A320 Flight Simulator - Flying to Vienna in our home cockpit

- Welcome to our flight to Vienna. This is the first flight today that we have documented in our A320 cockpit. And how could it be otherwise, not everything worked out the way we wanted it to. But anyway, have fun watching! :-)

That's a very impressive cockpit! Really nice to see an A320 home cockpit running MSFS. Happy flying!

@@irishbigdan38 well, maybe I should point out, that the cockpit shown in the video is a series product of us (VIER IM POTT). In other words we sell these cockpits. So it was not THAT hard to convince my wife... 🙂
@@vierimpott I know the solution. Hire me on as your correspondent in the United States and let me have the product in my home so potential US Based customers can see it in person. It’s a win win situation and I don’t have to get a divorce dropping 30 thousand dollars on a dream cockpit.

i know its an obvious comment, but a 4090 or even 4080 will make a significant upgrade to its performance. Not just in RAW compute power but it enables features only specific to 40xx series cards. Nvidia Frame generation, along with minimul use of DLSS (Quality setting) will see a huge leap.
I went from a 3090 to a 4090 and saw my frames double , with my 1% lows hugely reduced (stutter) if not removed,
Of course it opens up a can of worms upgrading the card, i then had to get a new power supply to run the damn thing , along with further cooling solutions to keep the unit under 65 degrees. (max internal GPU boost clocks)

Thanks a lot! In fact, this is a discussion I am having with my wife.... 🙂 I am aware that in my case it would be a business invest, however a new computer is a costy thing. Let's see. For now we are doing experiments with a frame generation plug-in. I think this will be another video.... 🙂
Always clean the cash which is located in Nvidia folder Appdata/Local/Nvidia. That will help to prevent shutters as well :)

Thank you very much for this very impressive Video. The scenery details are outstanding compared with a certified crew training full flight simulator facility. This creates a special fascination for „home“ and professional use, where affordable and where dreams can become true ! My respect !

As far as I can tell the music is called "Happy" and is part of the free music package that comes with "Microsoft Climpchamp", that is freely available on a Windows 11 PC. Hope that helps....

What flight sim software is used in professional flight simulators (the ones used for pilot certification for a320s/737s etc)? Is it MSFS, X-Plane or something completely different?
I think the most common used software for training is Prepar3D. Does that make sense?
The Training Software in the Level-D sim is completely different. They need to be Verified. But I heard that there is also a X-Plane Professional version that is used but I can’t confirm that.
It's custom software. There are some professionally used solutions that are available commercially (e.g. Prosim), but otherwise its proprietary software by the simulator manufacturers.
I am building flight sims since 2009, most of them are for entertainment with motion platforms. In my experience i used XP and P3D and should say that XP picture is more smooth because somehow p3d can loose someframes. Another big advantage of XP you can separate graphic PC even you can do each PC -each channel configuration.
The main problem is that software devs such as prosim doesn't support XP for some reasons and mapping and adjusting everything brings a lot of headache.
Since 2020 was released it was a big hope to jump on it, but we have meet another challenge. 1) How to do normal 210 degree picture 2) 4k projectors is mandatory ( because on worse optics you will not see all the beautify of 2020) 3) FPS. My requirement is 35 minimum during Takeoff at busy area.
Now i am finishing 737. With 4080 and some lua scripts i ve got 40 fps on XP12. On high levels it's becomes up to 80. Thinking about to try again 2020, just need to review forums how people setup wide screen angle without losses.
Im MSFS sieht es deutlich besser aus als in P3D, allerdings kann es anspruchsvoll für CPU und GPU sein. Eine Grafikkarte wie die 4080 sollte für diesen beeindruckenden Simulator perfekt sein. Außerdem lässt das echte Wetter den Anflug realistischer erscheinen.

Unfortunately Fenix is still not officially supported. But rumours say..... We are using ProSim A320.
Update: I think we are coming nearer with the Fenix support...! 🙂
