In this demonstration cuvette is filled with chemical (for measurements 3/4 cuvette is enough). Some times when using with full cuvette, the chemical gets spilled into the cuvette holder. If the chemical is highly corrosive, it attacks the inside electronics and optics of the spectrophotometer. As a precaution, it is better not to use full cuvette chemicals and also better to use a cap for the cuvette (it is available). I have seen this problem before and sharing this with the students and the instructors.
When it was said "Wipe the Glassware container down if you touch it with your hand," may I assume the comment was made to refer to an "ungloved' hand but touching with a "Clean Gloved Hand" is OK? I am new to this.

That Spectrovis thing is cool. Its alot better than the spectrophoto meter machine its biger and havier this one is simple and easy to use. It must be expansive. Thank you for the video:)

Diode array instruments are typically preferred for teaching instruments, as they have few moving parts and are quick and relatively cheap. Instruments containing monochromators are preferred for higher quality measurements (like those in a research lab).

And i have a difficulties to estimate the number of ferrous that produced. Because i thought that ferrous iron inside the medium which put in the anaerobic condition will oxidized directly when it's contact with oxygen in the aerobic condition. Is it wrong? thank you
+Kristin Widyasari Hi Kristin. You can measure ferrous ions by difference. You take an amount of your solution, you oxidize the iron ions you have in solution to Fe3+ and measure how total iron ions. After that you realize the purge procedure in another amount of your solution (the same, but another aliquot) and measure the total ferric ions without preoxidation of the iron ions (u can use a N2 or argon atmosphere).
