They got together during the filming of the Dr.Quinn pilot, then went to Bora-Bora on vacation, had a big fight there, and broke up; after they returned they got the news that Dr Quinn was picked up by the network and they had to play lovers for the six years while in real life they were freshly broken up lol Iit's such a shame it didn't work out between them in real life, they were brilliant and amazing together!
Nina and Ian were true professionals for continuing to work together, with no apparent tension, after their break up. Ironically enough, that was JUST when their characters got together.
Not sure there wasn't eventual tension between them considering Nina left the show before it finished. And for some it felt obvious with their opinions of the feeling of awkwardness in their reunion scenes and lack of onscreen chemistry that they previously had in spades. Since "The Notebook" was filmed from November 7, 2002- Feb 3, 2003 and the movie was released June 25, 2004 and they didn't get together for another year, let's just say they are both good actors because it was over 2 years after filming stopped until they were together. I haven't seen any comments from Ryan on the 10th anniversary in 2014, but then Eva was about to make him a father in a couple of months.

The only difference is that Joe and Jane were not together during the filming of the show, but met and got together during the filming of the first version of the pilot and didn't know at that time if the network would pick up the show. They got together for a few months, and fell crazy in love with each other, but then had a huge fight during their vacation on Bora-Bora and broke up, and then after they returned, they got the news that CBS picked up Dr. Quinn, and they have to play lovers for a few years! While they were freshly broken up in real life, and their feelings were still raging, especially Joe who was madly in love with Jane and his heart broken. That must have been very hard to deal with! But they remained very professional during the whole run of the show, even tho Joe was clearly hurt still, and Jane said they had this period of not speaking to each other between scenes, during the breaks from filming their scenes lol And now they are the best of friends!

I don't think romantic love is real or special, and I think romantic relationships are a bad thing. More than half of romantic relationships end in a breakup/divorce. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. Romance seems like an ugly thing. It does seem that nearly all fathers are hoping that their daughters never date or get married and remain single for their whole life. Romantic relationships seem like a bad thing since there is a lot of dangers when it comes to them. The overprotective father thing is proof that romantic relationships are a bad thing, and this world would be a much better place without them. If someday that the human race ditches the concept of romance and romantic relationships, and got rid of stuff like dating and marriage, fathers would be happy about it since they wouldn't ever have to worry about their daughters ever dating if that ever happened.

I don't think romantic love is real or special, and I think romantic relationships are a bad thing. More than half of romantic relationships end in a breakup/divorce. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. Romance seems like an ugly thing.
It does seem that nearly all fathers are hoping that their daughters never date or get married and remain single for their whole life. Romantic relationships seem like a bad thing since there is a lot of dangers when it comes to them.
The overprotective father thing is proof that romantic relationships are a bad thing, and this world would be a much better place without them.
If someday that the human race ditches the concept of romance and romantic relationships, and got rid of stuff like dating and marriage, fathers would be happy about it since they wouldn't ever have to worry about their daughters ever dating if that ever happened.

Even though marriage worked out for him and he loved all his children and his wife loads before he permanently lost his mind you can see it wasn't the same for his parents or siblings. You can't blame him for wanting to keep his daughters unwed cause as a man he knew how society could mistreat them and apparently he loved his daughters more than his sons hence when his only legitimate Grandchild at the time was a girl he was delighted whereas his eldest child was a little ticked off he didn't sire a legitimate male heir

Romantic relationships are dangerous, and there's a high chance that someone (especially if they're female) of getting hurt from being in one. There's a reason why the idea of their daughters dating and getting married someday is often considered a father's worst fear when it comes to them having daughters.
Romantic relationships should be removed from this world. So, fathers with daughters would have less things to worry about.
