Former Arbys employee here. Chicken pattys don't sell a lot and take forever to fry so they keep 3 under the heat lamp. They have timers for when to throw things away but most people just reset the timer because they don't want to cook more. Try it again, go inside and ask for everything to be freshly fried. My location was amazingly clean and that's coming from an ex in n out employee
That's good to hear personally. I like Arby's but I'm not sure why they put this stuff on their menu. They've already got multiple meats by default so it's just another thing that's going to take up space and time from other things. In my opinion if they were going to get in on the chicken sandwich wars they should try to focus on sauces, buns, and maybe an extra spice for the meat. Like think of the roast beef versus the beef n cheddar. The beef n cheddar has a different bun which goes a long way in making it more than just a roast beef with cheese.
You actually *did* review it by: 1. Showing a video of the item up close. 2. Describing the unpleasant smell. 3. Deciding not to poison yourself. 4. Describe how Arby's is a ghost town and likely not long for this world. Well done, no reason to appologize, this was a perfect video.
I never ate their roast beef.. if you can call it that. But their chicken salad sandwiches have always been my favorite. Their fries are decent when they are out of the frier. And the shakes are fine. It's wild, I never had a huge issue with Arby's but nobody I know even mentions them. Even people I don't know mention them.

The only way it was going to go when fast food has always been about maximum profit. At some point (now) the quality will get unbearably bad due to enough cycles of cost-cutting, and then the bubble collapses. You can see that in every facet of US society, because all of US society is built on the unsustainable idea of maximum profit, endless growth for the sake of growth, every quarter record profits. We're close to the darkest time. We shall see if we survive to see the dawn of a new era.
Ive gotten food poisoning more than once and ended up with an H. Pylori infection from bad food. Take care of yourself first. There is no reason to risk your health. Arby's was my favorite as a kid and I still like their roast beef sandwhiches. Thankfully my local restaurant still makes decent food. As a whole though I think they are failing. The best way to move forward for them is to focus on food safety and the quality of their food.
Refusing to eat spoiled food is still a review. In fact, it's the most important type of review there is, because it goes beyond "Is it good?" to "Is it even safe?" Food poisoning can kill or hospitalize kids, the eldery, or people with weak immune systems. Good for you. This is about integrity. Thank you.
Nah, Arby's was bought by a capital group in 2011. This is by design. They got their money and they will continue to gut the brand to squeeze every cent of money. Once the restaurant stops turning profit, you sell the property and the shareholders get a payout.
And leaving out their work experience at Arby’s and instead saying that they’ve been unemployed the past x amount of years. As they would have a better chance at getting a job being unemployed vs working at Arby’s

Advising folks not to eat food that doesn't look or smell right was a better use of your time. Foodborne illness is SERIOUS. I appreciate you doing this public service here.
Cause its so true. The quality has gone down even in the last 5 years so much its almost inedible now on mist visits. The arbys in my neighborhood closed last year cause of it
As an Arby's employee, the quality has gone down after switching to another company. No more freshly baked cookies (pre packaged), smaller buns, smaller chicken patties, downsized fries and the list goes on. I understand the frustration. And overall, waaay too pricey.
Save whatever money you can. Get a piece of land. One of my first visions ever was of Burger King suddenly being closed. I know it has to mean something because I listened to one of those Burger King horror stories on TH-cam which is actually just a story from Reddit I think, and this man experienced my vision to a T. I believe him because I had that vision and everything happened exactly as he described and it was so freaky and it was so freaky for him as well. Only I was about four years old, so you can imagine how much freakier it was for a girl child. I can only imagine that any companies that have adopted Burger King, Wendy’s, or Arby’s business models are probably going to go belly up soon, so do what you can with the money you get from them. Spend wisely and save wisely. It’s Acts Chapter 2. God’s giving warnings if we’ll listen. In my 1991 vision, I walked into this Burger King for breakfast with my family, my grandparents and my aunt and uncle and my cousin and my parents. So it was my extended family as well. The place was hopping. I had to go to the restroom, so I went to the restroom and my mother was going to order for me. I remember looking forward to hash crowns. And everything was normal as I washed my hands and I came out. But then it was like there was a filter over the whole restaurant, and the place was absolutely deserted. It looked like it had been deserted for sometime. My family and all of the workers, nobody. I thought to ask the cashier if they’ve seen my family, but then there wasn’t anybody there. It was so still. Empty. I was alone. The vision ended. That’s exactly how the story went that the man on Reddit who actually experienced it late at night. He stopped in, he went in and the place was sort of busy or busy enough at night, he did his business in the restroom, and he came out and it was completely deserted like it had always been deserted… He got into his car quickly and drove away from that location very fast. Stephen King langoliers junk… I honestly think it was just a vision of the future now-the future of Burger King and certain other fast food chains, I have no ideawhat happened to that guy, though, but mine was definitely just a vision. 😅 If these fast food giants really close it does not bode well for the little guys. Spend and save wisely. 😊

I’m really glad that you want Arby’s to do well. There’s one by my house and luckily they really care about their jobs and I’ve never had a bad order from them. It’s honestly my favorite fast food place I always feel so good and cozy after eating from there. I hope management sees this and starts to help with customer service and back of the house operations so every restaurant has the same awesome quality that the one I go to has.

@@ZeppelinBigFan You can say something is "rancid" and leave it at that. But then going on to say it could lead to food poisoning is borderline defamatory, esp. saying how Arby's has been going downhill, it's in trouble, etc. He really trashed Arby's. Like, wow, dude, you want to get sued? Sometimes it's better not to say anything. That was my unofficial legal advice to him.
@@borisbalkan707 they wouldn't sue him, it would be a comically bad PR case for Arbys, rancid food will give you food poisoning, the rancid smell is a large bacteria presence feeding, procreating, and shitting on the meat.
Despite this not being the typical review 'format' we're used to, it IS still a review. The absence of the actual review, in itself IS the review. From a customer service standpoint, an honest TH-camr of this magnitude and renown refusing to even try the food would weigh heavily. A creator and reviewer, one of the few who are consistent and have integrity, being this disappointed in their food should be their biggest wake up call.
Well said, i hope Arby’s is shaking in their boots, but I’m also realistic enough to see this problem is coming from the top down. I doubt the CEO has EVER tasted Arby’s food. In your face Arby’s 😡
It's not just your location. Arby's has been going seriously downhill for about 25 years now. I remember in the 90s, I would go there specifically for their chicken tenders. They tasted freshly breaded and crispy every time I went and being in the north, we didn't have a ton of chicken fast food places, so it was honestly my go-to for chicken. Now their food all tastes like cardboard and sadness. :(
Seems to be a runaway effect, prices go up due to Covid supply issues and never come down, fast food restaurants have to either raise prices or lower quality. Arby’s was already significantly more expensive than their competition so people stop eating there as prices creep up and the quality goes down. My local Arby’s still does pretty good business and isn’t bad but if they were a ghost town like his was then yeah, it’s going to be terrible. The Hardee’s in my area is already on the way out, they’d do a great breakfast then be a ghost town so rather than close down or try to stay open with awful food, they just close at 2pm now, they only do breakfast and lunch and honestly they’d do much better if they only served breakfast.
Believe it or not. I’m an Uber driver. I’ve actually driven people to a test kitchen to try some food that may or may not go onto a menu. These companies exist because of test kitchens and somehow how these people get selected which I do not know how. But there are tests everywhere.
This will possibly get mentioned in passing as a footnote in a regional meeting, and nothing will happen. This was clearly a one off, some minimum wage fry cook might get fired, MAYBE, but nothing will happen. You people are so online you think this has way more of an effect than it does on the real world. This will barely hurt their business if at all. Personally, I've had nothing but good experiences at Arby's, especially when compared to Burger King or McDonalds. Do any of my one time anecdotes cancel out his?
As somebody who had food poisonings and even salmonella once: yeah, if your sense of smell tells you 'danger!', you listen to it. That is literally what it's for.

Been binging your videos tonight and my jaw DROPPED. Please, keep yourself well ❤ edit- don't EVER be sorry for putting your health first! No one deserves to be sick and I'm sorry you've gotten food poisoning so often this past year! I hope that improves for you at the establishments in your area!
First step to fixing some of these places is to cut the menus back to completely the basics. No special offers, no limited time new meals, just pick your fries, your drinks, your snacks, and your burgers. Train your staff in them, ensure you got the machines for them, and then only make them. The staff will be able to cook them better, so the food quality will go up.
@@yoitzjslm2830 that doesn't always work zaxbys around me was better when they had everything now my zaxbys location has gotten rid of pretty much everything that was good except the toast, chicken, and cheese bites which they stopped carrying the marinara dip so why bother they can't even make decent fries and the only other option for sides left are side salad and toast they got rid of everything else and they still can't even get consistent good quality
There's no such thing as cooking them better. Fast food is designed to reach the lowest common denominator for the sake of uniformity across locations in preparation for cooking robots. If the recipe calls for 4 minutes on the grill, 20g of lettuce, 6g of sauce, etc there's no room for improvement. None. A location isn't even allowed to source its own better produce. Everything is shipped in. The staff is already as well trained as they can be. If they cut corners it's because they don't care about their jobs and you can't fix that with training and team building. Special offers and limited edition items are the only things still bringing in new customers. Without those all they'd have left is stuff everybody has already tried years ago and swore to never eat again. You can't make an ad campaign around "Give us another shot. We made subtle tweaks to our recipes and we promise our food doesn't suck anymore"
@@adi14882you're not taking into account human error most fast food places aren't going to hold you to that standard(speaking from experience) the less they have to do the better average quality and that means taking it back to the basics it's not about making it "better" so much as it's about making it "easier" so there is less room for error and lazy ppl who dont care are more likely to follow protocol
Imagine how bad the management and staff have to be to give rotten food to a customer. If it smells as bad as Brah says it does, they absolutely knew. I would quit before I gave a customer a sandwich like that.
❤I worked at mc Donald's and quit when I found copious amounts of black mold in the frickin machine ❤ I was refilling it ... Got reprimanded when I tried cleaning it I quit I'm not being responsible for killing someone's kid because of some hungry disgruntled customer demanding dairy Nah
I’m with you buddy. Most fast food quality has gone down to an all time low, while prices have gone to an all time high. And the people fixing that food, just don’t care about anything. Don’t throw it out, take it back to Arby’s and throw it back in their drive thru window!
To be honest, I don’t know that it would be a bad thing if he branched out a little and started reviewing something else. People watch for him, not for the fast food.
We have an Arby's near us that we call "Ghost Arby's." There have been multiple times where we've walked into that location during business hours, all the lights on, and found nobody in the building.
That's the same way here. There's a Burger King next door and the drive-thru there is always busy, but next door at Arby's, there's no cars in the parking lot, none going through the drive-thru. Been in there once about a year ago and I literally had to wait for someone to come out of the back to take my order.
The one by me is in a decent location in a Target parking lot, and it seems to have some business, although not very much. For a while there even like a year after Covid, they were closing at 6 PM. I’m assuming because they couldn’t staff. They’re back to being open until midnight now. It’s kind of surprising because they advertise so much you would think they would be crazy busy.
Good day, sir. I have started watching your videos of reviews, daily routines, and podcast. I'm thoroughly enjoying your content very much! 🎉 Your honesty, appearance, professionalism, and opinions are very entertaining. The way you react to the mean comments is admirable and I love the jokes you make after reading some of them. My hat's off to you, sir. Thank you for all the awesome content. ❤
If I wanted to turn around Arby’s, I’d do a few things. 1. Downsize the menu. 2. Retrain staff to ensure food is used before expiration date. If not prepared in time, then dispose of food items.
They should just advertise themselves as the only drive-thru deli. Get rid of everything other than the sliced meat sandwiches, onion rings, and shakes. Also maybe add a white castle element where you get a pack of like 20 little roast beef sandwiches and dipping sauce trays
The expiration date don't mean sh*t if the food was allowed to thaw and was later refrozen. Train the staff to smell-test the products before serving them, just in case.
@@jschnei3 typically the use by date hits way before the smell goes off. I think he is smelling the sauce, which smells very bourbon forward. I’m not a fan, myself. I do believe he was served an old chicken patty, I am not going to justify that. On the other hand Arbys did recently, last 6 months or so, change chicken patties. The new ones have less flavor in my opinion, and I believe is consistent with a lower cost products.
Having worked in the Temperature Controlled logistics world for years I think this has all the hallmarks of some products being stored for more than 30 minutes outside their temeperature band then going back into correct storage, happens a lot in Fast food outlets and if the items are nearer the outside of the cage or pallet they will have a higher level of bacteria which can survive the cooking process and/or will have damage to their integrity both structurally and bacterially.
You are correct. Usually these temperature controlled logistics managers will throw out all of the food that is not up to par and or give the franchise owner a fine. There needs to be better food safety regulations for fast food restaurants, well all restaurants. Food poisioning is a serious matter.
I hav a friend that takes back even fries if not hot, actually first orders only fresh food (waits for it to be cooked ) she's serious not afraid to speak up to them
Back in the early/mid 90s when that string of E. Coli illnesses happened at multiple Jack in the box restaurants in WA, ID, CA & NV , I stopped in at a Jack location in Sparks, NV. Ordered an Ultimate cheeseburger with all the veggie fixings on it & a side of fries for lunch. It all tasted fine. Woke up next day feeling a bit off, thought little of it, went to work at 9am. By 2pm I could barely stand. Boss sent me home for the day. Had to call a cab. By 7pm my kidneys were putting out what looked like rootbeer. To this day I think it was the fixings. Renal shut-down is no joke. You made the right call, here.
This might be the single scariest I've ever seen Review Brah, I have never felt fear like this in my life, when the first words he said were not "Hello everyone"
I quit Arby's many years ago. My wife and I ordered the roast beef sandwich form the local shop, now closed. The buns were green with mold very green. So we threw them away and never went back. What bothered me most was not th green buns but the fact that the employee prepared them and never noticed the mold.

Don't feel bad, this is a review. A review of the restaurant and it's current food quality. The food was so bad that you could not bring yourself to eat it. I'm so glad you mentioned the freezer burn taste of the fries now. I thought I was going crazy. They literally taste like the half bag of fries you forgot in your freezer from last year and decided to cook them up anyway. I used to LOVE their fries and then something happened and they're just absolutely horrible now.
THIS. This is way beyond "bad quality". This is "shut down the restaurant" territory. The government needs to get involved and corporate needs to know.
The taste of an Arby’s beef & cheddar from the mid 80’s is the first thing from my childhood that I’ve been unable to re-capture in adulthood. I go back and try them again every five years or so, and each time I thought it tasted worse and worse. I had racked it up to getting older and having had more good food, but this helps solidify my growing feeling that it was never me; they’ve been on a downward trajectory for over 30 years.
We both have experienced Arby’s in the same way and you’re 100% right. I traveled quite often with the military and I can also guarantee it’s chain wide. Doesn’t matter what state you’re in
It’s not you. I used to love the Big Montana, the Beef and cheddar, tons of good offerings at Arby’s back in the day. Now the meat has a weird tinge to it, the curly fries are never perfect anymore, and my gosh, they’re expensive to boot.

His videos have been building to this moment. He's been telling us about the decline of fast food for the last couple years.

Thank you.
Nice to hear that someone even cares about those groups of people nowadays.
Knowing something is off is a skill and a review at the same time 🎉

Unfit for human consumption / 10
Unfit for anyone!
If these fast food giants really close it does not bode well for the little guys.
Spend and save wisely. 😊

They tasted freshly breaded and crispy every time I went and being in the north, we didn't have a ton of chicken fast food places, so it was honestly my go-to for chicken. Now their food all tastes like cardboard and sadness. :(

It’s the end of the world of fast food
I cannot believe that American fast food corporations have successfully tested the limits of what we will actually eat
The chase for that profit margin is getting crazy

Arby's left our neighborhood a couple of years ago. It had such scant business, my standing joke goes, they were a front for Mafia money laundering.
That's the same way here. There's a Burger King next door and the drive-thru there is always busy, but next door at Arby's, there's no cars in the parking lot, none going through the drive-thru. Been in there once about a year ago and I literally had to wait for someone to come out of the back to take my order.
Same. The one closest to me hasn't been right since covid. Sometimes it's open sometimes it's not sometimes it's only drive through. It's weird
The one by me is in a decent location in a Target parking lot, and it seems to have some business, although not very much. For a while there even like a year after Covid, they were closing at 6 PM. If I wanted to turn around Arby’s, I’d do a few things. 1. Downsize the menu. 2. Retrain staff to ensure food is used before expiration date. If not prepared in time, then dispose of food items.
I’ve tried to tell the bosses this. I am a GM for Arby’s.
Top down problem, obviously. They won’t even listen to a GM!

The timing is EVERYTHING.
🤣 That's the algorithm for you.
Amen 100%
Yeah I went last month thinking about how they used to taste , thinking I would get the same. I was SO disappointed.
Arby's and Pizza Hut will never taste the same again x.x
