This was a very good video. I just wish you could’ve zoomed in and just slow down a bit. But like I said, it was a very, very good video and also the paint job on that was amazing very sharp. Thank you.
Thank you. I watched your video discussing this. I have rockietalkie. Do you input the output/input hz listed on the repeater ( ex 100hz input / 100hz output) or do you input the code corresponding with the aforementioned (ex 12| 100 hz)
Great video! New to Gmrs. So I programmed to one of my local repeaters, when I key up I hear the squelch tail but when I speak no one can hear me. I’ve double checked the tones and they are right. Does that mean I’m too far from the repeater? Or am I missing something? Using baofeng uv-5r.
I'm not sure. You have everything set? Offset, CTCSS and you're getting squelch tail confirmation of hitting the repeater? Is it sending back Morse code?
@ I’ve checked multiple times to make sure everything is correct with the settings. I’ve never heard Morse code on this repeater but I listen to some ham repeaters and those have Morse code. Maybe it’s the repeater itself. Not sure.
@@jonbrandre3006 I wouldn't worry about how the radio looks. Both are capable of the same things, if power output is factor for you like reaching a repeater that's further away, I'd go with the 152!
@@wiredtight man I just wanted to have them to use in what ever situation may arise if cell phones stop working. I can usually figure new things out but this is way more complicated than I expected. I got a pair of UV5Rs off Amazon. They are still in the box. When I watched your video above I was like “ok I can do this, but toward then end when you said the numbers I punch in may be different I got confused. I need to sit down and try it though.

@@frankgeis6064 I'll zoom in more and slow down on the next one! Thanks for tuning in!

Finally! Lol, I have a baofeng but I got a much easier GMRS from radioddity
Chirp vid please sir 👍🏼
Planning on it!
Is the UV-5R recommended over the AR-152? The AR-152 has higher transmit power, but it looks ugly as hell.

My radios are paper weights. I just need walkie talkies lol
@@CBDsutty it's good to know what you need and run it well! What is your main application for radios, family communications?
