Others send themselves up but in ways that are obscure to the average person, Michael admits, in detail, to all of the things we do but would never admit to and that we try to hide. It is unquestionably refreshing and funny and is his delivery is intoxicating.

    Most of the waitrose bags are used in lidl and aldi and then loaded to the range rover in alderley edge and then driven quickly before the neighbours see you in the car park but then take 2 hours to unload at home announcing that they have been supposedly.and then finishing a coffee in the big Costa cup that was made with farmfiods value coffee 3 hours earlier at home.

  • @taylaca

    In Canada (at least in my city) we have grocery stores that are twice as expensive as the cheaper ones but nobody who shops there will ever admit that the prices are actually high. People here only brag about how cheap their store of choice is. Heated arguments are frequently started between the Costco-fanatics (they are religiously devout) and the Superstore or Walmart advocates while the Safeway and Co-op people tune it out because they don't check prices and just assume their stores are just as cheap (if pressed they will say they haven't tried out the other stores because they don't live close to them). The most expensive grocery store here is called "Save on Foods" which people only shop at because they get confused by the name and think it is a discount store and are apparently too dumb to remember how much stuff costs in other stores so they think they are getting a good deal. And then they stupidly brag about shopping at a "cheap" grocery store, which blows my mind.

    • @taylaca
      @taylaca 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For more context, Target tried to open several shops in my city a few years ago and went out of business within a couple months because word spread that it wasn't cheap and nobody went there. Literally anyone you ask if they went to Target while it was here says "no I heard it wasn't actually cheap and didn't bother" or occasionally "yeah but I didn't buy anything because it was too expensive." And that was Target - not exactly posh. My city is frequently used as a test market because it is believed that if something sells here, it will sell anywhere.

      @@fizzybizzy3790 .... um yes, that is exactly what I said. People were looking forward to Target opening because it was really cheap/affordable in America but when they heard the ones that opened here weren't, nobody bothered even going at all. I'm not sure what is "not true".

    • @fizzybizzy3790
      @fizzybizzy3790 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@taylaca You made it sound like people were not going as rumours were spread that it wasn't affordable. It has nothing to do with it not being "posh". It was simply the fact that people felt they were being ripped off for the same things that Americans were paying less for. Have a wonderful day :)))

    The food is nicer at waitrose and they were the first supermarket to do organic food in early 1980s. It was only place to get organic food where i lived at the time. Even tho the range was very small. They did more ethical products. Altho its a bit weird if they pay staff less than the others. Given they were all for fair trade
