    The ability to land in party member's hanger is such a great change, probably the best thing i discovered that night.

      And ur cargo hangers acts as theirs when they access it. Wish u could call n store though bc it treats them as "ship parking garage" when it disappears.

      i wonder if that works across multiple game sessions - eg you logout and log in, then just backspace to get into your hangar rather than taking trains etc.

    Citizen Kate another well done video that I found extremely enjoyable to watch.
    In addition, I want to share some thoughts with you that you may and may not have thought about when it comes to this game.
    The persistent hangers that CIG will be bringing online soon to everyone it's just the first steppingstone to so much more that will be added to this game. For example, I understand CIG is working on giving us the ability to add on additional living space or other space to our persistent hangers where we could possibly have a shooting range, weapon modification rooms, lavatories for conducting experiments and so much more.
    Furthermore, if you look at the distribution centers that CIG will be adding and if you think a bit out of the box when it comes to these distribution centers. It is quite possible that maybe one day organizations will be able to own buildings of this size and magnitude to make their own organizational base out of it.
    Furthermore, if you look at the base building that will be coming to the game and if you're part of an organization. Base building may give us the ability to link different land claims together to formulate a mini city or large town where your entire organizational members can work congregate and have fun together.
    Star Citizen is like no other game that exists out there and through patience and given time CIG can add so much more to this game that literally the sky would be the limit. Because if you think about it CIG talked about asteroid basis and I strongly suspect that given the size of what is asteroids will be like someone who owns a Javelin will quite possibly be able to park their ship in a hidden asteroid hanger where it would be docked with your base to perform whatever operations you desire.

      The asteroid bases are supposed to have some hidden reward that Jared was shy about talking about... I have a hunch it was related to either bases or crafting.

    Just a headsup, the other ship showing in your hangar is also something that happens on 3.23 live.
    Had a C2 sitting in my MT Hangar last night, that disapeared when I got closer.

    If there were pre-fabricated walls that can be bought, you could set up a maze in a XL hanger space and run combat games in there with Pices on the side for respawn.

    Being able to respawn in a medical bed in hangar is amazing. With the right setup, you'd never have to take long transits from the residence to hangar!

    I know there is a sort of office overlooking the hanger, but I hope the Devs will eventually create a side room for a lounge area. That will make sense creating personal spaces rather than just around the fringe of the hanger space. As far as furniture is concerned, I can't wait for pool tables to "work" so we can hang out in a personal hanger and play a few rounds of speedball... maybe I'll be better in the digital world than I am in the real world... lol.

    As I recall the Regen range is limited. So if your off planet your not likely going back to the C8R if too far away.

    I'd really like to see some location specific mission offerings, not just a global mission giver that covers the entire planet. What I mean by this is when you finished your delivery mission, I realized it would've been nice if that site you delivered the cargo to, had missions to offer that you would only see if you were at the site. That way you could take a mission that takes you to that site, deliver your cargo that in turn breeds a little trust with the sites owner, and that in turn allows you to accept some special cargo missions that you could pick up while you're already there. This would keep you busy in a delivery chain, but could also open the door to story chains that feel really natural to pick up, because one lead into another and you just ended up following a rabbit hole you didn't realize you were in until it unfolded.
    Where as now, everything feels too "return to center". Pick up a mission -> go get it -> deliver -> done -> return to center and pick another mission from the available pool. I'd like to see more missions naturally lead into additional missions without the need to "return to center", before accepting the next mission. And I mean as general play, not just story mission. They had me deliver here. I'm here now. Make use of that.
    Amusing side note: This is a feeling I've had about many games for a long time and stems from a rage inducing incident I had with Far Cry 2 back in the day. Where that game went through all the effort to give me a phone, teach me about radio towers etc. And at one point in the game, it sent me on this long ass mission way out in the sticks. After completing the mission, the game made me come all the way back, past the patrols and checkpoints, this long ass trip. Dealing with that bullshit malaria mechanic (or whatever it was). I get back to base only for the game to tell me my next mission is way out in the sticks again, not far from where I was just at. I was pissed. One of those times where I burst out yelling at the game. "Are you F'n kidding me. I was literally just there. Why did you make me come all the way back here just to send me back where I was. You gave me a damn cell phone at the beginning of the game. Why didn't you just F'n call me. FFS." This rant was not short. About twice as long as the F'n trip back out to the sticks. I was that angry. Needless to say, my time with that game didn't last much longer after that. I gave up, quit the game and never looked back, because I felt like the game was actively and intentionally disrespecting my time. So I went and played Fallout 3 instead. Much better game.
    Ever since then when I see missions, I'm now always looking for those opportunities where the game can naturally push me forward without making me return to center. That mission you just did, is begging for that. I would've loved to see you complete that mission. Have that "leave in 30 minutes" appear, but instead of leaving, you go to the admin office or main lobby of that site and find a special console/job board that can only be found "on site", where it has site specific cargo run offerings that offer better rates than the globally listed missions. You pick one and the "leave in 30 minutes" message disappears because you are now on a new mission directly contracted by the manager of the site you are currently at. All without the need to return to center.
    Having global missions is great because it's convenient, but it also feels very generic. Doing something like this would offer more work with better pay that feels more natural within the game universe and would promote people to make more use of the various points of interest rather than relying too heavily on the generic Mobi boards. It could even be considered a direct benefit of taking the time to explore the sites you visit. This is what I'd like to see in the game some day.

    Any ship with a cargo grid can become a passenger ship now. Those rping passenger shuttles can stick a load of chairs on their grid, pick up and drop off players around Stanton and Pyro.

    The haulage mission with loading and unloading yourself and calling elevators for the warehouse etc is good roleplay mechanics. Immersive. I like it. Now they just need to get rid of the different flight modes. No future engineer is going to sell a ship that can't use its weapons when cruising around. Stupid.

    Another magnificent video that shows a great respect for the best ship of the Verse, the "Caterpillar" which remains despite its design "Drake", one of the most versatile carriers and with a very profitable investment.

    Idk if you care for the knowledge at this point, but you can spawn ships with ships still on the pad. But you need to know the scale of the ships and insure they don't intersect at all when spawning. So long as it isn't "in the way" the ships already on the pad will remain on the pad and the new ship will spawn, for example my Connie can sit at the front of my large hangar and when I call in the reclaimer it remains there.

    I melted my Reclaimer as well i am pledged for a Ironclad Assault i plan on stacking Novas to use through the front hatch and put ballista inside to retract the roof and can angle the fire. If you are familiar with Macross/Robotech the ship looks like the ARMD Platform carriers check em out you will see what i mean

    Looks pretty cool these new hangars. Do you think there is a possible problem that during busy times the overlap in persistent hangars (two sharing the same place with the same access point into space) and people coming and going from overlapped hangars? Like ships appearing right in front of the hangar doors as you try to land your caterpillar and a small squadron of ships launches out?

      Persistence hangars are “supposed” to be permanently available, at least until the shard is recreated, but otherwise it’s persistent like other PES compatible items

    I tried to do some testing for the last few days but I haven't managed to even enter my hangar. I heard the sounds, but the Elevator never opened. XD At some point I just gave up lol

    With the instanced hangar what happens if two un-partied people try to leave the same hangar as the same time? Suddenly when they leave their hangar they're occupying the same space and boom?

      i think it works like the hangars are stored on the same spot when closed but move to a separate opening if one is already in use. at least thats what makes the most sense to me, how ever cig has done it we wont know unless theyve said anything about it

      The "gateway" granted is the part where the instanced hangar is moved to an actual hangar opening in the universe. The queue applies when there are no free doors of the correct size (or there is a bug that causes some doors to not be used or released or...). Of course there are precious few XL doors anywhere and L ones too are in somewhat limited supply so when all the whales try to leave at the same time there is going to be some waiting.

      If you mean the ones from the Distro centers then yeah probably but the outpost ones are sized good. You are not supposed to be able to load a c2 at a small outpost fast and easy.

      @@pedrohenrifelix That's kind of the point -- you're only supposed to use small and medium craft there. Distro centres are for larger loads. They have a pretty hard limit on how much SCU small outposts can hold. That's why they have the multiple larger elevators and hangars at the distro centrs.

    testing spawning ships in the hangar we could spawn 40 ships in the persistent hangar. but after 7 large ships (4 Hercules, 2 Caterpillar, Carrack) frame rate started suffering...

    For everything having such a high price, this is an Alpha, they're clearly trying to play it like an actual game instead of actually letting us test it.
