Welcome to the official Roll with Cole & Charisma TH-cam channel! Since the start of our relationship we've gotten a lot of questions about our experiences as not only an interracial couple, but an interabled one as well. I was a C.N.A for 14 years and have had to use the hoyer lift MANY times! And I don"t know how many times I have hit a resident with one of those hanging chains! I"ll be like "Oh,So sorry! Are you ok?" I"ll be trying to get it under the bed cause sometimes it gets caught up on one of the bed legs or something. But,Be concentraiting on getting it under the bed and not paying attention to the top part with the chains.
As a CNA we use these lifts often, as a form of transferring. As practice I had to take a ride. It was an experience. Very informative for people. Thank you.

My God this couple is so genuine, and so open. They are a great encouragement to those who are going through. Their lifestyle of copping graciously day by day with handicap is to be praised. It makes them an example of strength and bravery.
I have a younger brother who had poliomyelitis in one leg but thank God he is a well recognized medical doctor since 1989. He is not only in medicine but he is also a great humanitarian who has invested in the life of so many.
Cole and Charisma you are blessed to be with each other. I believe you were made to be together. This is not an accident. I see sincere love and understanding in both of you.

Charisma's new hair is amazing😍
We have an electric version of the lift that we use for my dad. He’s not a quad or anything, he has cancer, and other ailments, and he lost the ability to move his legs over time. He’s good though! My sisters and I take really good care of him, just like you do for Cole!♥️😉

The thing that I really love about them is that it's crystal clear that if their roles were reversed, he would take care of her in the same loving way that she assists him. They're adorable and perfect as they are. Cole is such a strong man and Charisma is a true help mate. Love will give you the spirit to live your vows, not just recite them at a wedding. Last, some men have a woman who is beautiful on the outside but the opposite otherwise. In this case, Charisma's beauty is from within. She is a virtuous woman which is priceless. Cole, on the other hand, is a true Alpha male. When he gently corrected her and said "...or a loved one" it illustrated his dignity and spirit as a man. Although his body is slightly compromised, his spirit is all man...all respect. He's a man whose spirit stands tall and he isn't broken. He's pushed his body to limits that most can't comprehend and, at the end of the day, even if his spine says no or not yet, his heart has gotten stronger. You guys are so deserving of all of the happiness that the world has to offer! If God blesses you with a baby, that child will be blessed!

I say "strength" and "length" like Cole lol. Also, when Cole was up and Charisma asked him how it felt he said "I'm just hanging out" and it's the same thing he said in that clip years ago when he first had his accident when someone else (pretty sure it was his mom) asked him. Charisma, your hair looks lovely! It really suits you.

Cole and Charisma I think showing things like this is very helpful and educational, because many families have members who have physical disabilities and may need to assist with their care. Charisma you are right that a Hoyer' lift definitely saves your back, having worked with disabled people for many years it makes transfering much easier.

Love the throwback hair and look Charisma! Girl from NYC Here! I was awful about wearing a seatbelt in the sport chair but my old gymnastics training helped me roll so my blood pressure was fine and no pinch nerve feeling, out chair 4 times and hopefully for life.❤️

Never knew there was a 'pressure sore' phenomenon. Sounds frightening.
We could have used something like this for my mother instead of putting her in a nursing home after she lost her ability to stand and transfer due to dementia. That way she could have needed only one caregiver at a time.

I have been a quadriplegic for like 16 years and everything Cole has been showing I admire especially you and charisma relationship
I am the daughter in law from the second inventor from hoyer lifter they used to invent the lifter together a long time ago but they separated and now one inventor still in the US and one in Germany. It is amazing to see how different they've got over the years here and in the US. We're selling them in Germany in the 3rd generation now.

Let me just say, you two are the most IN LOVE NEWLYWEDS, before and after your union. I had to use the hoyer everyday when transferring my resident at the nursing home. Don't worry Charisma!! Once you get the hang of it, it will be second nature. Sophie did great trying to protect Cole. She was doing her job!!❤❤
You should advocate for hotels to have at least one on site!!!

I agree! We have a son with a TBI he requires 100% assistance and we avoid traveling because we dont know how to transport his medical bed and hoyer lift. If hotels had one it would make it alot easier.

And try to stay away from fried foods- no matter how little. Like groundnut is not bad for the healthy but fried groundnut affects the eye, so better cook or roast

Even though I am an STNA and know how to use that machine, it's always good to show people how much better it is to transfer someone with it. Maybe when you do become pregnant, Cole could get a home health aid to help out.
She can hurt herself lifting on dead weight. The older she gets the harder it will become. Cole needs a man CNA.
@@texasmusk I never lift Cole. We don’t need a “man” CNA. Cole transfers himself every single night. The only time I would need to lift him is if he falls, which doesn’t happen often at all.
Thank you!! Cole has actually become more and more independent, to the point where we won’t need at home help. If anything, someone to help clean is needed more than caring for Cole.
I think if you watch their previous videos, you'll see that Cole has started lifting himself and Charisma doesn't really need to lift him at all, maybe just stay around while he's transferring himself to and from the bed. I don't think they'll need any help for him. Maybe a help to clean or something or help with the child. They know what they're doing

Hello beautiful couple
I'm Brazilian working as a carer in the UK, meanly I work with elderly, but I use the HOYER that here in the UK in know as HOIST, but that one that you use, is to difficult and I doesn't go as high as it could go. Usually we use a electric hoist that is much easier to use, and definitely doesn't make as carer sweat like Charisma poor her.
I could give a few tips to help in the future if is any help.
1° Arms aways inside for safety reasons.
2° When moving Cole in the hoyer in direction to bed, always position him already in the position that you want him to be on. Like, he can be side by side with the hoyer. No only facing the hoyer.
3° Cole do not be afraid, he was looking terrified.Poor him. It's pretty safe that thing. But, most of users don't like to be hanging in the ar. It's normal feeling I presume.
4° Position the hoyer net proporly is key for a good transfer and be as comfortable as can be for does that are using the hoyer.
That's it.

The ending of this video was so special. When Cole layed back and then Charisma layed back and she kicked her legs up and Cole said he couldn't kick his legs up like her. Yes you can Cole with the help of your wife. Now that's what I call true love and very caring.

Test runs just like fire drills. Maybe you can do these drills every month or every season change (winter, spring, summer, fall).

Love you guys! I was a home health nurse for a couple years after burning out after 15years NICU. Learned SO MUCH and got so attached to my quad and CP patients. You guys are the best! God bless you!

Charisma and Cole! I recommend keeping the lift instructions on your notes (we use Google keep), in case you're flustered in an emergency situation. I do this for my husband's care, and for his allergies (when we go out to eat i write what he can have on the menu and what he likes/doesn't like). I write reminders about steps i miss frequently (like you would add in twisting the leg supports) Very helpful for the days when your brain just can't quite put all the pieces together/or you're flustered
Another lesson for those who need to use the lift. You guys are so funny. You are true friends and that is so important in a marriage. It also good to practice to his for when Charisma does get pregnant. Good job.
