World of Warships Can you guys make a game mode with historically accurate gun distance and shooting. It would be interesting to see. It doesn't have to have the fire control out come but make it as believable as if it was world war 1 and 2 battles at sea. I know it would be tough to do but it would be interesting to see what these paper ships or dock ships would have done in the real battle scenario.

I would like to see the ability to walk the decks (not operate guns or AA or go below deck) of these ships in 1st person while in port (not while in a mission) added to the game. Oh and fight the cook on the USS Missouri - [LOLZ]
Actually, the jean bart was the only resistance that the allied had to fear, most of the french sailors and soldiers didn't wanted to fight the americans, they got forced because of some "your are now my puppet government and forced to defend" law of the new nazi occupation, I'm french and personnaly, I'm glad to know it saw action during ww2 but I hate the fact that it was against you my fellow americans!
She was a sitting duck for Big Mimi taking 8 direct hits. In that battle USS Massachusetts sunk 9 other ships and had the most victory's in WWII for a US Battleship. Not to mention it was also credited with firing the first and last battleship guns of ww2.
Glad there is alot of effort passion and hard work within the designs in the game, that's why I don't complain about premium ships, especially Texas (Favorite ship)
I'd argue that, excluding the Yamato class (which really are in a league of their own), the Jean Bart is the best battleship ever built. She's better armored than an Iowa class, nearly as fast (and in anything other than glass calm waters, is even faster than an Iowa class), she cannot have her T crossed, has the best conventional AA battery ever fitted to a battleship, the greatest secondary battery ever fitted to a battleship, and arguably the best TDS ever fitted to a battleship as well. And she managed all of this while still being 10,000 tons lighter than an Iowa class. Her main battery, while 'only' 8x15" guns, is still more than adequate for a 35,000t battleship and more than capable of dealing with any other battleship of a similar size. In the very least, she is the most balanced battleship ever built. She has no glaring weakness, she is incredibly fast, incredibly well protected, and is potently armed, and she doesn't need to displace more than 50,000t to achieve as much.

I was more making a reference to the fact that the treaty battleships (of which Jean Bart was a member of) were limited to 35,000t rather than attempting to give an accurate measurement of the Jean Bart. I hope my explanation makes sense. To put it another way, you can take my statement and replace "35,000t" with "treaty" and get... "Her main battery, while 'only' 8x15" guns, is still more than adequate for a treaty battleship..."
Yeah, in paper Jean Bart and her sister were impresive pieces of craft. They were also probably the prettiest among treaty battleships (at least compared to Nelsons and Nagatos). There's something menacing about massing 4 of your guns in a same, single turret.
Richelieu class battleships did only sound good on paper tho. You are talking about the best conventional AA battery, but keep in mind that Jearn Bart was equipped with it only in 1950s. During WW2 Richelieus AA armament was incredibly bad, both due to guns and fire directors. Only after refit in USA and UK her AA became good with 40mm bofors guns and american radars. Her secondary battery was also lackluster - both French 152mm and 100mm guns were inferior to their contemporaries during WW2, and their fire directors highly inadequate. 152mm guns were placed poorly and could not engage at most angles, while 100mm had bad elevation and rotation speed, which rendered them useless for shooting both aircraft and small ships. For sure her armor was really good, maneuverability and speed aswell - but 2 very significant weaknesses were AA and firepower - main 380mm guns suffered from poor fire control, directors, badly designed ammunition feeding system and their shells had below average characteristics. Quad turrets were highly inaccurate, not to mention potential weakness of loosing half of ships' firepower if just one turret got disabled, and that was really easy because turrets armor was quite bad and even a glancing hit could result in a jamm, or even worse, because the armor inside turrets between pairs of guns was thin (that is literally what happened to JB).
@@Lehr-km5be Sorry for the confusion. I thought it was obvious that I was referring specifically to JB as completed. Richelieu was a complete shit show but most of her shortcomings were corrected for JB. JB did not suffer the loading or dispersion issues that Richelieu did as by the 1950s they had been ironed out. To reiterate, it is my opinion that JB as completed was the best, most balanced battleship under 60,000t ever built. The possibility of half her main firepower being taken out is a real threat, of course, but when you compare just how little of her deck space is taken up by main battery turrets it evens out with other battleships. JB only has 2 turrets, so a battleship with 3 or 4 turrets will be more likely to suffer a turret hit in the first place. It balances out in that regard.
All of he main armament was forward so I'm guessing that they didn't want her to run away from Attack she was always to go forward and assault whatever she was going after.
The art department makes all these great detailed models . . . Why can we not have a camera free-move option to examine them in detail like you do for this video?
A bit werid that one day after releasing this video you guys annouce that you are removing the ship from armory. Sometimes it feels like WG art department don't even talk to other departments lol
French bbs are beasts in combat they give me a run for my money in my german bbs my Bismarck is fully upgraded and upclose the secondarys on the French bbs are insane
It was a good ship and fast, it would have a formidabile AA arrangement and decent cannons albeit it was only 380mm. I understood that it had problems with the cannons and sheared a complicated arrangement of loaders that can only be loaded at a fixed position. It was a very unfortunate battleship that saw little action but in my opinion it could have been a better ship against the Littorio class with more modern sights and a more stable guns and higher quality shells and better gunpowder. Morever it was later installed radar both for aiming and for search. We shall never know how it was more effective...
@@estoyaqui5386 Guessing the fact the turret HP is too low. They are easily targeted and penned. It has reached the stage now where I am losing at least one turret on a regular basis. Permanent knock out.
@@vczs not really, the armor is quite decent on them, at least at the front. The real problem is their size, they're chunky as hell and every salvo fired at the front of the ship is a guaranteed hit on them.
@@ScarletGuts terms of AA? Jean is better than georgia with reload booster and speedboost. The only good about georgia is her secondaries and her speed with speedboost, her AA is decent but meh.
WG: historically rebuild Bismarck: not as accurate, not immune to torpedoes on the sides, no turtleback armor and bad aa. Me: ye, totally accurate WG 😂

Yamato camps Cus of HE spammers also armour and manoeuvrability isn’t great. To get Yamato not camping is to essentially change one of those aspects of the ship

While it is true that USS Massachusetts did engage briefly with Jean Bart, her hits did not lead to critical damage due to either over penetrating or detonating in an empty magazine. The minor damage which disabled Jean Bart's turret on the first day of Operation Torch was repaired which allowed her to take several salvos at USS Augusta, the flagship of TF 34 with Adm Hewitt aboard. While Augusta was able to pull back without suffering damage beyond being doused in yellow dye, Jean Bart was hit with a pair of 1000 lb bombs courtesy of USS Ranger which put her out of commission for the rest of the war.

technically, the first BB guns of WW2 were fired by the pre-dreadnought Schleswig-Holstein. She actually fired the first shots of WW2 in general.

It was a good ship and fast, it would have a formidabile AA arrangement and decent cannons albeit it was only 380mm. I understood that it had problems with the cannons and sheared a complicated arrangement of loaders that can only be loaded at a fixed position. It was a very unfortunate battleship that saw little action but in my opinion it could have been a better ship against the Littorio class with more modern sights and a more stable guns and higher quality shells and better gunpowder. Morever it was later installed radar both for aiming and for search. We shall never know how it was more effective...
I wont consider Jean Bart good until you fix the turret weakness.

@@estoyaqui5386 Guessing the fact the turret HP is too low. They are easily targeted and penned. It has reached the stage now where I am losing at least one turret on a regular basis. Permanent knock out.
It's usually due to flat and rather thin turret face armor. Anything over 203mm at medium ranges can penetrate those and deal damage to turret itself.
@@vczs not really, the armor is quite decent on them, at least at the front.
The real problem is their size, they're chunky as hell and every salvo fired at the front of the ship is a guaranteed hit on them.

@@ScarletGuts terms of AA? Jean is better than georgia with reload booster and speedboost. The only good about georgia is her secondaries and her speed with speedboost, her AA is decent but meh.

Yamato camps Cus of HE spammers also armour and manoeuvrability isn’t great. To get Yamato not camping is to essentially change one of those aspects of the ship

Wargaming, I searched if USS Massachusetts did battle FS Jean Bart, and you guys know what I found
NOTING!
While it is true that USS Massachusetts did engage briefly with Jean Bart, her hits did not lead to critical damage due to either over penetrating or detonating in an empty magazine. The minor damage which disabled Jean Bart's turret on the first day of Operation Torch was repaired which allowed her to take several salvos at USS Augusta, the flagship of TF 34 with Adm Hewitt aboard. While Augusta was able to pull back without suffering damage beyond being doused in yellow dye, Jean Bart was hit with a pair of 1000 lb bombs courtesy of USS Ranger which put her out of commission for the rest of the war.
