- We got to test the new Eibach Stage 1 suspension on our 3rd Gen Tacoma against several other budget suspension setups to rate them and compare their performance!
Shock Value Series 2 is out now!
• The Difference SHOCKED...
Thanks for the feedback, we enjoy this series. We will look into improvements for future products!
Looking forward to the Dobinsons deep dive
I ran them on my Tacoma for 3 years. The driver side blew up. Fluid everywhere. Just went to a Elka 2.0 since Eibach took too long to get back to me. Way better. Don’t regret the Elka upgrade at all.
I love these on my GX470. Ride feels factory plush and I would guess either the weight of the gx or a different spring rate makes a difference. Incredibly happy with the eibachs especially at the price. .
Please do one for bilstein 6100 and 5160s
Also the eibach stage 2r
All coming in the fall, make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss it!
Really enjoying this series, keep it up! Note: the audio channels seem to be reversed - the audio comes out the opposite speaker to where the person is standing
I run these eibachs on my 15 Tacoma, but went with a ome 884 coil. Very similar length to the eibach spring but 590ish lb/in instead of eibach’s 650 lb/in coil. I like the ride, not much different than the 5100s I was running prior, but would have to say 5100s win out.
Also, thank you so much for the extra videos!! I enjoy the deep dives from the first shock value and now this series.
We have 2.5 years on these in the North East. One front has started leaking and we’re disappointed with the amount of corrosion.. performance has been good but doesn’t feel like they’ll last long term
Just installed the pro 2.0 coilover on my 22 f150. They are night and day better than stock!!! However I don't plan on beating my truck 1/4th as hard off road as you guys did 😂. That poor tacoma!!
I'm really looking forward to the mid budget test for the eyebot Pro 2.0 coilovers. I have them for my 4Runner, just got to get around to installing them. Supposedly they are valved differently than the 1.0. I'm hoping that's true, because this review makes me not want to even bother installing them.
You mentioned these would’ve benefited from a softer spring rate. How do you think using the standalone Eibach shocks and re-using the factory springs would compare vs the complete pro truck Stage 1 kit (with the stiffer Eibach spring) or the Bilstein 5100s (which also reuse the factory spring) in terms of both off road performance and on-road comfort? And are the standalone Eibach shocks the same as the ones used in their 2.0 coil over kit (but without the spring & adjustability) or is the valving different?
Also curious to see their feedback like-for-like (stock spring on both) with the 5100's. 2.0 Coilovers are different valving.
I believe your audio is flipped left/right just fyi
Been stuck on whether eibach or fox 2.0 would be the way to go. Would you consider fox for an upgrade to daily driving on the road over the stock bilstein 4600?
Do you think a lower spring rate could've helped these? I have a 2010 Tundra with these and it's just too stiff. If there's other springs I could swap in at a lower spring rate it'd be rad to know. Do you guys know?
Has the Bilstein one came out yet? Or will it in the future
Would more weight help them? seems like they need more rate to help soften the hardness?
Just one question: what are the specs of the Tacoma you guys are using for the tests? It looks pretty lifted with bigger tires but I don’t see any AAL nor blocks in the rear. I know you can raise the front pretty easily with some adjustments but I was interested to know more about it!
The truck was levelled by the suspension kits that were installed, and had 33" tires, that's it! We also carried a large 40" spare in the back for weight.
@@OverlandOutfitters thanks! Awesome
Hoping fox 2.0 get on the list of review
Let's talk about the lighting... 🧟♂️👻
Watch Overland Outfitters SHOCK VALUE S2 video. They put them to the test. BILSTEIN comes up on top.
That kit comes with 700lb springs. Is it possible thats the cause of the poor performance given it is a stock truck with no added weight?
It's very possible! We reached out to each company for their recommended specs for our stock weight truck, and this is what they suggested!
I have these on my Tacoma and agree they are just OK.
Pls test IRONMAN FOAMCELL PRO and BP51
Ironman coming!
