That first “hole” you tried for wasn’t actually a show. It’s from a clam gun with a vent hole. They’re called Claminators. If you go clamming a lot, it’s worth the investment. They’re $200. The vent tube releases the suction from the hole and makes it SUPER easy to pull the clam gun up.

@@washingtonlife Also if you have a capable vehicle (4WD and ideally high clearance) you can go to fort Steven shipwreck, drive onto the beach and turn right, go past the shipwreck and clam there. Less people in one area and the clans are generally bigger. If you don’t have a high clearance car I suggest you drive down onto the beach at the Sunset Approach and turn right.(takes longer to get to shipwreck)

I was extremely shocked to see how this all went down in Oregon. I’m usually always clamming in Washington and this was the first year for me to go on the Oregon side for razor clams. It’s definitely different 👍

It’s just call razor clam digging and it’s for a good meal at the end of the day. Yes there are rules and regulations every digger has to follow by. Limit is 15 per person and can only dig when the states approves it. Everyone clam you dig up has to be kept and cannot be put back
