What happened one time is that a friend of mine cleared all rounds of one company and he demanded certain salary, then the HR was very hesitant but eventually he/she agreed to his demand although most of the salary part was performance based. Even after 2 months that company didn't call him and when he tried to contact him/her they said that we have already contacted you and you said you were not ready for a certain location so we cancelled your candidature. This is total exploitation and very unprofessional. This is what frightens me.
Summary 1. Have patience 2. Know your worth 3. Do your research 5. Have atleast 3 - 4 points before quoting any number 5. Try to increase salary on different possible components i.e. base, bonus shares 4. Take time before signing offer
i feel like the entire video series of your's with nikita, is the most amazing quality content on your channel. personally i'm not from data enginerring background, bt i love watching your videos, specially the videos with nikita. she is such a sweet heart. i learned so much from her and i'm kinda addicted to her videos. pls don't stop making content with her! 😃😀
The principle of negotiations is that two parties exchange values at an agreed cost. Companies want to hire the best available talent at the min possible/affordable cost, without risking losing them to competition. Whereas, candidates want the best possible salary for the job they will do along with professional growth. Many candidates take up jobs blindly for high salaries and later repent and complain about poor work culture. Whereas many companies may not offer top of the market salaries but offer a very good working environment. What you should be talking about is how a candidate should choose an opportunity not only on the basis of salary but other factors - much a needed advice to candidates - which is seldom given or talked about. Regards, A hiring manager.
Very helpfull content. One point i have experienced as mentioned by shahsank is if the recruiters doesn't tell the range and i end up quoting more than the maximum range most companies discard the employee on the salary basis he asked for because its not in their range. Whereas if they would have negotiated with the candidate, they would know he would have settled for a little lesser amount. In this case the company looses that candidate.
I never get call from FAANG company, I know it's very basic but in reality I never been even shortlisted for interview. How to get shortlisted and get call from these companies ??
very useful information Shashank , with my experience I can tell salary negotiation is imp skills. I started with 1.5 lpa salary and current salary is someone different level.
Salary Low balling happened with me multiple times.. Even though I have much more experience as per my experience in Data science... It is indeed a sad part..
Only if I would have got this detailed knowledge a couple of weeks back😥😥. But nonetheless, a great content with respect to current time and market Sir 👍
Can we negotiate on the basic salary. Because I see my current basic salary is very good but even after getting very good hike then offered basic pay is not good from the new company
Thank you Shashank for this informative video. Can you please make a video about "How One can get a remote software job from US ?" and it's pros and cons with Nikita as she mentioned her cousin got a remote job from US.
Best way to avoid dissatisfaction is work as much as necessary for the role you are targeting. I know people who even cracked in 2 days in college placements (not preparation obviously other skills) you never know when luck favours you. Some suggestions one might consider 1) Check whether you are eligible for next review cycle depending on that you should Ask only base and not JB as replacement 2) Check whether the stock is greedy stock or not. Some companies intentionally keep their stock overvalued zone by Accounting and Buybacks 3) Evaluate the stock price -10% is normal deviation but if you might judge that it is lower -50%. It's better to swap either with joining bonus or base as much as possible,if not possible it's better to drop the offer and move on with current offer you have. 4)Base is the single most factor when evaluating a offer and it's even important if you are not jumping jack or doesn't have much skill Other things are almost BS 5) Its always best to keep 10% buffer than what you came up in mind or what number you decided. Prevention is better than cure. 6) One might consider Location and relative cost of living, pollution levels. I would suggest one to avoid Delhi/Noida as pollution level is hazardous and cost of living is relatively higher than other metro cities IMHO Except Mumbai(but it's not software hub) Last No One is responsible for your decision and one could only tell you Pros and Cons honestly. Obviously not by cop game l,not everyone is intelligent to figure the game.I can't even figure out parting away treat Notice that You Should Live with you Decision and No One is responsible for your Decisions. One who got trapped is equally responsible as one who set a trap.
@@priyadarsinipanda501 They will not take back, they will just tell ,whether it is possible from there side or not. Don't be underconfident just believe on your skills, all the best.

It's what going on in India right, everyone exploit the candidates. We Indians should have some rules on it. It's a sad part but nobody can do anything
I shared my payslip with a company recruiter and that was a startup quite one year old and now I'm realizing what a big mistake I did because my payslip is serious level of privacy I want to save but since I wanted the job I have to do that. Any solutions to save my Payslips from this kind of traps to get the job?

How to check market salary for a given postion ?
I had someone from Egon Zehnder do this to me. Apparently the head "HR" could judge my value to the organization within a 30 minute interview.
This actually is the story of my life. In my organisation, people one level lower are earning more. They cry on my shoulder on not getting promoted.
