I paint the board first. let it dry for a couple of days. Apply Oramask. Carve the letters, then spray you clear sealer. when that is dry I spray the letters. Your way works too. Looks nice.
Awesome method, I need to repaint an address sign and was afraid of accidentally painting the lettering (bare wood), but now I think I'm going to repaint the whole sign and use white inlay as you did. The sponge method is awesome! thanks!
I need to make a painted wood sign for outdoors. I like how you did this. How did you get spray paint off with a water moist sponge and rag? Before painting the letters, I was expecting you were going to put some sort of sealant or something like that, over the red that would make removing the white paint off the red easier. Was masking the red as much as you could the trick?
Nice work, as a fellow content creator I know how much time and hard work goes into the project and even more into the videos. The sponge technique is a great idea. You have a new subscriber, I’m excited to see your channel grow! 👍🏼
Thanks man, I’m always glad to come across another creator. I will check out your channel! I keep in touch with a number of creators on Instagram… if you’re on there, let’s connect.
When rolling on the red after, I always get it into the lettering, which for me is difficult to get out. I’m sure your method would work, I’m just too clumsy!
@@BuskItBarn to be able to use this method painting first the letters, you need to use a high density foam roller to paint the background, this roller is a perfect cylinder, the paint won't drop down into the lettering
Yes, that would have definitely been easier! I was hoping to show a method that could work with hand carving too, but I completely agree that method is easier.
Omg you gave me heart palpitations spraying over the red like that 😳. It came out beautifully but I'm not sure I will brave enough to try that myself. Guess my lettering will all be left natural lol
Thanks for the suggestion! When I’ve tried that in the past, I get paint splatter in the lettering that I’m not always able to fully remove. Maybe that’s just my clumsiness though!
You really don't do any any good without telling people what you sealed the wood with. What kind, brand of red paint did you use, how long did it dry? Wipe with a 'damp sponge', damp with what water, thinner, alcohol? We like watching the videos but we don't read minds.
What would you all like to see on the next CNC router OR woodworking video?

That’s a great method for painting a cnc-carved sign!
I was wondering about this thank you
I was wondering why not spray the board red first then do the rest of the steps after the pattern is engraved in.
Great job! Lots of ways to do things and whatever works is fine!
Yes! Thank you!

@BuskItBarn, Why did you spray with polycrylic before you painted and not after?
So you can wipe off rustoleam spray paint?

Love this Technique! Great Video!
Thank you!
Painting white over the laquer sealed lettering doesn't make the paint bubble? Is all the spray material latex/water based?

@@BuskItBarn I agree! Im not on IG, but will stay in touch on here and looking forward to future content and seeing your channel grow. 👍🏼
Why not just spray it white, sand it, and then roll the red? Seems easier.

Nice job. Subscribed
Thanks!
nice video. i would just mask before u carve. easier that way.

Haha well, sorry to worry you like that! Give it a trial run on a test piece to build your confidence. 😊
Nice, was that acrylic paint that you used?
Yep, 100% acrylic 👍
"Nooks & crannies" - I learned that from Thomas' English Muffin commercials.
Haha I completely forgot about those commercials. Maybe that’s where I got it from.
Seems like you could have just spray painted the board white, used your roller after to paint the board red and skipped the whole wiping off part....

Why not spray it white after it’s carved then sand it then roll the red. Much better way then wiping the white off. Messy
Nice work S is upside down
Thank you! The S style is just the font design but I agree it does look upside down. Haha

You work too hard at it. noting like working too hard. BAD IDEA
Terrible idea. No good.
