  • I've made it! On our last three days we visit the Flying High Bird Park, drive through Rockhampton, Mackay, Bowen and finally my destination, James Cook University in Townsville. I will also show you around my on-campus residence, Burralga Yumba.
    Even though it's been months since I did this road trip in real life, thank you for sticking around and I hope you enjoyed the journey as much as I did.

    Wow - nice new facilities ! In the US, most students live away from home, and I thought the same was true in Australia. Clearly this place is set up for student residents. For me, university was always like trying to drink from a fire hydrant - too much all at once! Hope you're dealing with it well - the system seems designed to challenge, but sometimes too much.

    Of course Australians would pronounce it Mah-kai. My wife laughed for about 2 years about my interpretation of how Kogarah might be pronounced. Yeah. ok, whatever. Mah-kai. got it. But wait - is that how it's pronounced by people from Vanuatu, or by the locals?! lol
