    Nice review! I find the transformation for him is creative. I like how they handled the legs for robot mode. It'll take a little bit before I'm as comfortable with Proteus as I am with Cacus. Everyone rips on Cacus/Grimlock's legs, but if you use the thigh rotation to get those leg panels in place as opposed to trying to bend plastic, it is so much easier. With Proteus/Sludge I need to find a good way to get all the tabs to line up.

    He’s a big boi!
    I know it’s IDW Sludge, but he looks unfinished in ‘bot mode to me. Dino is lovely, I won’t lie.

    Great review! Even though this isn’t my Sludge, he’s really impressive. I prefer his bot mode, but his dino mode is awesome too. I am going to order Planet X Vulcun (metallic version). I think he is much smaller than these guys.

    Sludge is another one of my favorite of the dinobots.! Be nice if you could do a comparison with planet X proteus / sludge with the gigapower gravtier/ sludge.? Because I was hearing that this planet X proteus is larger.

    I do love the Alt mode. Probably more than the original looks more realistic to me and it does seem to mass shift and get bigger. Too much though. If they went in sale for £120 I’d consider.

      I think you'd be lucky for it to drop that low, I haven't seen Grimlock drop that far!

    Fantastic review as always. Did the transformation make your fingers hurt?
    The lack of ratcheted joints shouldn't be an issue for most people who will only transform the figure a few times, but time will tell. For almost 200 USD there really is no excuse no to give him ratchets. Overall though, it seems to be an improvement on Grimlock. I'm tempted to pick this bad boy up but I'm already committed to the stylised Cang Toys Volcanicus 😋

    So i actually had a blast transforming this, and consdiering my last one to transform was primus it was much needed, but did you ever get the back flush? I got mines flush by pure acciddent and its made me realise i think the issue is you have to have the rear leg hinges outside, if you leave them flush it stops the whole back compacting, i thought i had done it wrong because the little hole thats there has a tiny bit that overlaps but other than that everything is flush

      No question the legs are the fiddliest part, my back section tabs in fine.

      @ArrowFyre wish we could just show pictures on TH-cam lol its so damn hard to explain certain parts of a transformation, I was going by the video and how you couldn't get the back next to the tail to connect, and I've noticed there is a small bit that overlap where the rear legs go, I imagined it would prevent the legs from closing completely as it would just hit the hinge, cause with my back leg hinge out its flush flush, like I'll have trouble opening it flush lol

    Say they dont have ratchet in sludge due to the sheer volume of horror stories of a lot of arm/shoulders been ripped off due to the stiff hard ratcheted joints on grimlock.

    • @ArrowFyre
      @ArrowFyre  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Very good point, my Grimlock didn't have that issue but I remember others did.

      @@ArrowFyre In the 1st batch released, they didnt have enough protective covering and a lot of shoulders broke in transit. This was on top of people searing them off when just moving the joints. Sounds like they listened and made sure to get this right, which explains, probably, why this guy is better than grimmy........ poor grimmy

    • @skeggyrules
      @skeggyrules 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I had a broken one and was sent through a replacement for the wrong side, took me like 6 months to get a working shoulder joint so I reckon they skipped the ratchets for this very reason
