The bluetooth disconnect would be nice, but I have a shortcut app installed to take me straight to Bluetooth Devices in settings, so it's pretty easy. I don't need backlit buttons since I've got them memorized by feel, I never lose my remote, and I can already remap my extra buttons to open any app I'd like.
Some of these features may be useful for my elderly mother, though. She only uses her BT headphones on her firestick because it's too much of a pain for her to pair/unpair between devices. She also loses track of her remote from time to time, and she only has few remote buttons memorized, so backlighting might be good. It's nice that they're adding features that are useful to older folks. That was one my main issues regarding custom launchers. She can't deal with the busy interface and small text of the Amazon default home screen. It gives her migraines. With a custom launcher I was able to simplify the look and make the icons and text large and legible for her.
Some features that I'd actually use if they were available... A headphone jack, like with the Roku remote. USB charging for the remote instead of disposable batteries. Quick launch buttons that can be programmed for anything. Air mouse functionality. At least a built-in mouse toggle. And maybe a clip so you can attach a lanyard or something.

That remote should have been included with the fire cube 3.

I am to cheep, I would spend the extra money for more performance but not for a remote.

Have you tried pairing this remote with your Nvidia Shield? I recently purchased a Shield Pro and am not a fan of the included remote. NOTE: I was able to program my 2nd generation remote to my Shield successfully. But that fire remote is the one used on my Fire Cube. Also, have you tried using the Button Mapper app to mod the buttons?

I spent $34.99 on my 4K Max…not for a remote 👎
Everybody talking about other features which are less important to me, nobody talking about if the bluetooth headphones work without a lag between sound and video
It's very common for Bluetooth speakers or headphones to be out of sync, but most streaming apps have an "audio offset" setting that can be adjusted ahead or behind as needed.
