@@israeljuarez3707 ya except in Mandalay you will have all your parts a size larger than jumpoconda. You don’t need to run size 2 parts like we do in anacondas now.
considering that ED development has taken up again, including new mechanics like colonisation, MAYBE landing on planets with an atmosphere is in the works after all these years even if I kinda doubt that
I’m hoping that new game content will include extra space for ships on carriers. Not working ‘hangar space’, but more like space to store my retired museum pieces into. Somewhere I wander into with a hot beverage and remember old times. “Hey old girl - we had some times together didn’t we.“
What I find interesting is that for something supposedly with the aerodynamics to perform in atmospheres, there seems to be two flat bulkheads above the rear landing struts that would only provide significant resistance. They ruin the streamlining you would expect for atmospheric flight. Edit: on another look they do look to be sloped towards the rear, so not perpendicular to the direction of forward flight at least.
That cockpit would be so nice if it wasn't for those panel thingies sticking up on the sides... Completely senselessly blocking the sight. Oo I also really hope the spotlights can be turned off...
Front facing is excellent. I only use my SRV for mat gathering. For exo I like to land and scan without having to leave the ramp because I'm getting older. Obviously El President has less vigour than me and cant explore without his bath chair, so no wonder he doesnt care for the front ramp
Man it's really lit up like a Christmas tree. I hope we can turn the spotlights off as well or do they only come on with the ship's main headlights? If not they should make it an option like the SRV which has two light settings...

hey mate, im new to the game, i really like how the corvette looks, but doesnt it have terrible jump range? would you as a user recommend it for casual flying around for missions and some pve combat on the way?
You can buy and fsd booster on it. Get like 27 28 ly jump, I also have an fleet Carrier, so I really don't jump to far without it. But to answer your question, you can, if you don't mind adding like 3 to 4 more jumps to your route, if you going a bit far. For combat it's a monster, by far my favorite ship.
I'm curious to see if it'll make a decent fighter, too. May have to buy 3. 1 for exploration, 1 for human vs. human combat, and 1 for Goids. ha ha It really is an impressive looking ship.
You were calling it a "McLaren". I offer what I think is a better comparison - the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The very definition of an incredibly good-looking, stylish high speed touring car! For reference - this is the one that Jeremy Clarkson drove from England through France and Denmark on his way up to Norway in a race between him and Hammond and James May. A race he WON by default, as the other two, utilizing various forms of public and private transport - suffered an extreme degree of misfortune and never actually properly finished! But the car is AMAZING - and the stylistic cues very much look like they transfer straight over to the Mandalay! I am so going to LOVE this ship, I can tell! I've been flying Explora-Condas for several years now. And while they can be GREAT - for me personally, I HAVE to carry a fighter or two in order to get out and fly properly down canyon runs. The Mandalay looks like I can take her canyon running all on her own. And if they ever implement proper full atmosphere worlds in Elite, I think the Mandalay will be one of the ships best designed to make full use of Aerodynamics for an amazing flight experience!
Love the look from certain angles, but from others it looks bulky and unglamorous. I’ll definitely look into getting one. Too much exploration drive in me not to at least try it, but at the same time, if I’m going to really explore a part of space, I’d have to consider taking my FC out there and using what is (currently, in my opinion) the best ship in the game for it, The Dolphin. (I was so glad to hear I’m not alone in that opinion.)
@@DavidKnowles0 After all this time and the amount of ships they would have to work on, and with their dwindling player base, I think it's too much of a undertaking and not a financially viable for frontier. That's my opinion anyway, I hope I'm wrong for you guys who still play elite
Consistency with all other ships boarding points being ground level. I think it’s a subtle reminder that they have NO intention of ever letting us walk inside. (Grumble grumble..)
What always gets me down is that in every space game the spaceships always slow down to normal speed after the boost. It's probably too complicated for the developers to implement real Newtonian acceleration and speed behavior. Or the devs can't implement the consequences of realistic acceleration and velocity behavior. But realistically, you would have to keep accelerating until the power of the drive is no longer sufficient. The spaceship should not lose speed. Just like it was in Elite 2 (I think). At least the devs could offer two modes, one with automatic braking and one without. That would be something...

Changes to materials farming have significantly reduced the amount of grind required for at least “manufactured” materials. Find and use a High Grade Emissions (HGE) Farming Guide and almost all your Grade 5’s will be full fairly quickly. They can easily be traded down/across for everything else. Next, farm G4 Minerals at speed with a dumb-fire middle or Flechette launcher and collector limpets. Just back off enough for the ground level details to de-render so the limpets don’t get stuck. There are a couple systems that have everything but selenium between them that are widely known. Again, trade down/across. Encrypted/data are still a pain, but at least the other two can be handled “quickly.” Hope it helps.
Who designs these ships? This looks like something out of a 90s game with a slight update in visual fidelity. The downward facing nozzles are outdated for 2024, let alone whatever future year this is taking place in. The outward rotated, rear landing gear just looks like something someone slapped on in KSP. The aerodynamics look like the ugly Mercedes EQS "trying to be aerodynamic but failing miserable" bubble shape. Comparing this styling to a McLaren should be a criminal offense. lol
