I too had a big gas before my 02 f350 crew bab long bed 7.3. Prior, I had a 99 ram 2500 8.0 V10. I absolutely loved my 488, it pulled everything I ever asked it to. I know those 8.1's are absolute monsters too. But you just can beat the diesel experience. 👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Would love to see an actual Dyno test on the Hydra tuner, we don't have all the settings that you do we have 40,65 and 100, for daily driving we keep it in 65, and then we have three towing, stock, high idle and a no start, it's amazing what the Hydra does to the 7.3, but I would love to see some true Dyno numbers on these especially Torque
I only have 13 modes on my 97 with stage 2 kc turbo. Also all the modes are in order 10dd +40hp 11dd +80hp 12 performance +65hp 13 performance 80hp. Also have 5 in straight pipe and cold air intake.
I have a 2000 f350 plow truck and planning on tuning, how hard is it to see the computer code needed before ordering tuner. I had a new 6.4 I bought new & I tuned it at 30,000kms i put a sparten tuner in it and absolutely loved it, i ran a 210 tow tune everyday so that was 210 + 350 so 560hp everyday, tried the 275 race tune once but the black smoke (Coals) was heavy & mto was nailing everyone, that tune was insane especially shifting i felt th dash rattle, had that truck with no major issues for 13yrs till the roof rotted out! Ran great when i sold it also. Replaced it with a new 7.3 Godzilla. But i got my old girl that I drive everyday but need backup for my jobs
What up bro. So i dont have the hydra tuner but im running 150hp gain in my current tuner in mu 7.3 excursion. I bulletproofed the transmisiom and km not kidding, k get rediculous gas mileage... pulling close to 20,
hey sorry but i’m not too good with engines and transmissions, but when bulletproofing the trans, does that mean i wouldn’t have to worry about it shredding itself apart when running some of these higher hp modes at WOT?
If you use one the chip tuners can you roll coal on stock injectors? I wanna roll some from time to time for fun but don’t want to blow my 290k mile tranny right away lmao.
i see lots of videos about the hydra tuning platform, I also see that their are many sites such as 1023, jelibuilt, and full force diesel. does it matter which one, is thier a certain one that is better than the others.
If you have a stock truck you don't need the custom tunes. Only time you need the custom tunes such as 1023 or Jelibuilt would be if you have upgraded injectors, turbo, trans, etc.
@@maxwellnelson762 the basic out of the box tune is from PHP themselves which are free once you buy the tuner. You do not need to purchase custom tunes (any brand of tunes) unless you start upgrading things like injectors. The PHP Hydra will come blank and you will just need to hook it up to a computer with cable provided and install whatever tunes you want that they have available for that make and model. (This is where you set your positions i.e. "high idle" in position 2 if that is where you want it)
Full Force Diesel Performance is great at this. They also have actual techs that answer the phone and will help you with any issues or questions you may have after you purchase the product from them.
I got a 01 250 reg cab 2wd 7.3. 5” turbo back exhaust. Stock engine. First diesel. Love it. Had an 8.1Gaser big block prior.

That 8.1 pulled more then a diesel at some points, till she blew rod bearings , then it was toast lol
You can always adjust what tune is in what slot on the hydra flash software. So if you want towing next to each other you can switch them around.

The 7.3 is king!!!...I love working on them. Old school as well a reliability...even with the hydrachip

Whisper mode is just to lower the idle for drive thru food
So do you have anything done with your fuel system ? Pump , injectors?

If you put it on dead pedal mode, what stops a thief from just clicking it on a different mode.
You can pull the tuner and it will stay on the mode

Who does dyno runs with these tuners? I feel like it changes shift points and does very little for hp and torque..
Can you do this on the fly or no?
I’ve changed them while stopped at light for instance but have not done it while actually on the throttle or cruising
