S4 was amazing. Ep 6 is my fav in the series. But S5 took a lot of the best parts of 4 and focused harder on it

I love how you can just see how Haida loves all sides of Retsuko, even her death voice. The anticipation on his face when he sees her getting ready to belt it out is amazing
Both Haida and Retsuko have quite alot in common with eachother. They both want the same thing and they both as I have said have alot of things in common they basically also have the same dream

He is good. Great even.
Ton is a hard-a** because he cares and wants Retsuko to do her best and put forth 100% in what she does. In all honesty a lot of young workers could benefit from having a Ton in their corner when they are starting out. He is someone to stand up to and put your foot down with. However once you do he’s going to start pushing back even harder than before. We would not have the Retsuko we do today without him.

Yeah right? I watched all the seasons in English and it felt quite more suitable than Japanese, which is pretty rare since English dub is not always that good.

How did we get here??? I want season 1 about a worker who has a hard life I'm a few seasons later now she's seen you about politics and uniting Japan how did we get here boys??
Just another instance of the supporting cast dragging Retsuko into something she doesn't want, I guess. Though the underground band SORTA made sense. This is just weird.
Instead of doing this, I'd prefer if the story would focus more on Retsuko meeting and dealing with Haida's family. Maybe help Hiro become his own man and get him out from under his dad's grip. You would still have the "old vs new politician" angle, but it wouldn't feel so forced and out of nowhere. Retsuko could find a connection between Hiro being pressured by his dad, and herself with Ton. She could then offer him insight on the things she learned over the course of the series, concluding her character arc that way.
And Hiro could maybe mend his relationship with Haida, and have a conversation with Shikabane, giving her the hope she had lost. Haida's family owns a apartment complex. Why couldn't Hiro offer Shikabane a place there, with at least reduced rent? Then, Shikabane could use her connections at the internet cafe to gain him voters.
Instead of a vague competition, the season could focus on Retsuko's and Haida's social circle growing so huge, that they could all help each other's lives get better. And character arcs would actually get resolved!
Sorry for the long rant. I'm just kinda disappointed and confused at this season.

@@greendemon905 I can sorta understand it better after learning a bit more about japanese politics specifically the anti-NHK party but I agree that it felt really forced especially with Retsuko's friends pushing her into this. Their angle of experiencing struggle and being against this two faced, unsympathetic father and son nepotism project relatted more to Haida then Retsuko in any way. Wished there was more time to get Retsuko to interact with Haida's family and people like Shikabane. Bc even when she does understand why shes running according to the show it doesnt feel like it. We get Haida talking about it but never the person who is supposed to be representing the issue. Wished we got less of Ikari and more of all this. I feel like maybe they wanted Haida to go against Jiro but felt like Retsuko wouldn't be in the spotlight so they changed it

@@ajstudios9210 it's sad that alot of people try to ship Retsuko with Tando when Tando has a completly different wish and views on what he wants to do or be in the future compared to Retsuko. Tando doesn't really want anything to serious neither does is he really much interested in settling down unlike what Retsuko wanted. But Haida wanted and have the same dream as what Retsuko has.

Ngl I have some mixed feelings about this season but the finale blew me away completely
Season 5 was hit or miss for me, it was good I just feel like it kinda ended too fast, especially when it came to characters who were introduced such as Shikabane and Jiro, even Haidas father. It kinda left off in a weird place which is kinda meh to me, I feel like they should've explored them a bit more. I'm mainly saying this because I really like Shikabane but we don't know much about her nor will we ever know Haidas real name, stuff like that but overall it was good
Same. First half was pretty good with Haida getting back on his feet, the last half was kinda eh. But, still, kind of an approvement over season 4.

Wish this season 5 they explore more on haida's punk rock side. I mean we got a bit of the story when they went to haida's home & retsuko waited in his room. Plus the story when haida & his band made an offensive song they posted on kinda like TH-cam site. I wish we get to know more about haida & his friends/band. Not this political party debate. I think his friends would probably love having retsuko around singing death metal song. What about the punk rock joint that haida's been going during early seasons of aggretsuko? They really did him dirty.

They're different from one another, the English Vocals for OTM were done in the Dub
