. I know some French too, and some of the words are throwing me off when I read them, because I read the French pronunciation for them. Like, Facile, Difficile, Dire, Fare, Avere, Venire, Prendere, Trovare, Parlere, and Volere look near identical to their French counterparts, so I get the confusion. The letter C keeps throwing me off when I see it too.

As an Italian I could tell you that Portuguese, is a mix of Sicilian and French. I was a member of a Brazilian church for about a year, here in Brooklyn, New York where I have lived for 50years of my 63 years. I was 13 years when my family moved from Sicily to New York. I have to be honest, i love the Portuguese language better than my first language which is Italian.
The first time I watched this woman teaching . What a great way to learn Italian I like watching woman the way they speak and their expressions . What a great way of learning . I have been trying to learn Italian for years first by book which was almost hopless and now with programs on playstore where you hear the person speaking which is better . Now seeing the pretty woman explains the words is even better. I have been to Italy and my mother is from Trieste, well I live in rotorua New Zealand learning Italian keep my mind active great for a 68 year old ,man thank you
Thank you Desiree!. Your video is great!. Italian is my third language and I am far from being fluent in it, but I am studying hard to make it my own language!. Is the first time I watch your video and I already learned several words from you. Thank you so much!.
Since long, I tried to learn italian, I speak german already, but no success, this one is the top one, not only beautiful teacher but good teacher as well. If only I came across you before, I would be speaking italian now. Thanks so much
At 9:14 this helped me understand why a lovely co worker from Italy would run into work late shouting, "I know, I know, I know, I'm late". We were shocked speechless, because in the USA, this sounds antagonistic and would definitely upset people even more, LOL. In the US we would say something like: "I'm so, so sorry! I had car trouble!" (or whatever the reason was), and then: I'll be sure to stay late to make up for the lost time" of if you're meeting a friend, "let me buy you a drink to make up for it". Hope I don't do some sort of mistake like this when I'm in Italy, yikes.
Desirèe is charming and very clear. I have been studying Italian daily for over ten months and I still found the video useful. One suggestion for another phrase to cover: "I have a table booked for [time]".
I've found your channel recently (or it found me :)) and I'm loving your way to teach Italian!!! Good examples, showing the difference between formal and informal use of the language, and you're really simpatica... Grazie mille!!!
Grazie Desireè. My great grandparents are from Palermo and Calabria and I haven't spoken any Italian, other than to sing it (I am a choir/vocal music teacher) in years. I appreciate your videos to relearn what I have forgotten many years ago. Also, I will give a compliment that you have very kind eyes! Take care and keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for the video! I tried what you have learned me on my visit to Napoli, the local people understood what I spoke, which was wonderful.

Thank you you are explaining the verbs in good context, this seems to be a big problem for me.. I am living in Italy for 6 years but still having problems with verbs and adjectives
Hi, I love your "Learn Italian with ItalianPod101, out of all the others on TH-cam i like yours the most but there is one problem, you go way too fast if you slow down just a little it would be perfect. Please continue to make more learn Italian conversation videos but please go slower, I listen to you while i go walking everyday for an hour. Thanks for taking your time to do this because we appreciate it. ti amo
Wow, how about this for a change? It's not too fast for me, and you can always pause or rewind (for the expressions e.g.) and copy them from the screen, do some work yourself hey? The problem with most vids is that they are short , don't have that much information and are too slow, with a lot of repetition, so this is just perfect, as is the presenter BTW, but there is a mistake in the word describing her at the beginning (there's one letter too many in the word 'host') :-) So, as an absolute beginner in Italian, I would say: Ooh, quella donna è così carina! I am sure I would learn a lot of Italian very fast if she were in more vids (?). She has a relaxed attitude, which is good. But be careful not to overdo the technical gimmicks, use them sparingly. Thank you so much! La ringrazio molto. Will subscribe.
Desiree you do a wonderful job! You present it the way we should know it, not like some of the others. One small comment: Can you please slow it down about 2-4 seconds? Molto più lento, per favore?
Im greek and in school they teach us a litle bit of french and now im trying to learn italian on my own and i have noticed it looks a lot like french in vocabulary and grammar(which helps a lot) For example Tu=Tu(you) Libro=libre(book) Mange=mange(eat) La=la (the for female subjects) Un=un (one for male subjects) Una=une (one for female subjects) And the fact that you only have male and female subjects
Pro tip: I haven’t watched the whole vid, but you use essere for sentences that does not have a direct object, and avere for sentences that does have direct object. Hope this is helpful.

There are a few factors in studying Italian online . One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Hartlyn language lessons (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the no.1 remedy that I've found. Look at the incredible information .
I get that Italians speak fast, and I can kinda keep up with it, but personally for me I’d like it if the word she starts off with stays in the screen a little longer, as well as the phrases. Only because I am dyslexic and seeing the word, hearing it, and having time to say it helps me learn.
Gemma Cotton I agree, she talks kinda fast and that’s good so you can hear Italian spoken naturally... but it’s easier to pick up going slow to start and gradually picking up the pace.

No grammar, pronouns, use of adverbs, verbs, articles or conjugations were talked about in this video? How in the hell was the "best" Italian video that you have found??? LOL
Yulieth Ortiz Barraza Yes you can this channel has like 20 other channels with THE same name but just another language spanish podcast, Japanse podcast
Lol, yeah she explained... nothing, just meaning of words that you can find easily in a dictionary. And yes, you are wrong too in that "not even in spanish you can find such a well explained video", say hi to
EnSimplesPalabras, the best course of italian in spanish.
My great grandfather came to Australia from Italy in 1909..so your help is much appreciated ...thank you!
I love how italian sounds like Portuguese! Makes a lot of easier to learn
Hii
Roman-latin roots
As an Italian I could tell you that Portuguese, is a mix of Sicilian and French. I was a member of a Brazilian church for about a year, here in Brooklyn, New York where I have lived for 50years of my 63 years. I was 13 years when my family moved from Sicily to New York. I have to be honest, i love the Portuguese language better than my first language which is Italian.
@@Silly540 The 5 languages that derive from Latin are: Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian. Sorry if you were aware of them.
Bella
I love how you break it down in what to say and not to say but slow down on the words so i can understand the word and pronunciation
I have been to Italy and my mother is from Trieste, well I live in rotorua New Zealand learning Italian keep my mind active great for a 68 year old ,man thank you
Lovely job, your personality comes through beautifully. Well done young lady
You are awesome...I've watched others teaching italian and they talk too much just to say 0ne word...you help with short sentences! Grazie!! 🙌😊
I agree with the simple one word method learning.
Thank you Desiree!. Your video is great!. Italian is my third language and I am far from being fluent in it, but I am studying hard to make it my own language!. Is the first time I watch your video and I already learned several words from you. Thank you so much!.
Great instructional. I am watching these to brush up on my basics.
Desiree is beautiful. Grazie mille!
grazie for the video!!! Loved it for the basics... it was very hard to communicate in Italy 🇮🇹 I wish I watch this first

Did your parents teach you to speak Italian?
I'm 25% born in Texas
Since long, I tried to learn italian, I speak german already, but no success, this one is the top one, not only beautiful teacher but good teacher as well. If only I came across you before, I would be speaking italian now. Thanks so much
I used to be speak Italian back on 1980 .this Video is refreshing the Language to me. Thanks for this Video.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! Extremely informative, helpful, and easy! 🙏🙌🏼💜
I speak Spanish and English and now I want to learn Italian 💞🤗🙋🏻♀️. I love the pronunciation ✨
Italians are always late. And we NEVER read instructions.
Italian seems to speak fast... im learning italian now, thanks for the video. i love this language
The speed is exactly the same, you’re just not used to Italian
Take care and keep up the great work!
belissimo, fell in love the way you teach it,it's amazing and so easy to learn, superb!!
Thank you so much for the video! I tried what you have learned me on my visit to Napoli, the local people understood what I spoke, which was wonderful.
amazing!! thank you. i hope i can use some of these phrases in Italy in July. i am complete beginner. Italian has always fascinated me. Due to lockdown i decided it is time to fulfill my dream to learn some Italian.
You're the best teacher ive ever had. I love that she is using her actual personality. She's lively, beautiful, cute dimples, and a lovely accent. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you you are explaining the verbs in good context, this seems to be a big problem for me.. I am living in Italy for 6 years but still having problems with verbs and adjectives
Has a spanish native speaker, Italian it's surprisingly easy, I think I'm learning even faster than when I was learning English.
I love this video! So helpful!
I just wish she slowed down in between phrases, but I can always pause it.
Wow this is really powerful and practical! Thank you so much
Hi, I love your "Learn Italian with ItalianPod101, out of all the others on TH-cam i like yours the most but there is one problem, you go way too fast if you slow down just a little it would be perfect. Please continue to make more learn Italian conversation videos but please go slower, I listen to you while i go walking everyday for an hour. Thanks for taking your time to do this because we appreciate it. ti amo
You are adorable.i love you more them Babbel. Your verb presentation is more manageable!!! And intrinsically more meaningful!!!! Love you!!!! more
Learning for an exchange year in Italy in the near future! This was so helpful!!🙌🏻Thank you 💗
Sister I want to learn Italian language. Can u help me please🙏
Finally a channel that explains things clearly 👌
This is the most comprehensive Italian lesson video I’ve ever watched.
Thank you so much. I speak spanish and português. This was very easy to understand.
I'm new learner here and the lesson was informative of information
Thanks a lot 🌹🌹
Who else is watching this before their trip to Italy 😂
Salve ,
I’m back from my trip to Rome, but I loved learning the language so much before my trip that I’m l committed to continuing after it!
Me! Going to Amalfi end of August ❤
We bought a house and need to learn the language so we can talk to our neighbors
(Raises hands)
So far the best video and method to learn Italian. Congratulation. Grazie mille.
I can listen to her for hours!!! Grazie Bella!
Wooooow i just have to take a break from italian, because I have to focus on my finals but you really motivated me to start again!:D grazie mille❤
Desiree it is really useful. Thank you very much. I've already learnt lot.
Just started to learn this beautiful language and found these videos really helpful and productive💕👌Thank you Desiree!
Hi, I’m Italian where are u from?
Ayo!! I started a little over a month ago too. Esta mi tercera idioma cerca de español;)
I am from Egypt and that's very helpful thank you so much > Grazie mille
Italian sounds very sweet and musical,You did an excellent job
My daughers are trying to learn italian..and i think it would be helpful for them..grazie
Desiree you do a wonderful job! You present it the way we should know it, not like some of the others. One small comment: Can you please slow it down about 2-4 seconds? Molto più lento, per favore?
Just adjust the playback mode to .75, they have the feature now here on TH-cam.
PLEASE SLOW DOWN.... THANK YOU 😊😇 I ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS THANKS AGAIN
Go into the Settings, there you can slow the speed....
Thank you so much I'm learning better than I thought
You are a great teacher of Italian thank you for teaching me
As a romanian person , I fell like Italian and even Spanish sound so much like Romanian
You really got me when you said "Look at me when I'm talking to you"... I was only listening at that time.. I laughed so hard😅
Wow! So similar to French!
This girl was really easy to follow. She did great job teaching
Im greek and in school they teach us a litle bit of french and now im trying to learn italian on my own and i have noticed it looks a lot like french in vocabulary and grammar(which helps a lot)
For example
Tu=Tu(you)
Libro=libre(book)
Mange=mange(eat)
La=la
(the for female subjects)
Un=un
(one for male subjects)
Una=une
(one for female subjects)
And the fact that you only have male and female subjects
u are teaching very good i like it,but try to slow down small
Pro tip: I haven’t watched the whole vid, but you use essere for sentences that does not have a direct object, and avere for sentences that does have direct object. Hope this is helpful.
I am from somalia and italian is my second language because we have a long history with italians . Thanks! Iam really interested it.

You are the best & intelligent Teacher 🇮🇹♥️🇦🇫 your accent is so good 👌
I want to learn Italian language I am new here in Italy Your teaching is perfect
Good luck.
So that spaghetti sauce in the U.S. is literally called, "You're welcome?"
Prego, mangiamo!
Transliterally it means "I pray," but it's used in a lot of situations, not just "you're welcome."
Prego has several translations lol
Prego doesn't mean pregnant
There are a few factors in studying Italian online . One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Hartlyn language lessons (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the no.1 remedy that I've found. Look at the incredible information .
I want to speak Italian like a native speaker! And will achieve it.
Same!! We got this!
Good luck, not even the most part of Italians can speak it correctly, lol. Trust me, I'm Italian 😂
@@dropintheocean3520 I meant the most basic words because no one
can speak it perfectly even my native language greek .
I keep pausing but it’s a little too fast. I’m hyper so like it but just a little slower when putting the words on screen.
I`m brazilian and thank you for this video...
Thank. Trying to learn some Italian before our trip 😊
