I am wondering if next time you could check out a video made by Blizzard Entertainment called: Legacy of the void it’s here on TH-cam and is a sci-fi trailer for the Protoss faction, in their game called Starcraft 2 it’s a really hype trailer even if you don’t know what is going on in it. I think it would be a fun suggestion :)

      @@ChrisConnorFilms Valkorion was a male Human warrior from the planet Zakuul who lived centuries before the Galactic War. When the Force entity known as Vitiate arrived on Zakuul, he chose Valkorion to become his new host body, and took possession of the man's physical form.The mind of the original Valkorion was completely suppressed, and his identity was used by Vitiate to build and rule over an Eternal Empire based on Zakuul. Sustained by Vitiate's immense power, the Valkorion body lived for centuries, earning him the title of Immortal Emperor. Using his Valkorion body, Vitiate fathered three children with his bodyguard and consort Senya Tirall-Arcann, Thexan, and Vaylin-who were biologically children of the Human Valkorion, but inherited their strength in the Force from the Force entity that inhabited him. In 3637 BBY, the body of Valkorion finally died in a battle between Vitiate, Arcann, and the figure later known as the Commander. In death, the Human exploded in a blast of Force energy, though Vitiate-who bound himself to the Outlander in order to survive-continued to wear the image of his former host when he appeared in visions and as a ghost-like apparition.
      Tenebrae-known to the Old Sith Empire as Vitiate, his reconstituted Sith Empire as the Sith Emperor, and his Eternal Empire as Valkorion-was an ancient dark side entity of enormous power who manipulated galactic affairs for 1,500 years.
      The Emperor ruled the Empire for over 1300 years, and during that time he exerted an enormous psychological influence on his people. In the Empire, he was viewed as both a god and king-almost every citizen of the Empire was more than willing to sacrifice his or her life in the service of their Emperor. He was the source of many common phrases and utterances in Imperial culture, such as "Glory to the Emperor,""Long Live the Emperor," and "It's enough to wake the Emperor." He had a similar effect on the citizens of the Eternal Empire; Valkorion was considered to be essentially a god to his people, having toppled Zakuul's original religion. Zakuulans believed Valkorion to be truly immortal, guiding the Eternal Empire to prosperity for centuries.
      Thousands of years after the Emperor's death, the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis-himself obsessed with achieving immortality-mused that Lord Vitiate, as he was known to history, was the only Sith Lord in history who had come close to achieving the secret.

    There is one thing I think can be further added to the scene at 34:52. A symbolism you can add to the grasping of arms is how the brother in black was carrying the brother in white. He was the stronger of the two. You see it throughout the trailer, the brother in white is losing control of his temper, he gets wounded. His weakness ends up costing his brother, the stronger of the two. Black did not seek to kill his brother, but White, in his anger, was able to cross that line. At the last moment you can see Black's fingers go straight as they slip free, but White keeps his in a grip shape. He lacked the strength to carry his brother like he had done for him, therefore his brother slipped through his grasp.
    The emperor was waiting for one of them to experience this before acknowledging either of them as a son. He wanted not the strongest one, but the one who endured the most pain and loss, some of the core tenants of the Darkside. The pain and weakness will give them the drive to seek strength. It lines up with his narration during the trailer.

    Notice at the end of "Sacrifice" when they hold hands for the last time, Arcann (brother in white) is still trying to cling to his brother Thexan's (brother in black) hand even as it is slipping, to show that he is desperate and lost control, trying to hold on to the only support he has known. Then the perspective shot with their father who never lost control, instead instigated all of this, completely in power and control. And if anything, he is wearing even more white robes, suggesting he is even more of a villain than Arcane with his out of control temper could be, offering the hand the twins always wanted... you just know it's an even greater tragedy in brewing.

    also...let me share some light on what you've seen (SPOILERS AHEAD): these two trailers are about the new faction, that appeared in swtor after some time. it's called empire of the eternal throne. they are neither sith, nor jedi. the main bad guy is the reincarantion of the sith emperor (vitiate), who has three childs as portayed in the video. the woman who's rescuing the daughter in the second trailer is their mother and vitiate's wife (also commander of the armored knights, that's why she has support from them) but you really need to see the first THREE trailers, which appeared upon the release of the game...they also have a chronology, so watch them in the right order))) on further info - i'm here if needed

      "Deceived" video depicts a never-before-seen event in the Star Wars Legends canon that takes place 10 years prior to the game's start: the Sacking of Coruscant.
      "Hope" depicts the Republic's struggle to retake Alderaan from the forces of the Sith Empire during the Battle of Alderaan, taking place 24 years before the beginning of the game and 14 years prior to "Deceived"
      "Return" depicts the Sith Empire's effort to retake its ancient homeworld of Korriban, taking place 38 years before the beginning of the game. The trailer focuses on Darth Malgus and his struggles against Galactic Republic forces, as seen in the previous two trailers, Deceived and Hope, both of which take place 28 years and 14 years after Return, respectively.
      Also as a fun fact Malgus later know as Darth Malgus is the only character that appears on the 3 trailers

    White being a villain color makes sense to me, it comes off as cold & clinical, and can be used as a metaphor for how the evil character hides the darkness within under a facade of seeming goodness (such as rule of law) or for someone who doesn't get their hands dirty, either because they are a mastermind type character or someone who is rich and powerful enough that the 'stains' of their evil actions don't touch them.

      @FaintlyAlarming 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@christophermoralesclark Yeah, but Revan and Vader were never afraid or 'above' getting their hands dirty - even Revan, who was a mastermind character. They didn't put up a facade of being pure (or 'good') or untouchable, so while black is also played as villainous, it is meant to convey a different undertone. The contrast of color from those characters also emphasizes how Valkorian considers himself to be better and 'above' them and everyone else in the galaxy, even the other Sith.

    13:47. Well you're not wrong about that. These fight scenes for the game cinematics are far more superior than the recent SW live-action films in my opinion. Not just that, but the overall storytelling and characters in these cinematics are also superior than the recent live-action SW films too. Yes. To be fair, these are just very short cinematics while full-length movies are much more challenging to execute. But these kind of storytelling and fight scenes are what the recent live-action SW films should've been. At least in my personal opinion.

    As much as these trailers for the expansions are great, you REALLY need to review the 3 part trailers for the original release. The coolest part of it to me was they were released in reverse order, so you see the conclusion first, and then eventually see how you get to that point. Really great cinematic storytelling.

    A thing that just shouts out quality in these trailers is the attnetion to detail. When the two boys have built their lightsaber and the camera pulls away from them (23:43), one nudges the other to say "look what we/you did!"

  • @inquisitive6786
    @inquisitive6786 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    The thing about youtubers showing something "exciting" in the beginning has the opposite effect though, because there is no build up, nor emotional investment to it. They`d be better off just surprising the audience with their reaction.
    In the first trailer about the brothers, this eventually works because we got invested in their story up until it caught up to what was shown at the start.
    TH-camrs using this technique simply fail.

      I agree. In fact, whenever I'm watching a reaction video and they open it up with a clip of what's to come, I always scrub passed it. It's more enjoyable to watch it organically. Seeing it without context is akin to it being a spoiler of what's to come.

    answering your question "why doesn't the lightsaber burn the ground while lying around?": the whole concept of the lightsaber bases on the fact, that light has no weight. what that means, is that the blade is weightless and the handle itself lying on a horizontal surface would not reach the ground without interference. but on the controversy, it wouldn't stay "on" if the wielder didn't have it in his hand.
    btw, that is also one thing i always pay attention to when watching lightsaber duels. the movement differs whether the blade has weight, or not....cause it shouldn't in this universe)

    • @datzfatz2368
      @datzfatz2368 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      well technically they arent "light" sabers, they are Plasma sabers, at least in the Legends Lore which this takes place in. And so they technically also have a tiny amount of wight. But you are right, they usually turn off when not in the Hand of their weilder or being activated remotly with the force.

    I definitely think the scene with the bond between the brother's being visually shown as breaking was done in an impossible space solely for visual's sake. As a sort of ''sideline'' visual to the main event of the brother dying. As you said, physically it is an impossible scene but I like to think it is simply there as an indicator to the audience. Really loving the breakdown here. :)

  • @andyramirez4293

    The problems with the sequels is that the person at the helm did not love Star Wars at its core she just saw it as a way to push her ideals and use it for her platform to push her narrative and did not handle Star Wars with care and did not understand the universe itself. That’s why those movies were fucking garbage maybe if it was it’s own universe and did not have Star Wars associated with, it might have been a good trilogy but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. You need someone who has a plan from beginning to end and who loves and understands Star Wars like Dave filoni. Clone wars ended perfectly and mandalorian was just amazing itself hopefully there’s a change in Lucas film soon or we will keep getting shit movies

    • @redcardinalist
      @redcardinalist 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure I put the blame on "the person at the helm" as if she could pick and choose what she wanted for Star Wars. (If you think that, you're living in cloud cuckoo land. Movies aren't written, directed and made by one person.) It's Disney itself that has no inherent love of Star Wars and who completely misunderstood it.
      Even those who love Star Wars can misstep. Yes Clone Wars finished superbly but the middle arc of the final season was frankly dire and who do we to blame for that - the great Dave Filoni. He also helmed the dismal Rebels; a series that was hampered by Disney (see - Disney again) insisting that it be made for their kids station and therefore suitable for 8 year olds. Even with limitation the series suffers from a complete lack of imagination - with a much-heralded villian (Thrawn) who completely fails in all his machinations throughtout the show and probably the most boring planet(tm) in the entire Star Wars universe - Lothal.

When the other brother uses the force to pull the attacking one back it briefly cuts back to a view of the fathers face and you can see that he smiles as this happens. I've always found that part to be very revealing, as it shows that this event the fight between brothers was what the father wanted to happen.
