I love these old school platformers. Daze Before Christmas is the one I'm most excited about. Because I play on the Super Pocket, I'm looking for just fun simple games I can just pick up and play.
I'm lukewarm on this one. The games are all very nice and well done but there's nothing too exciting. If I had this in the early 90's I would have probably loved it.
I'm looking forward to this one, even though I was initially cold on the first one. gave blaster master a go again after the leak and once I got into it I saw why people hold it in high regard.
For Galaxy Fight, I consider you playing as Roomi. She is a worthwhile character to use Down-C Strong attack. Or to know how to play as her, watch my Speedrun and you might beat that game eventually.
Before you even said it I thought these games look pretty average But I guess if Someone has nostalgia for them it's probably a decent collection, Noise video mate
Ufouria is a great game when you get into it, very early Wonderboy in Monsterland style game. The PAL version was the only western release and as a result on systems like the Wii it ran with borders and slower speed than the Japanese original. However the same was true of Gimmick and Blae apparently got that running full speed and full screen so its to be hoped the same can be done with this. The glitching looks like typical NES stuff to me, ala Super Mario 3 and others.
Hi Crazyburger, after watching a number of your videos, I’m kind of curious, what kind of retro or indie games are you enthusiastic about? I just often get the sense that you often seem lukewarm to many kinds of games and it got me thinking, what are some examples of the games you are enthralled by? Its just that if most games are either just ok, average, frustrating, or “only for people that love any kind of platformer”, I’m not sure how to gauge that. There has to be some games in these evercade cart reviews that have at least some titles that make you say, “damn thats such a perfectly balanced and fantastic platformer, thats why I buy an evercade, to have this in a convenient format ” 😊. I admit, I’ve come to realize over the years that I must have very low standards when it comes to retro, indie, and most 2d platformers. I tend to love almost everything in the genre. One of the things I love about 2d retro styled games is you can pretty much throw anything in front of me and 90% of the time I’ll like it. This is in stark contrast to modern Triple A games where I struggle to find anything I can enjoy for more than a few minutes. As a result, its just so much less effort to be a retro/indie gamer for me since I end up liking most of the product. I realized deep down I just fundamentally love 2d pixelart platformers and its really hard for a dev to screw it up for me; a game’s gotta be real bad to be bad to me. 😊
Ha you're clearly a lot less fussy than myself. Think I've got to the point that I'm bored very easy. Don't enjoy difficult, frustrating games. I think if you look at Evercade overall, there's probably more average to poor games than great ones. However it's still that joy of discovering new retro games that you've never played before that draws me in. Maybe you should check my videos of Gaelco Arcade 1 or Duke Nukem 1 where I'm much more positive about the games. I definitely enjoy my puzzle games, platformers, driving.. but don't enjoy games that cause frustration. I play games for fun and enjoyment not games that invoke rage lol
@@CrazyBurgeri recently received one of those new Spectrum Next Computers from the latest kickstarter and have been enjoying discovering a lot of neat games for that too!
I'm actually looking forward to this and the pico cartridge .yes it could be better as no killer title 18 but I'll pick it up anyway I'd be more happy with another 1 or 2 arcade cartridges , maybe another data east or maybe taito
@CrazyBurger I rented Zero when I was a kid, liked it but didn't make it too far. I want to try Ufouria, because I heard good things, and it did not make it to the US until it was on Wii Virtual Console. I like fighting games, so I want to try Galaxy Fight. I heard Aero 2 was better than 1 from SNESdrunk. And I'd like to try Pri Pri Princess, as I like puzzle playformers and single screen arcade style games. Plus I like the box art, so that's a bonus.
When this, and the other cart was “Leaked”. I instantly felt like NOT buying them! I feel like Blaze really seems just like a bottom of the barrel retro handheld now? With occasional nuggets of gold, or surprising hidden gems. They really have to stop trying to deliver on game preservation, or quirky little games that are interesting. But never made the grade! I don’t think we can no longer be excepted to buy into this. Or indeed part with our hard earned money for the likes of these games! 🤔. I certainly will be watching your PIKO 4 collection vid when you make it Crazy Burger! 👍. But I fear. It will be more of the same! I will save my money until they release something of worth!…
Piko 4 video to follow.. though was hoping Blaze would drop their official announcement first. Sneak peek.. Piko 4 is shaping up to be worse than 3.. early thoughts though.
The thing is, Blaze has built an audience of "gotta have 'em all" collectors who can't stand to see a number missing on their shelf. They could put anything on a cart and the die-hards will buy it. Some of the cheaper to license titles probably help offset the cost of the bigger names.
Blaze have always been lame when it comes to leaks and sending stuff out early to Gaming Websites and the odd You Tuber ect. It might get people talking but in truth it's far from the shared experience as they make it out to be. Annoying but so was the stolen EXP's... You get past the disappointments eventually lol.
For piko collection you need to push yourself to play games. I have example, my first try of dragon view wasn't very pleasant but later on i though is one of the best game of evercade system. Sunsoft 2 i think is very good collection. Some people will like these platformers including myself. Ufouria its a gem for nes system, very fun game with very good music. Im very glad what we got sunsoft games on evercade.
They might have to change Zero's headband design though. The rising sun logo is controversial these days. Note it was removed from Honda's stage on the Capcom built in games.
@@CrazyBurger Well, the new cartridges have been presented for April, which means that until May/June there are no new releases. As I already said, half a year without Arcade releases. If we also look at the date of the last cartridge released from this line (August 2023), it puts us almost a year away from a drought for purple cartridges. Although you already knew this and for some reason you prefer to pretend that you don't understand.
Evercade return with more lacklustre games. Seriously, this is just so frustrating. Sunsoft created and released incredible games, most of these are dreadful. Increase the cart prices, get bigger licenses. I've not turned on any of my systems for months.
Honestly im super interested in that Galaxy Fight game, visually looks amazing but I will have to see how it feels in game.
Hopefully we'll get an exciting cart before the next winter season comes.
Great video as always and yes, I think Sunsoft fans need only apply for this one :-) Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for the rundown of these games CB. Always helpful! It’s a purchase for me. 👍

The 1 on 1 fighter I want is Eternal Champions. I loved that game back in the day.
This one's a wait and see. I wanted the other Sunsoft one in theory, but I just never opt to actually play it.
I’ll buy it because I have them all
It’s a disappointing start to 2024 considering Blaze said it was going to be better than 2023
