I guess in the Elle Woods case that’s why Reese Witherspoon and Christina Applegate never did an episode together as Rachel’s sisters on Friends
Probably
I remember Daniel Stern *nearly* passing on Home Alone and saying how he can’t believe he almost missed out on that opportunity.
I read that Molly Ringwald was offered both Julia Roberts' role in "Pretty Woman", and Demi Moore's in "Ghost", with the character literally being named "Molly" in the latter case. Needless to say, she regrets turning them down.
I can't imagine Molly in both roles although it would be interesting in an alternative universe.
Like she said to the sales woman “big mistake Huge mistake”
Molly also turned down “Silence of The Lambs” too. I don’t think she regretted that opportunity to my knowledge, but a number of the other actresses who said no to that film kicked themselves when the movie became a surprise hit & got Jodie her 2nd Oscar
Well, I can't imagine Will Smith playing Neo. Will is a good actor, but Keanu is another level.
His video on his own channel is interesting and funny; the Wachowski pitch seems confusing.
Jodi was the better option for SOTL for sure. I love Michelle Pfeiifer, don't get me wrong, but not for Clarice Starling
Eh I think she would have done well
I gotta be honest, some of these were better off with who ended up being in the finished project.
For example, I love Michelle Pfeiffer, but I can't see anyone pull off that perfectly realistic and established character like Jodie Foster
Michelle likely would’ve been great, but Jodie Foster played the role perfectly
Disagree, I’m sure she would have done well
I can’t imagine Eddie Murphy being in who framed Roger rabbit he’s a good actor a great comedian and the movie is a comedy, but that’s not a comic role for the detective and he was pretty young only 27! During the film
Bob Haskins was PERFECT
Michelle Pfeiffer turned down Thelma and Louise
Yikes. Yet she had no issue starring in Grease 2 😂
😂😂😂
@@amandaredd3057That was much earlier in her career, and she was not as known.
@@fromthehaven94 I know, I know, I was only kidding. I actually loved that movie and her in it as a kid, anyways.
Thank goodness.
I loved Christina Applegate in The Sweetest Thing. Loved that whole movie!
Miranda Richardson turned down Fatal Attraction (1987)
John Travolta, Forest Gump.
Kim Basinger - "Basic Instinct" (1992)
Like the guys who turned down superhero movies, the actresses who turned down Sharon Stone's role in Basic Instinct is also long.
I can't imagine Grease without John Travolta
BUT would the movie have been a hit if those actors did get the job? Something to think about.
I think *_The Matrix_* would've _definitely_ been a financial success with Will Smith in the role of Neo; Will was absolutely money at the box office back then.
The studio may have made them recast Trinity with a Black actress though because interracial relationships, while becoming more acceptable in society, were still risky at the box office.
Probably, unless they did a terrible job
You guys took this out from an article. I read it a day or so ago
Tom Selleck, Indiana Jones 😂
Heath Ledger turned down the role of Batman in Batman Begins, but he was able to be in the Dark Knight as Joker. It would be interesting to see an alternate universe where he played Batman.
That would’ve been interesting
interesting list. I could see most of them doing well in the roles they passed on and I agree Reese did the role well but I’m sure Christina would have too. It’s also interesting how dismissive people are about potential casting. Reminds me of when Heath Ledger was cast as the joker and everyone was dogging the decision saying it was horrible casting and then they all freaking loved it.
Keanu Reeves for The Matrix had the perfect 'linear' face and body type. I can't imagine Will Smith's more rounded yet 'chunky' features suiting the part.
Happy monday night, Rebecca. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤
I knew Dustin Hoffman was going to be on this list because I also just researched that he turned down Taxi Driver, thinking it would be too violent.
Tom Selleck was almost Indiana Jones
I think Neo worked precisely because of Keanu's stoic acting and Asian features.
Also, I still like Wild Wild West.
Yes I think they both got the right roles for themselves
Burt Reynolds turned down a whole bunch of roles that became successful.
Burt didn’t exactly make the smartest film choices & sometimes when he did get a good part he would badmouth the film afterwards; look at “Boogie Nights”, he got a lot of praise for his work in it and wasn’t exactly grateful to P.T. Anderson for attempting to revitalize his career
I know that Burt Reynolds was offered roles in "M*A*S*H" and "Terms of Endearment". Not only did he regret turning those roles down, but even when he was still a huge movie star, he described the regret he felt like going into his back yard and hitting himself in the face with a shovel.
I don't know if this includes voice actors, but Billy Crystal and Buzz Lightyear.
Out of all these, i want to see Michelle Pfeiffer in the Silence of the Lambs. She will definitely give a different take than Jodie did.
So Eddie Murphy was in Imagine That, Dr. Dolittle, Meet Dave, and The Adventures of Pluto Nash, but turned down Roger Rabbit because it didn't make sense? Huh??
Pluto Nash is the movie that makes no sense & boy did that hurt his career for years. Bob Hoskins was the right choice in the end
@@LucyLioness100 I was trying to list movies Murphy has made that would have made little to no sense from just reading the script, like he apparently did with WFRR. But yeah, I totally agree with you about Pluto Nash
I don’t know the timeline but maybe he chose those from he felt he learned from passing on that rabbit one
For number 1 The Bourne ultimatum was actually a good movie and he was the number one main character for avatar there’s several main characters
I think the movies, became what they were suppose to be, and with the right actors for the roles.
Dustin Hoffman instead of De Niro? NFW!
I don't blame them
Checking for Will Smith as Neo in the matrix
My thoughts on this - everything happens for a reason
Matt Damon made the right decision. James Cameron is a self-indulgent producer who makes commercially popular bad movies. The Bourne series was masterclass.
I don’t think it was either/or. Cameron is not exactly known for quick turnaround on movies, so I’m betting Damon could have finished The Bourne Ultimatum before Avatar.
John Travolta - Forrest Gump (1994)
There's no greater regret than lost opportunity.
2 legally blondes (one is almost but still count it) played rachels sister
Grease wouldhave never worked with Henery Winkler as Danny. All anyone wood have seen was Fonzie.
Yeah Matt Damon was a dunce for turning down Avatar even if Sam Worthington was really great in it
there most parallel universe where most there actors choice do part in instead of turning down the role
Hi @MsMojo, Can you Please Make A Video of Simon Oakland and Kenneth Tobey Right Now, This Minute, And Everyday Wonderful Work as Usual? Thank You So Very Much! Love LaShonda 😍💓😍❤️💓💓😍💓😍🥺📸📷▶️👍🏾😊😘💕💘😙
Matrix would have been a disaster with Will Smith as Neo. Can't imagine anyone else other than Keanu Reeves in the role. Have enjoyed Will Smith in the MIB roles but Matrix was far from any comedy and not sure he has the chops for it.
Bet Will Smith also regret being in Wild Wild West
Except for the money, Matt Damon made the right decision to stay away from Avatar.
Reese Witheredpoon.
Will Smith slapping himself for regretting the role of the matrix, but when you think about it, he kinda dodged a bullet because the last 3 sequels sucked
