Are you a wafter, stay stiller or total panicker? #MichaelMcIntyre #Bees #Wasps Website: www.michaelmci... Facebook: / themichaelmcintyre Twitter: @McInTweet
I was about to write that. I was about 9, I was reading my mickey mouse comic, and a wasp landed on my finger. I had in mind the clear instructions, ''just stand still it won't bite you''.... you can guess the rest. I've ever since become a panicker.
There's a fourth way, the Avoider, similar to a sit stiller, but rather than just becoming a statue, they bob and weave and dodge bees and wasps like Neo dodging bullets in The Matrix
I am a stay Stiller. My Grandma is a total panicker. While on holiday a wasp landed on my leg.I stayed still but my Grandma got her crutch and started hitting my leg to get rid of it. She hit everywhere but the wasp. After I ended up with about 6 bruises and a wasp sting.
She loves you so much ❤️ Some people: I would die for you Some other people: I would kill for you Your grandma: I would kill you for you.... love ya, kissies 😘😘😘
I'm a combination of 2 and 3. I'll sit still for all of five seconds usually encouraged by others around me, then I jump up and just run until I'm at least a good 10 feet from where I started. It has saved my life many times.
That works with bees but only sometimes with wasps. Wasps flying about might mean a nest is about and you don't want to disturb anything near that unless you're an exterminator.
If it's a bee I couldn't care less, but wasps make me panic. We have the most chill bees, they rarely buzz about people - they just go past. The wasps are like stasi, they need to inspect every inch of you just *in case* you're carrying contraband (sugary food >.>) that they need to confiscate.
When I was about 10 years old, we had a swarm of bees that would fly around our school yard periodically. We developed a “hit the deck” method that was quite effective. You would see a mass of bees come around and sixty children immediately throwing themselves at the ground.
When I was younger, I was a TOTAL panicker. Then, after realizing that the two Bees that stung me probably did so because I WAS panicking, I became a wafter. I think the Bees DO appreciate it. Wasps however, are another story: they are a LOT scarier and dangerous than Bees. If I see them, I just stay away. Especially because Wasps usually make in-ground nests, and when they get stepped on, it's pretty UGLY.
@Celina Just waft slowly, that's the right way to waft. Slow, large movements through the air, with your entire arm, outwards. It doesn't see much distance, so if you waft quickly, it'll panick and think you're attacking it. If you waft with your arm slowly, it'll be able to determine whether or not you're a predator and decide to leave without putting up a fight. Walking off slowly but surely (and leaving any fruit/candy behind that you might've been eating and that attracted them) is also a good choice.
Omg, this is hilarious!! I am, 100%, a total panicker! And guess what? I only got stung ONCE in my entire life and it was when I tried being a stand-stiller! Lol Too funny and so true!
i dont get it, so theyll quickly see you and then sting? i have bee phobia so i rly dont know what they do. i PANICK doesnt matter what they do. it's in my line of sight, IM PANICKING all the way while im being an avoider running away
Relatable! I was keeping bees with a club at school - can _you_ imagine how annoying total panickers are next to a bee hive? And in the ends it's always the people that are really working getting the stings...
I love his antics and I laugh so much! I had a bee land on my ham and cheese sandwich and the bee cut out a perfect little square in the ham, a tiny piece, and flew off!!
I'm a staystiller, and I've been stung once in my life, when I grabbed a rose as a child and it was on there and stung me. I've never seen a panicker get stung, but I've seen them twist their ankles and hit their head _hard_ on low branches while blindly running off. And the wafters usually agitate them and then they become runners, indeed.
The whole time I tried to usher stupid wasp to stop attacking light bulb and go outside I was thinking about this. Totally went from wafter to a panic mode xD
@Katie Brewer Same here, only once when I picked a rose and it stung me. And a bumblebee once, that I picked up from the floor, but that was just stupid. As long as you waft slowly and don't startle them with their near-sightedness (if that's what it's called...I'm foreign) then there's no problem :)
2:50 a friend of mine had to go through at least a minute, possibly more, of a wasp crawling on their lip and pinching them. Even after that everybody stayed completely chill. We were 5 people and AT LEAST three wasps. Nobody got stung, it was honestly impressive considering the whole wasp in the face thing
I can't believe I made it this far in life without realising this was the reason wasps always come after me. Can't believe even insects are bullying ginger people
I'm the total panicker lol The floor was burning and I still stood there, bare feet, then running Twice this week they have actually chased me round the garden with my sister going YOU'RE ENCOURAGING IT
I was watching this and my sister was in the back. When she heard mcintyre scream she was like "what are you watching?" I told her what I was watching. Then I told her that I was the chill one that moves my hands around and that she was the one that panics. She immediately denied it. The next day was a very hot day and we opened the windows. A fly came in and flew passed my sister and she screamed. She started running around and told me to help her. The fly flew off and I started to laugh and told her "I told you you were the one that panics" she got embarassed and walked away😂😂
I'm probably a wafter but once I was playing cricket and tried to waft the bee with the bat but ended up hitting it in mid air that it died... sorry bee ☹
I’m a bit of all of them but I’m also the person who tries to punch them. When I was 5 one was on my face and I literally slapped myself to get revenge. I got stung and reacted badly whilst the dumb wasp got away. Not only was I stung but I had a massive hand print on my face. At that point I decided to never let a wasp get away.
This is actually very accurate. I remember once getting very angry with someone wafting a fly because they were angering it. I also remember running around screaming, 'ITS CHASING ME, ITS CHASING ME AAAHHHHHHHHH'
I have moved to Australia and although the insects here are much scarier the wasps and bees are far less annoying. The wasps in Europe won’t leave you alone- here in Australia they look terrifying but they never bother you!

I'm sure that I've been all three in my life. First I was a panicker, then a stay stiller, now I'm a wafter. And it's true, you seem to get stung less when you just don't care.
As a kid I sat very still, as I had been taught, when a wasp landed on my arm in class. It stung me anyway! I've been a total panicker ever since. If my husband's around I'll hysterically insist he protect me. Bees are fine by me though, it's just wasps that are evil.
I love this bit because I'm a wafter and my hubby is a total panicker lol. He always gets me to deal with and winged bug that has black and yellow stripes lol. However, I am definitely an anomaly. The more aggressive a wasp gets with me, the more aggressive I get with it. I have actually removed wasps nests this way and come out of both battles with: at one nest - only 2 stings, at the other nest - zero stings (was a very small nest), both while wearing minimal protective gear - shorts, a t-shirt, some rubber gloves, and sunglasses, and using nothing more than a broom handle, a dollarama racket bug zapper, and some bug spray. Now, as for bees, my grandma valued them very much and used to actually pet them when she was in her garden. She had a beautiful garden and used to get tons of bees (funnily enough, never wasps though). It was almost like these almost oblivious beings just knew somehow that they could trust her. I have carried on this respect and love for them, and have actually already rescued a couple this summer. They are very passive and will even allow you to carry them in your hand away from danger if they are weak and vulnerable, and understand that you are not a threat (for those who don't know: bees can only sting once and then they die, and they are an extremely important part of our ecosystem. Wasps have their place in the food chain too of course, but they can sting over and over again with no physical repercussions, and it seems like they go out of their way to be assholes lol) Side note, if you see a bee that looks weak, and/or is having trouble flying and you're not in a position to move it yourself, a shallow dish of water with a bit of suger in it, and some protection from direct sun/elements, and any predators, will increase their survival rate by a huge amount. Which will increase the planet's survival potential - thereby increasing humanity's
I was the total stiller, never got bit in my life (thank god😂), I used to work at McDonald's, once I was on the drivethru and a wasp sat on my face, I think my soul left my body at that moment... I just carried on serving my customers who we absolutely shitting it😂 the wasp got bored of me after about a minute and flew away Moral of the story, total stillers aren't that bad😂
Total panicker I had a mental breakdown in class when a bee came in once the girl who was actually allergic was calm but me over at the other side of the room was sobbing hard scared out of my mind
R F I was exaggerating slightly but it was still extremely scary for me I was literally sobbing my eyes out and had to be sent out of class to calm down
I’m a panicker & I start way before the bee is close because I know it’s on an assignment from hell. The funniest thing (other than this video) is to watch a panicker through a window/with no sound! It looks like a dissent into madness!
I’m a stand stiller with bees because I know they’re completely uninterested in me and only want flowers. Wasps however I’m a totally panickier because they’re little buggers with an attitude problem who will sting you for no other reason except to just been a jerk!
I outgrew Total Panicker as a child (got me stung several times, including a bee stuck to the arch of my foot whilst panicking). Now as a gardener I am a hybrid of stay stiller and wafter (have to be kind to those bees, you know). Only been stung once - when I stepped on someone's home in my lawn.
I'm a total panicker, or a nope-er If a bee or a wasp comes near me I will panic. But if they are just minding their own business when I'm walking along, I will turn around, either find a different way or not go that way
I’m a total panicker! Amazingly it’s actually on the phobia list... spheksophobia is the legitimate fear of wasps! I break out in full seizure mode when one flys near... lol
In the 2nd grade, a bee flew into our classroom. The teacher told us to be still and calm. We all did, except for one girl. The bee landed on her ear as she ran around screaming and stung her. I'm a confirmed "freezer".
I wafted and had a wasp fall down my shirt, I picked it up and got it out without being stung. I rescued bees out of the pool. Been stung a few times and dont really care anymore
I'm a panicker too, only instead of screaming... I just repeatedly say nope in the most panicky tone you would ever hear as I run or fast walk away from it.
My husband swallowed a wasp that was in his juice can, I kid you not I couldn't stop laughing while I ran I got him an antihistamine and ice to swallow, he did end up in A+E.
The only time I have been stung was when an adult told me to stay still.
The people who run away have the best plan.
SAME!!
Yesss same
Bob Smithies To be honest it’s not really a plan. It just comes naturally to us
I was about to write that. I was about 9, I was reading my mickey mouse comic, and a wasp landed on my finger. I had in mind the clear instructions, ''just stand still it won't bite you''.... you can guess the rest. I've ever since become a panicker.
Why thank you I like running away from them

Meeeee!
I am the 4th.
We are sort of between 1 and 2.
We feel that while stay stillers do have a point about wofting, staying still is not a good idea either.
100% me
I knew such a dedicated stay stiller, he sat there as a bee crawled into his mouth
Can we just appreciate the person who has to move the spotlight as Michael runs around the stage? :)
Yes
Yes we can
It's probably an automated light...
Very funny! That would be a challenge! Ha ha ha!
“He seems pretty interested in you” 😂😂😂
Done.
Jennifer Chadwick that's funnier than most videos
Damn. I feel bad 4 you

She loves you so much ❤️

Kayleigh Munro I slowly walk away, lure it away with something sweet or stay still
How did it save your life? Are you allergic to Bee's and Wasp's or something?
I do that but when moving away I will take two slow steps backwards, then run.
Yep. Same first name as you as well. Maybe its a Kayleigh thing 🤣🤣
am i the only one that just hits them? it always works lmao
Total panicker almost jumped out of car because a bee flew in.
vizeas 🤣 really?!
I almost jumped off my bike at about 20mph because a bee flew past me
😂😂😂😂😂
Lol As a total panicker, I can see how this almost happened. Let’s just say, the compulsion to jump out of the car is real! Haha
I once jumped out of the car at the traffic lights when I wasp came in and I didn't have a moment of shame haha
I'm a "don't care-er"
I just carry on as normal and let the Bee do the same. Its funny watching other people freak out though xD
Holmesy87 same
I’m the same until I get a free shot then I become a sniper with deadly accuracy😂 only if it’s a wasp tho
That works with bees but only sometimes with wasps. Wasps flying about might mean a nest is about and you don't want to disturb anything near that unless you're an exterminator.

*wafter

i went from panicker to mega hysterical panicker after couple of stings! (i didnt know they were there until they stung me! the gits)

I never panic, I brush away the wasp or bee without aggression. Carpenter bees are the best to watch! What a mind! Who else would think of this!
I wafted and had a wasp fall down my shirt, I picked it up and got it out without being stung. I rescued bees out of the pool. Been stung a few times and dont really care anymore
I am definitely number 3, lmao
Lol i am all 3 of them The wofter and the panicer and the stay still. But I never got stung by a wasp or a bee when I stay still
I’m this weird hybrid of a total panicker. I don’t scream, but I will duck out of the way to almost slav-squat stance just to get out of the way.
Sit-stiller here. Even after this, I’m still convinced it is the best strategy.
I watched his Picnic bit a month ago and wondered where the conversation went, It would seem I just found out :)
I'm a panicker too, only instead of screaming... I just repeatedly say nope in the most panicky tone you would ever hear as I run or fast walk away from it.
I’m a total panicker with a family full of stay stillers so you can imagine how stupid they think I am 😂😂
Michael McIntyre is an amazing stand up comedian.
Oh my god i am DEFINITELY a total panicker😂😂
I'm a total panicking wafter.
Im a total panicker and have never been stung
I am a stay stiller and my way is far more superior and key to not getting stung, facts👏👏👏👏
My husband swallowed a wasp that was in his juice can, I kid you not I couldn't stop laughing while I ran I got him an antihistamine and ice to swallow, he did end up in A+E.
I'm panicking just reading this comment
Have to say that sounds terrifying.
Oh my gosh! That is VERY disturbing. 😱
My coping strategy with bees and wasps is improving from a stay stiller to a wafter!
Awesome and so funny🤣 i laugh tears watching him 🥰
Carmen from Germany 🇧🇪😎
I just get super tense when one comes near. I do tend to be a stay stiller. But they land, and then I become a panicker
