I like this cheap and almost free solution. I ended up doing the lens filter and adjustable iris mod that you can find all over amazon and ebay.

Very good video, your channel helps me a lot to save money and put my creativity into practice, I'm making my own PV 14 with camera materials and I needed an idea to make a cover, thank you!

I've been watching your videos some time and used them as guides to make my own chest rig, and many other of your projects. Your channel has been a great guide on how to make needed items while on a budget. I'll make this as well, but I've been hoping that you might dive into a guide on how to make the Crye Nightcap. Any plans to make those or similar night vision mounts? My helmet is bulky and aftermarket stuff is ridiculously priced. Look forward to seeing your future projects. Fantastic content. Please keep it up.

Thanks for the support. As of now I don’t have any plans to dupe the nightcap. The only night vision related contend I see on my horizon is a video on the villain systems VIR2 focus cap or maybe a 3D printed bridge if I ever get helmet mounted thermal.

Cause of you good sir, I now have 3 setups. Higher, Mid, and DIY. I use my DIY the most to see how well my craftings skills are, and where I can fix/modify to make it more my own. And once I have something I like/works….it gets redone and moves up to my Mid kit lol

I like that! Making my own kit, more than anything else, helps me understand what works together and what I can change to meet my needs.

Damn, that's a good simple design. I'll have to print one up... whenever I get some night vision.
Just want to say, your channel is awesome. I printed the lightcaps out that you designed and have one on my rifle and it works great. I'm on the lookout for a better sewing machine so I can make some of my own gear.
Any chance of a video on making a chest rig like the Hill People Gear one?

I’m not familiar with that one so I’ll have to look into it. I am only moderately satisfied with my current rig so I’ll probably be making another at some point.

Ay mate, your videos are great. Is there a possibility you could show how to make a more equiped plate carrier?

That’s on the list. I’ll eventually get around to it.

You have some interesting prints. What design software and slicer have you settled on? And which OS?

Fusion 360 is my preferred CAD software. I don’t have a preference regarding the others.

What do you coat your ring with? I've been trying to find something matte, durable and cheap!

      What ring?

    • @GarnXCII
      @GarnXCII 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I knew I should have specified; the ring on your finger! Unless it's just a straight up plastic one.
Great content by the way, happy to have found your channel@@thriftyoperator637

@@GarnXCII oh yeah. It’s just a silicone one. I work in heavy industry so solid ones aren’t an option due to the snag hazard.
