    Great video, I've gone down the path of taking photos to feed the algorithm instead of feeding my own creativity, it starts to feel hollow and pointless after a while. Now I'm trying to shoot more of what I want in the way that I want.

      Thanks Nathan, great to hear that you’ve found what works for you. I am still trying to find it on my end but having fun along the way. More content coming from Japan next week!

    "A camel is a horse designed by committee"... have never heard that before! 😄 Another awesome video I missed somehow but glad to see. Beautiful images. Keeping being selfish.

    I came to a similar realisation about work in the last couple years too. If we don’t prioritise our life and time someone else definitely will.

    Zone focusing at night, just sold me. 😮
    Really interesting and relatable personal take here. I've been working to survive the corporate world for 15 years also feeling like I'm still treading water, and my brother just got his PhD after picking apart genetic auto immune alzheimers or some such - as if I understand at all. 😂
    It's wild how quickly we throw ourselves into the machine to be consumed, with no questions asked.
    Thanks for sharing. 🙏

      Thanks for watching - it’s really easy to be taken for granted as employees unfortunately, I’m still trying to figure out the best way forward for the next 5 years. Yes zone focusing at night is crazy!

    Just seeing MqpCamera made me looking for flights to Tokyo.
    I don't think I will visit the Leica floor, though 😂
    I have never been a fan of black and white but that dynamic range seems great.
    Thanks for the video!

      The Leica floor is level 1, they make sure you can’t avoid it lol. Thanks for watching, monochrom is not for everyone but creators need to shoot for ourselves!

    A nice video. Good to see you going to Map Camera to get your M10-M, they are great with trade-in's. Where I got all of my M bodies (including my M10-M) as I am lucky enough to live in Tokyo. Keep up the videos!

      Yes a fellow M10M shooter! Can’t believe the range and service at Map Camera compared to what we get in Australia. Did you feel the need to upgrade to the M11 monochrom? the M10R and M10M are perfect for me

    • @drunacres

      @@BokehTherapy I am a little wary of the M11 as some friends have had technical issues and one camera "bricked". I have an M10-M, M10-R and the holy grail M10-D so don't want a new battery system as well. The M10-R arguably is in some ways better than the M11 anyway - especially at higher Iso ranges - the price you pay for that extra resolution I suspect. Map Camera have been great and I have never had any issue with them at all. My wife does sometimes ban me from visiting as it leads to some fiscal stress though!

      The M10D! The salesman did ask me if I had permission from my wife lol. Yes I did but not many chips left to cash in on that front

    Great message man! And at least I was partly right about a Leica M camera :D
    I had the Q2M for about 1 year and the shooting experience was intense, going all in b/w. Unfortunately I had in family situations often the feeling, that I would miss the colors. Now since I don't have it anymore and shoot a lot with my M9 and converting to b/w, the cycles starts again thinking about getting a monochrome camera again 😅
    Awesome video and excited what you we will shoot next on this camera! Was the M10M much cheaper in Japan?

    • @BokehTherapy
      @BokehTherapy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha I totally thought about a M6 and a dozen rolls of film (based on your comments!) but sadly not this time around. If only the Q2 was 35mm or 50mm I’d be all in on that system. The M10M was about half price in Japan (!) than Australia, hope pricing is more reasonable in your country than ours. Lots more Japan videos to come!

    • @IntrovertAmateur
      @IntrovertAmateur 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BokehTherapy I know what you mean regarding the focal length of the Q system 🥲
      Prices in Germany are a bit hit or miss regarding the M10m specifically. Some go for the same price like used M11, so if I were in the market I would have a hard time to choose 😀
      Regarding the M6 I did something stupid a few days ago and got a second one on eBay 😅
      I was able to negotiate the price way down, because it didn’t has maintenance on paper and the person inherited the M6 from his father and didn’t know better. Took a big risk, but M6 is perfectly working, nice light brassing with original packaging and papers. And it was build in the same year my wife was born 😀
      This was my true camera collection purchase, since I don’t „need“ two M6 bodies, but having now one in black and silver, looks nice 😜
      Will also make a video about the black one, since I also got the original catalog from the 80s and it’s funny because the products are basically looking the same like today.
      If you were in Germany, I would borrow you one to shoot with it 😇

    • @BokehTherapy
      @BokehTherapy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Is it crazy that your thought process makes complete sense to me? Two M6s, not part of the digital upgrade cycle, will be in your collection for as long as you like and hold their value. Congrats on the purchase!!

    • @BokehTherapy
      @BokehTherapy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Red filter! I haven’t played with them much, might need to look into it. Which brand do you use?

    • @didiMao
      @didiMao 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BokehTherapy I use a b+w red, orange, green. They're great with bw film and work with monochrom camera. The sky will darken a bit and make whatever color filter more pale/white.
      For fun the red filter will make lighter skin tones translucent when photographed in direct sunlight. Nearly emulating an IR effect on the highlights.

    My lovely wife gets angry when I take pictures of flowers in black and white, 'what's the point' she cries, 'flowers are about colour' she wails. So I bought a monochrom, and she let me. In short, I don't understand women.
    Excellent content Sir.
