You are very skilled at using the bobcat and the dumper. Those two resources are making a huge difference in the speed in which you are clearing the land. Nice work.
Your channel and Martijn's make me question my life choices. Why am I watching this from my city apartment instead of building my own house in the mountains of Italy? I am looking forward to see the next episode!
Wee Greta will be having an aneurism seeing the old war horse weezing like that 😂😂😂😂 I love seeing these old machines still working away helping us do the hard tasks, and to shamelessly paraphrase Arnie in Terminator Genesis... Old not obsolete 👍 Aye maybe a 4wd one would be easier on the hills, but honestly where's the fun in that? 😉👍 Great work sir, thanks for sharing
Travis, please enable automatic subtitles from youtube so everyone can read in their own language. It will make it easier to watch your videos. And good luck with your home renovation! I can't wait to watch part 4 already!
This channel gonna blow up! Glad I’m here early 👍🏻. Seems a bloody nice chap and damn clever to boot. He don’t need no Redwings to make a point. Good luck and God bless you all with this wonderful adventure. From an Englishman renovating a cabin in the Small Carpathian’s Slovakia. Take care.
Hi Travis Great to see you back mate. Your accent sounds Australian? Plus your hat looks the part. Looking forward to future videos. Cheers from Australia 👍
The dumper is a game changer for sure. Those machines are saving you so much time and effort, well worth it. 👍 Epic update, looking amazing on the first job.👌
Nice to see how you handel those machines. And the nature parts you put in are beautiful☺. For the road i think you need small rocks. Or you can buy (rent) a small Mobile rock crushers, because with the rain you will not be able to get up any more.
I was hoping for a peek inside the corner out building you discovered while improving the driveway!!! Looking forward to your journey as you claim your Italian homestead!
I'm excited to watch your progress and what you do with the ruin. Best wishes! Tell us about your plans, we would love to hear them. I'm sure you'll share the plans (blueprint) of the house in future videos.👍
You seem to pull skills out of your @$$ for everything! 😂 True Jack of all trades. I admire you and your wife's grit and determination to make this dream a reality. I wish I were closer and I'm a different situation as I wouldn't hesitate to roll up my sleeves and help out as I'm sure many of your fans would too so don't hesitate to put out a calling for volunteers in the area. Best wishes to you both.
Very ingenious. I have no doubt you will fix that house you certainly have plenty of skills to call upon, well done I look forward to seeing what comes next.
really enjoyed the video. i'm someone who will always encourage people to try things out to learn it by doing it. but from time to time it's nice to see someone who already got a good level of skills. and boy, i really have a soft spot for those old machines. they're build to last. simple but good. imagine a modern dumper having to start after sitting for a year in those conditions. would never happen. good luck with the project. greetings from germany.
There is more than one War Horse on this project - Travis, that was incredible - I kept asking myself, how is he going to get the dumper off the trailer? WOW. Great job! My question is: how will you treat the road surface? Do you plan to spread any material? One heavy rain and that road will turn into a river of mud. These are fun videos to watch - good luck!
Thanks for taking us viewers on this journey with you. Really fun to see someone so resourceful putting energy in a beautiful project like this. I hope you will enjoy it for years to come. And hopefully via these videos, we can too.
TH-cam suggested this video on my home page. Watched the first opening sequence and knew I was going to enjoy your series. Have now watched from Ep 1, caught up, and subscribed. 👌 Thank you for bringing us along for the journey 😊
Man , you’ve got a lot of skills and knowledge , knowing exactly what, how or when to be done. I am glad that I’ve found your channel. I am Italian now living in Brazil.
Greetings from South Australia… Having seen the state of the building after you uncovered it, I was left wondering if you were up to the task of making it habitable. But after watching this latest episode, I can see that you clearly have skills. Oh, and well done on working out how to unload the War Horse from your trailer: it was a pleasure to watch, though somewhat nerve wracking.
I am a new subscriber and I'm enjoying your channel. I have a couple points I'd like to make after watching you use the mini excavator and a mini dump truck. I would suggest that you invest in a weed wacker and a chainsaw to clear out the undergrowth. Push the dirt downhill. Don't use the mini dump to take it uphill.
Hope the widened road does not get too muddy or slippery. Compacting and coarse gravel will help traction. Beautiful, nearby spring, fresh water source.
😂😂 I used to use one of those antique dumper trucks about 15 years ago at my ex-bosses place. Nightmare to start but if looked after, it used to go and go and go. But whatever you do, don’t let it run out of fuel…….. it’ll be a nightmare trying to re-start it again 😂😂😂
In your past life perhaps you were a Roman legionnaire so here is your new baptismal coronation:Travinus Rowlandus!!Nice start!!And the name of the road is : via Rolandia!!
Love watching your channel, so much work to be done. I watch another channel (Domaine Sauvage) he has a Dumper much like your WarHorse, very useful piece of equipment for sure. Good luck and Happy New Year.
The first time I saw one of those dumpers all I could think about was the hundreds of times I had pushed wheel barrow loads over the years on job sites
I'm a subscriber and i like what your doing. More power to ya. As a builder and fabricator I don't think skinning a dump box floor without removing existing floor is a good idea. moisture will be eventually trapped between the layers and not end well as the moisture cant escape readily. My advice is power ahead. Its easy to be a critic. Thanks for sharing.
I totally agree however, there's a fine line in my brain between how much I throw at this dumper that might not last not knowing the history of it 😅 More to last the house build only i just wanted it to have no leaks for when I pile concrete in there for doing a foundation work 👌 I was thinking to use the engine as a generator later see
Do you ever watch Martijn Doolaard, he's restored a farm building in the Italian alps also, very informative you could relate to a lot he had to do also, He has been working a couple of years now and it's outstanding the job he did, wish you the same luck.
There is italian tractors with bending frame 4x4 and dumpster. Use more load, better fit to italian mounts. But you have your war horse - its better than nothing
I wonder if you will come to regret NOT storing the larger flat stones (which look like they might have been from the collapsed roof) on their edges, leaning against a wall?
It's the same with a horse. If it won't go forward over, through or by something, you can just turn it around and back it up. At least that's been my experience over the last 60 years.
You shouldn't take away stones from the Road. Better make border with them, to prevent sliding to the creek when muddy. I would made side of the Road next to the creek higher, inner corner lower like bobslay turn so you don't fell of the Road even in mud or snow. Honestly I not envy to your home road, its crazy. My road is also 3km in forest but with such rises and turns its very complicated to get to your house. Maybe only tractor, ATV or UTV. Forget about delivery of bricks, send, cement, wood lumber - there is no trucks who can make it even if your shorty car can't make it at once. Better buy helycopter
Hey, thanks. This road is temporary. I plan to make another entrance with a bigger machine the other side away from the stream at a later date. For now, this will work. I want to make this a path down the stream later on see where I'll create a insect habitat so birds and come nest east the insects so on
That lil excavator is sooo cute ! Takes about 100's of hours longer than a big boy.
You are very skilled at using the bobcat and the dumper. Those two resources are making a huge difference in the speed in which you are clearing the land. Nice work.
Thanks 👍 man
Not a bobcat,its an excavator.
Your channel and Martijn's make me question my life choices. Why am I watching this from my city apartment instead of building my own house in the mountains of Italy? I am looking forward to see the next episode!

Come help me if you like for a week next summer ☀️ see the area
Great job…I was holding my breath when you w ere reversing the dumper up the hill fully loaded😂

You are one resourceful guy!😊 WV 🇺🇸
Thank you much appreciated
Just brilliant watching someone who knows what he's doing. This is going to be an epic watch. 👍🏼
If you hadn't filmed getting it off the trailer, nobody would have believed you lol. What an operation, it must've been nerve wracking though.👌
I was saying this exact thing 😂 you know when you are trying to explain to your friends, but they're not quite understanding You. kind regards, Travis
I was thinking.. no way... How?! ... NO... YES...! how on earth... so smart. 🙂
The dumper is a game changer for sure. Those machines are saving you so much time and effort, well worth it. 👍 Epic update, looking amazing on the first job.👌
Thank you much appreciated my end kind regards Travis
New subscriber here from Philippines. You got a very nice place. Would love to watch every episode. Great work!

I’m very excited to see what you do with this project! The house is big compared to others in the region, that I’ve seen.
I subscribed your channel. It is very interesting for me . Thank you and please, don't stop , go ahead. Best wishes from Russia!
I hope your channel continues to grow so we can continue to enjoy many more of these great videos.
New subscriber, nice work, I didn’t want the video to end. A beautiful property, thank you for sharing.

I should add your vision for this project is quite admirable too.

Order of operations is HUGE in big jobs like this.
Glad to see you kept your thumb out of danger when cranking the old "War Horse" 😃
I can see that I am going to love watching this journey ahead for you Travis. All the best from Shirley in Australia
What a beauty, it's just amazing to see it fire up and tick over. Definitely going to be useful.👍

A warm welcome to the War Horse... :-)))))))
Well done Travis. Was looking forward to pt3,I guess your new road could get tricky when the rains come?
👍 At least you don't have to worry about mosquitos.
I was 3/4 of the way through the video before I understood what you were talking about. lol
Greetings from Australia. Would love to find out more, have you considered doing a Q & A video?
Yes, soon I promise

That Toyota will last for eternity! Perfect for uphill. That or a Landy.
Could we get a tour of inside the buildings and the property. It would be great to see if before all the work.
Yes we do so and explain the designs to kind regards Travis
Glad to see a new video!
lol carry on like this your gonna break your back work smarter not harder !
😂😂 I used to use one of those antique dumper trucks about 15 years ago at my ex-bosses place. Nightmare to start but if looked after, it used to go and go and go.

Loving this. Keep 'm coming! And best of luck
A bit risky getting those tires back on.
But job well done!
Your tree garage took the biscuit.😀
The first time I saw one of those dumpers all I could think about was the hundreds of times I had pushed wheel barrow loads over the years on job sites
I know that feeling the same reason I wanted it too the old backs had its share of abuse in my teens and 20s
LOVE IT ❤🎉 keep the good job
You can do micro hydro generator using the stream
man you build a road from thin air😳
I will stone soon come winter kind regards Travis

Ahh thankyou I've been keeping up with other house builds some amazing builds going on what a place italy is
Kind regards Travis Rowlands
What if you changed the driveway at the curve and when up to the back side of the house. It might be an easier grade to climb.
Great job by the way.
Consider the excavator towing the dumper up hill to give it a helping hand, like that looks quite dangerous.
Look at Domain Sauvage he has a dumper like yours. He has done wonderful things with his place.
Spettacolo 🎉👏🏻🍀
Sottotitoli in Italiano o Tedesco Grazie
Is the ‘pyramid ‘ outbuilding possibly a cellar or spring house?
I shall find out there is another by the stream. I'm yet to get to be excited to see you know kind regards Travis
Good job man 🙂
Great work man !!!💪🏻 Can you add a subtitle, please?
Thanks for this video.
Das was Du vor hast ist eine Lebensaufgabe Wow , sieht aber alles gut aus 🙂
Hey look ma no mosquitoes!
Congratulations for the new addition, it is a war machine hahaha. Great job!! Do you work only with your wife?
Yes, Claire is there as much as she can be very camera shy kind regards Travis

While in the workshop painting the dumper I saw a South African registration plate ND xxx xxx. What is the connection?
Hey Martin good spot
The forklift originally from SA

Don't worry, there Separately stored
Are you going to be doing regular videos as they were really interesting
Yes, I'm just editing now sorry for delays
Not seen anything from you for a while. Hope you are doing ok
Hey Helen I'm on it. I Promise post very soon 😊 thankyou for waiting
It's the same with a horse. If it won't go forward over, through or by something, you can just turn it around and back it up. At least that's been my experience over the last 60 years.

@@TravisRowlands thank for correction, not creek but stream 👍
Didn't really get your idea about insects. Best insects are bees 👍
@@TravisRowlands ... you are in the woods... it is already an insect habitat... but I get what you mean. Any woodpile will do for insect habitat.
It is interesting but very difficult to do all alone why not a helper to assist you.
❤❤
will we have a new spisod next week?
Only monthly kind regards Travis
Podrías activar los subtítulos automáticos? Gracias
Hola , me gustaria que colocaras subtitulos en español , gracias🙂
I am seeing similar old dumber effectively being used by 3 youtubers. Any idea who is the manufacturer?
