Please do one with the OEM back box. Would be really good for comparison since I plan to keep that stock for the look
You should try out a Equal Length setup, sounded 10 times better obn the S55 and im sure it will do the same on the S58

The bodged up hybrid sounds the best IMO. I like deeper tone. But all sound good.

The x pop after the single mid pipe actually cleaned up the sound quite a bit. I kinda like it

Single mid pipe sounded higher quality and like a more powerful motor so it gets my vote closer to a 2jz deep note than the cheaper raspy bmw note
Anything you can do to make it sound more like a 2JZ gets my vote
The new gen I don’t mind so much, sound a little better idk if they changed something from factory but it’s not terrible

My BMW has the N55 with the 4in turbo outlet and EWG. Then there's the cat then its a straight pipe (no resonator) to the M Performance exhaust. Sounds great even though it's not an a M car but its got some mods.
Good thing there's no emission testing or inspections required by law here.

The N54, N55, B58 and many others disagree with your assertion, there's plenty of tone in those engines despite being turbocharged.
It's the S55 and S58 which sound dead and toneless and I honestly can't understand why. It's not because they're twin turbo, because the N54 was twin-turbo as well yet sounded much better.
Link shows OEM & Millteck. What's the difference? Both bolt up to stock muffler?
OEM Option is for Stock Muffler, Milltek is to bolt to Milltek Muffler.
It's crazy how much it sounds like an N54

I don't understand how a exhaust can sound good to some with all the pops & bangs? It definitely ruins the sound of the engine tone as you want as clean as possible, otherwise its just a bang from whatever engine
If you get an exhaust with its own aftermarket valves, you can “close” the nonexistent bmw valves to disable the pops while still having the actual valves open
With a catback exhaust you won’t really have small burbles, you will be getting loud pops and bangs that sound a lot better
I have the opposite opinion. The pops and bangs is music to ears. Engine sound is good if you are on the race track though. Otherwise pops and bangs all day all night

I was going to get a single for a G80 but this has made me think I was wrong.
So this is definitely not the first 101mm on the market IRL LLC did this months ago and made it a true modular design, INKED Custom out of Germany has also been doing this for months now
The X-pipe Sounds like an Alfa Romeo Giulia/ Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Which is actually fabulous.

Does removing OPF invalidate insurance?
Nope it does not, you would need to inform your insurance that you have installed an after-market exhaust though.
I love a bit of noise a bit of drama and theatre from my car expecially on cold start but really isn't all the pops and bangs just a little childish, surely by the time we've got to an age where we can afford these types of cars we should of grown out of the noisy exhaust thing.
Also like you said voids warranty and won't pass MOT so why 🤔
Yeah, that single mid pipe with the x pipe is money.
It still doesnt sound that diffrent to me. Louder yes but im not sure its worth the warranty and the pain of having to get blag MOT's or switching the exhaust around everytime it goes in. Ive got an OG m2 and I have to say mine sounds significantly nicer. (No OPF) than these do even in stock form.The EU Regs are a pain in the ass.
OG m2 with m-perf exhaust is the gold standard of how a turbo6 should sound.
Having an M5cs now makes me really realize how awful the S55 and S58 sound. 💩 precious car was M3cs and even with Aa EL midpipes it still wasn’t great. 🤷🏻♂️
Exactly why i bought an OG M2 that looks better and with a sports cat and mperf exhaust has the most godly 6cl sound

Im curious, how bad is the police over in the UK like how often do they actually get you for a modified exhaust? How aggressively are they going after it if you don’t drive around your hometown like a dickhead all the time?

There’s actually no mot test for the opf so passes the mot every time ,

It's a visual check & a knowledgeable mot tester will fail it,

@@marioslipsos7756 even with a proper exhaust they don't sound anywhere near as good as the 40i cars. It's pretty ironic when the lower-performance car sounds better.

That burble is nasty. Whenever something is appreciated by masses somehow I don’t like it. I know I know it’s only me. This exhaust didn’t help it still sounds horrible.

N63 in the M850i is the best sounding engine to me by far. All others sound awful. Like a badly pitched Honda

Only for sound. The S58 is a superior motor is every way otherwise since it’s a better B58. And I have a B58

People need to come to terms with the fact that this S58 engine doesn't sound good at all. I love the m2 and will get one in the near future but sadly after watching all these exhaust TH-cam vids, I'm realising that it's a hopeless cause. It's a highly turbo charge engine that will never sound good. No amount of fake and childish burbles and back firing can change that.

But neither of these sound as good as the N and B engines.
