Modular FTW. I love how bulky it looks with the extra armor padding, and also its functionalities. IMO i dont think many suits compare to it, but the 1963 is very close, love its really sleek design

It solve the problem of too many systems in the armor and in ability to streamline and miniaturize those necessary systems to allow for a more compact model.

Prime Model is way more versatile and powerful than the BE armor. It didn't lack that one Repulsor Node flaw, one hit and the armor malfunctioned like big time.

Blamo Stramo actually he just went back to Extremis. Although in his own series (as well as the most recent avengers runs) he cycled through many suits including what was essentially a New Avengers/Illuminati armor with black detailing here and there as well as a blacked out part of the torso. He also strangely had an entirely separate armor on the covers for Slott’s run which looked just the tiniest bit like Extremis but still had a lot of striking visual identity. The best way I can describe it if you haven’t seen the covers are imagine if Extremis just jutted out at you a lot more but was more streamlined and angular. Shame we never got to see it though, it would’ve looked interesting when done by the right artist (maybe Mike Del Mundo).

It was sleeker and the unibeam had some weird notches, but all the visual cues of the Extremis Armor were still there. This "version" of the Extremis sorta made it into the comics in the Avengers issues drawn by David Marquez early in Aaron's run.

Throughout the years, there always has been a main "avatar" armour that tony prefers. So even if there're more armours, they only said the main ones. I don't remember any other armour that stayed enough time to be a main one, besides the Superior Suit or the Model 45 suit (Used in the Guardians of the Galaxy comics). There are more iconic ones, yes, but they weren't enough time to be a main one
the modular armor is still my favorite to this day of course, the mcu has some pretty good ones that i wouldn't swap out for anything else (except the homecoming armor), but the modular armor is what i think of when someone talks about comic iron man
0:42 You left out how the magnetic chest plate allows him to keep the shrapnel from entering his heart. That’s the most important part of the armor. It also meant that he had to create a portable model so he could keep it on under his clothes since back then the concept of a small circular piece of metal in his chest has been thought up yet. Oh yeah and also the hilarious part about how he had to plug it into the wall to charge it LOL

The Neo-Classic Model 09 was my first Iron Man. It's still my favorite. Classic Red and Gold and Extremis are up there. The new Alex Ross design looks great, except for the gold toes and soles.
Symion he meant if you listen to the narrator he mentions the extremis can be stored within Tony’s bones. This wasn’t actually a feature of the extremis but instead of the bleeding edge. So that means Marvel editors lumped them together in one category because they have similar designs. As that’s what these lists are: design rankings.
