If you install under the seats, Make sure you leave enough wire for the driver or passenger to adjust the seat forwards or backwards so that they don't end up pulling the wires out of hiding or snapping them altogether.
I've already ordered one of this, in the mean time, I'm getting my Playlist hooked up with super dramatic music to get the feeling right while installing it.
dang. I was expecting some crappy video of some guy trying to figure out how to install them but it was very well walked through and very clear. A+ guys!
Hey, this kit can be found right here th-cam.com/users/redirect?event=video_description&v=5eAxe6jpBnM&redir_token=-fiDzvM8grsnJEwfEHBlz6dGaqx8MTUxMDA2ODE4MUAxNTA5OTgxNzgx&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ledunderbody.com%2F7-Color-4pc-LEDGlow-LED-Interior-Lights-Lighting-Kit.aspx Cheers, LEDGlow Team
If you don't feel like removing parts on your car, you can always use high grade velcro to mount the lights. Makes them easier to remove if you have to replace your led strips at any point.
if mounting to your seats make sure you have enough wire to move seat forward and back and make sure the wires dont get pinched in the track. had this issue years ago when neons were just starting to make it big on the scene
For anyone confused on the best way to power these, use a fuse extender/adapter and tap into the cigar lighter fuse, for many vehicles it may also be called "Auxiliary power". Simply wire the lead from the extender to the positive lead from the module and ground the module to chassis. Using this method, it only took me 10 minutes to get the lights powered and another 10 to get light wires run and tucked under the trim.
I bought these and put them in my 06 trailblazer (had to cut some carpet to put them in but that's just my car) one tip to do is if you buy the adapter make sure the play where you crimp them is easily accessible because sometime they may or may not unplug. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to my friends!!!
Had my 7 color interior kit in my last car since 2010 i recently got a new car and it's now in there and the kit works just like before and still fantastic looking
I live in Sweden and my friend from America told me about this. So I bought it! The shipping did cost more than the LED lights + adapter, but it was totally worth it! Didn't know if this was going to work but it did. It's really Awesome!
I don't even own this product, I was just curious how this is done. Without a doubt one of the best how to videos from an OEM I've ever seen in my life.
I just bought my 6 piece LED light kit and here's some tips on how I installed it. 1) don't mount anything in place until your finished. 2) pick a easy un used fuse (I used my windshield wipers (15A) 3) the easiest place I found a ground was removing the plastic under my steering wheel. There's plenty of un painted sources. 4) hide your excesses wires near the tubes not all by the control box. I have all my wires under my seat and even though I bunched them up with zip ties there still messy. 5) run the wire if you need to under your floor mats. Makes for an easy quick instal. 6) clear a whole day to do this. Took me 4 hours to set it up the way I like it. 7) disconnect your battery before starting. 8) these are dim during the day. And are decently bright at night, I do not recommend strobe. If you get strobe it's difficult to drive. 9) SAVE YOU THE TROUBLE, SPEND THE $3.21 (In California) FOR A PACK OF 16-14 GAUGE RING TERMINALS! Look I know you just spent more money on that (1/2)
Silly adapter, by having that made my instal 1,000,000x easier, thread it though your bolt and attach. Wasn't too happy that they didn't include one. (PS if that size ring won't fit your bolt, take a drill bit and slowly widen the hole) 10) take your time and don't get frustrated. 11) to instal the back lights I zip tied them to the coils in the seats, turned out really good. 12) BUY EXTRA Zip ties! I only used the cheap black ones they gave me to bunch my wires together, they only gave me 6 cheap zip ties. Again spend the extra money and get thicker CLEAR zip ties ( when you use clear the colour shines through, instead of casting a shadow) I got my zip ties from work, so free!! :) 11) Get another persons help, Ik I asked my brother for ideas on how to hide the wires, who knows he/ she might have an idea you didn't even think of. 12) find a good place to hide that control box. I put mine in between the seat and the door. For easy access. Every car is different. (2/3)
13) Slide the seat around and make sure it doesn't catch any wires. It also gives you more working space. 14) if you zip tie the LED strip on the leaver that slides you seat. The LED tends to slide around and move when you move your seat. Just be careful and don't move it too much. 14. I don't like how they installed it under the drivers side. I followed that and I just didn't get as much light as the other seats. I recommend using the tape or Velcro to place the front two (drivers and passenger) makes it easier. 15) I had difficulty reaching my power and ground. I recommend placing them as close as you can together. Makes for an easer install. 16) I did mine on a 2011 Kia Soul + and I'll post a video soon when I work out the kinks. Hopefully this helps someone!
Nobody answered you , so I'll do it: your 3 part comment is amazing. Silly question though: what is a gauge ring terminal? (non native English speaker there, Google didn't informed me clearly) Thanks!
Did not read through all of the comments, but only thing I would suggest to people is to leave enough wire in case the position of the seat changes and a taller driver moves the seat back. Not having enough wire could pull on the lights or the control box and possibly break a wire in either location. (Have seen this happen a few times)
Hey Jaime, at the moment you can buy our bluetooth control box and connect the interior tubes to it in order to get the desired effect you are looking for as well. Cheers, LEDGlow Team
After watching this video I do have just one question. Does this come with zip ties included or sold separately... you know I don’t think he said it enough.
I bought these like a year or two ago. Still have them, they still work great in my car. I want to do the same for the exterior of my car, but I feel its going to be a problem with the cops. I live in Alabama, and im right next to georgia.
+Victor H. That would be perfectly fine. Some of the patterns the kit comes with would be rendered useless, but you can certainly only use one tube if you wanted.
LR Cloud with an aftermarket fuse box controlled by the ignition if you plan on adding additional accessories in the future. If not just direct to the battery.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal before you start, from the (normally if you were creating something on your own you'd have to figure out the amperage draw to determine how thick of a wire you need but this is an already made product) cut the end of the wire and strip the plastic off of it and crimp on a connector, loosen the positive battery terminal stick the newly crimped wire to the bolt location on the battery terminal and tighten, (same for the negative unless you want to ground it inside the cabin somewhere) run the wires through the firewall to desired mounting location then mount it)
just put this in a 97 explorer with cigarette adapter. I ran control box underneath display console. To change settings I just reach into cd storage now, no wires shown
Question, do the lights only cycle through the colors, or can you have it set to just one particular color? I'm really digging the way you're presenting your product, and this DIY video makes it seem like i can even do it! Great job guys (:
+Yogangster1995 Thanks for the interest in our product! Our multi-color kits, do give you the option of either cycling through the colors or keeping one color on steady.
Hey Austin, you got a pretty sweet daily driver from the sound of it! Our lights will work on anything as long as you have a 12 volt connection. Can't wait to see what they look like on a German steam engine! Cheers, LEDGlow Team
Yes but then your out of a 12v power unless you buy a unit to give you more 12v outlets (cigarette lighter unit) I would agree some years ago but now they have adapters for adapters lol but you can put it in the fish box without alot of hard wiring and connect it to the dash lights then you can dim them if you wanted too .I'm just saying that's my way
I'm not sure if I missed this part, but where do you hook up the power source? Can I not just splice into the original lights wiring in my car? Or do you splice it into the cig wiring? Let me know before I blow my car up thanks lol.
Thank you for the interest in our product! These kits work off a 12 volt power source, so any location it can receive 12 volts of power from will work perfect fine.
love you and love this, even though im too young to have my own car and i dont have enoguh room to be abel to have loose electronic parts and stuff in my parents house XD
Im really excited to purchase thesr LED lights, one question is when i turn on the Lights on , can i change the color when i want ? Like if i want it blue nothing else will it stay? Or does it just cycle to all the colors no matter what?
+hugo villegas Thank you for the interest in our product! These kits can be set to show one solid color only, instead of just cycling through colors and patterns.
Was looking at accent lighting for my home and ran into this video... Do people still do this? I know it was really popular in the early 2000s (after The F&F movies first came out), but I thought it was just a fad... I don't know about the lights flashing to music, but I kinda like a nice soft glow in the foot wells...
Love the narrator kind of sounds like the guy from the old Need for Speed III game. Do you sell your kits on eBay? Am in Australia. Also was wondering if you could some how attach it to your head unit which changes colour also and make it change colours in sync or even controlling the LEDs from the head unit
+Goran Svraka Thanks for the interest in our product! We do sell our product on eBay, as well as directly through our website. As far as attaching the kits to you head unit, that would not possible.
If you install under the seats, Make sure you leave enough wire for the driver or passenger to adjust the seat forwards or backwards so that they don't end up pulling the wires out of hiding or snapping them altogether.
Good tip i will make sure to move the seat as far back as possible first before installing back leds
I made this exact misyoe
Buddy Lee just put some in the exact way you explain lol looks better than having it under the glove box and and steering wheel

Right. Not trying to disassemble a Mercedes Benz.

Hussain Rabia what’s the point of them
xTGx Phyzix Atmosphere.
This might be a dumb question but do u need a car to have these cause I live in my closet and I want to put them in there
Hi, as long as you have a 12v connection for the lights to be powered then they will work just fine. Cheers, LEDGlow Team
It's 2019..you should just come out of the closet.
God dammit
you live in a closet, Harry Potter? 😂

Silly question though: what is a gauge ring terminal? (non native English speaker there, Google didn't informed me clearly)
Thanks!
When he says "16-14 gauge" he is referring to the size of the wire. A "ring terminal" is a wire connector that has a circular end on it with a hole.
I would totally buy this if i wasn't making my own custom led install. you guys are great

OMG I'm loving your cable management
Really like the music in the video very cool!!
That's gotta be the most badass explanation video.
Just to let you people know, The way its done in this vide is the real way to do it......Do not go to some butcher and do it.
These would look cool in an SUV under each seat so each row has a glowing area. Awesome accents for a road trip at night too.
All I wanted to know was the electrics... the one bit he didn’t cover
At the end, he gives you options to check out different videos on power sources, watch all the way till the end.

This was a surprisingly entertaining DIY video wow...
My kit quit working I believe It shorted out but it's an amazing kit and I loved it while I had it I would buy one again for sure
The tension , the drama ! I expect some bomb go off at any second :)))
Can these work on my skateboard
If you can find a way to keep the kit constantly powered with a solid grounding source then yes.
Hahaha very funny!😂😂 lmao

LMAO
On my truck my power source is a battery box with some batteries in it like 9 of them
I can’t believe both how riced and how clean that Mazda is
The most intense tutorial ever.
I've been thinking about doing something like this in my vehicles. Now I know who I am buying from when I have more cash. Price is even pretty good.
Feels like its an action movie with this background music
Awesome vid! Love that interior look! We use them as headlights, but hadn’t tried inside the car yet...gonna give that a shot!
Also in case you all forget, be sure to install them with the zip ties that are provided

I bought these like a year or two ago. Still have them, they still work great in my car. I want to do the same for the exterior of my car, but I feel its going to be a problem with the cops. I live in Alabama, and im right next to georgia.
+Allen Winget The best thing to do would be to talk to your local municipality regarding the laws of underbody lights on motor vehicles in your area.
+LEDGlow Hey do you have to use them all? I mean what do you do if you only wanna use 1 ledglow stick and not all of them?
+Victor H. That would be perfectly fine. Some of the patterns the kit comes with would be rendered useless, but you can certainly only use one tube if you wanted.
Now I know that I can make my 98 Honda CR-V looking nice
Which is the best way to wire it, to the battery, through the cig lighter, or the fuse box
If had to make a list from first to last, it would go: battery, fuse box and then cigarette lighter.
LEDGlow how would you wire it to the battery?
Justin Murphy why not watch the video? -_-
LR Cloud with an aftermarket fuse box controlled by the ignition if you plan on adding additional accessories in the future. If not just direct to the battery.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal before you start, from the (normally if you were creating something on your own you'd have to figure out the amperage draw to determine how thick of a wire you need but this is an already made product) cut the end of the wire and strip the plastic off of it and crimp on a connector, loosen the positive battery terminal stick the newly crimped wire to the bolt location on the battery terminal and tighten, (same for the negative unless you want to ground it inside the cabin somewhere) run the wires through the firewall to desired mounting location then mount it)
Awesome! This has worked for my love when he swooped up the Charger. Red is a fun attractive 2.
just put this in a 97 explorer with cigarette adapter. I ran control box underneath display console. To change settings I just reach into cd storage now, no wires shown
I like your idea, so you just replace your cegarette lighter ?
Most epic installation music ever
is this water proof, can it be run through fire wall to engine bay or hood scoops?
Unfortunately this kit is not waterproof and would have to be kept inside of the vehicle.
it would be cool if you could make something like this, but more heavy duty and waterproof ofcourse
im sure they make an external light kit... I just watched the video for install before this one :D
love it, just 1 quest? if I connect those led lights just wit cigarette power adapter can it be able to work properly?????
+Anthony Q92 Yes, of course! We actually sell our own cigarette lighter adapter that will work perfectly fine.
Ok thank I will be buying a kit soon!
Bout to get me a wrx and throw in a bunch of glow
Hey, love hearing that, car is gonna look awesome!
Nice Armageddon music! Are you all installing LED lights or planning to take over the world?
😈
Will this work on my 1912 Ford?
+Ethan Nunnally Thanks for the interest in our product! These kits will work with any vehicle that can supply them with 12 volts of power.
Question, do the lights only cycle through the colors, or can you have it set to just one particular color? I'm really digging the way you're presenting your product, and this DIY video makes it seem like i can even do it! Great job guys (:

Will this work on my German steam engine?
Hey Austin, you got a pretty sweet daily driver from the sound of it! Our lights will work on anything as long as you have a 12 volt connection. Can't wait to see what they look like on a German steam engine! Cheers, LEDGlow Team
Awesome!! Thanks for the full details. I'm gonna add these lights on my Ford Ikon ZXI
i feel like the cigarette lighter is the simplest and easiest way
Sir Domino agreed
i wish
Yes but then your out of a 12v power unless you buy a unit to give you more 12v outlets (cigarette lighter unit) I would agree some years ago but now they have adapters for adapters lol but you can put it in the fish box without alot of hard wiring and connect it to the dash lights then you can dim them if you wanted too .I'm just saying that's my way
Interior on point x
