Very helpful video. Thanks Tanya. I've been considering upgrading from my firestick tv lite for some time, but have been put off by the lack of storage. I had previously been watching your video on adding USB storage to my current firestick to overcome the problem. With the release of Fire TV Stick 4K Max 2nd gen with 16gb of storage, I finally decided that the time was right to invest in the latest offering. The new Fire TV Stick 4K Max 2nd gen should land on the doormat tomorrow, so looking forward to finding out just what the latest version has to offer.
As always Tanya another great video explaining the new 2nd gen 4k max. I plan to purchase this latest firestick and from all the reviews I've seen your the only one that mentioned that the mouse toggle doesn't work with the new 4k max,that's not good for me because I have 3rd party apps side loaded on mines that require the use of a mouse toggle

Im glad i came across your channel regarding the amazon firestick. I just ordered mines today from best buy and i noticed it said wifi 6e, i was a little nervous because my wifi is wifi 6 & not 6e but im glad that you did mention in the video that it does support regular wifi as well with your router. I appreciate the information, thanks. I recently purchased the 2nd gen 4k and have a general question. Has anyone purchased a stick running OS 8 and it's missing many of the new features, such as app offload and such? I am constantly restarting my stick and checking for updates no luck so far.
The new Fire TV Stick may not get this feature because it has more storage space.
In the old days my house was coming down with plastic bags. Now it's Fire sticks...lol New sticks coming out every few months now.

I recently upgraded to the new Firestick 4K Max [2nd Gen] You mentioned your New Device comes with 16 GB Storage, where mine has capacity of 12,86 GB?. Te O/S seems correct at OS=8,1,0.2[RS8102/1967] Is there a difference in where I purchased it, as I am in Canada
The Amazon Firestick has a storage capacity of 16 GB. However, some of this space is taken up by the Fire TV operating system and Amazon's pre-installed apps. As a result, you'll have 12.86 GB of usable storage space. I hope this information is helpful!

Does the full amount of cache come back or is it a small amount like 16kb? Take a look at this video:

I am still using my Pioneer 50" Fire TV, it has 11.77 GB available with Fire TV OS 7.6.5.2, the only thing I was looking to do is upgrade to a backlit remote control.
Does this come with the backlit remote?
No. As far as I know, the only Fire TV remote that is backlit is the Voice Remote Pro which is a separate purchase - amzn.to/3rbBS3E.

Can you recommend what fire stick to get if you don't have a 4k tv and only can use hotspot.
I would recommend investing in the 4K Max streaming device as it features a more powerful processor, resulting in a faster and smoother user experience. It's worth noting that having a 4K TV is not a requirement to use a 4K streaming device. However, if you don't have a 4K TV, you won't be able to stream content in 4K resolution.

Is there any way to back up and transfer apps on a Firestick 4K max gen 1 device from not just internal storage but also from an external USB drive? I have apps on both as some didn’t fit on internal storage.
I have Xplore installed but it doesn’t “see” the USB drive. Is that because my drive is configured to “run apps”?

If you have your USB drive configured to install more apps, you won't be able to see it X-plore.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way of transferring all apps to your new Firestick.
Will read USB drives formatted with NTFS?
Not as far as I know. The only Fire TV device that supports NTFS is the 3rd Gen Fire TV Cube due to its full-sized USB port - amzn.to/3HxZqoK.

It is best to keep your Firestick updated with security updates and get new features. However, it is a personal choice as some updates sometimes can cause users problems!

Is firestick better on buffering and app freezing I’m not sold yet I got max 4 k but when watching live tv it freezes constantly
If everything else runs fine on your Firestick, live TV channels freezing is most likely due to either internet issues or an issue with the supplier of the TV channel.
It's not only mouse toggle not working - I can't find any way of keeping the new 4k Max awake iether, previous methods stop after a restart. I need "keep awake" for a couple of apps I use.
I'll look into it.

Disappointing it doesn't come with the pro remote, doesn't have built in power via TV USB to get rid of hidious, unsightly power cables & a built in sd card slot would cure all memory capacity problems permanently.
There's really no need for USB C as you'll never unplug it anyway , and as long as you don't use Kodi you should have enough space just using apps with Real Debrid ....
One can NEVER have enough space & as apps update there space is increased for storing onto your stick.

Using one app didn't matter under the older sticks setup in terms of storage. The problem imo was users installing way too many apps in the remaining storage space on the 8gb sticks. Starting with the 2nd Gen cube & the 1st Gen Max,
adding storage is so much easier/cheaper via a otg cable & thumb drive. In terms of video & audio choices, a great all in one player like Kodi gives way more options with Real Debrid as opposed to several installed standalone apps doing the same thing.
@@MrNewktrane never had good luck with kodi myself, all it wanted to do is lag and lock up.. and I think it took about 1.5 GB also
Hi Joe, thank you for your comments. However, I respectfully disagree with your opinion. Many power-related issues that users face while using the Firestick can be attributed to the failure of the USB cable. Therefore, being able to replace the micro-USB cable with a USB-C cable would be a significant advantage, as most people have spare USB-C cables. Since micro-USB is no longer considered the "standard," finding a spare micro-USB cable is less likely. Just to let you know, I have been using Kodi successfully on my Fire TV Stick Lite in my bedroom for a few years.
I have been using the new 4k max for a month now and all of a sudden none of my apps will launch. Do you have any info on this issue?
