I like how they maintained the skeleton of the song, like reusing aspects from the prior song and mostly keeping the tempo, while filling in stuff like the percussive with really creative sound edits and the like. As with most of the HS music, it really reflects the characters or concepts that it is trying to depict. On a side note, I really love when music has ingenious use of sounds, like the synth in the backround, the symbols and sleigh bells, etc.

This is probably my favorite piece of HS music. It's so discordant, yet still chill and enjoyable to listen to. Listened to it on a long car ride once, my opinion on this song skyrocketed ever since.

If every sequence of events had the appropiate OST playing during it, you bet this would play the first time we see Caliborn in his bedroom.
So in conclusion, this sounds exactly like a song for Caliborn, and that's probably not a good thing.

Cherubim is such a good album
The whole album has such an oddly satisfying vibe to all of its song, especially this one to me. Add in the parallel gimmick with songs representing Caliborn and Calliope respectively taking leimotifs from each other, it's such a cool album.
Say what you will about Homestuck's writing, hiatuses, stuff involving Post-Canon, etc., the music made for the comic's OSTs are one of the few, if not, the only thing about HS that hasn't degraded or aged poorly.

i know this is an old comment but i would like to point out it fits caliborn more than you would think, with the distortions, glitches (referencing when he ruined a certain part of the story ((i forget when exactly))) and the intense remix of reverie, and seeing as he is in his sisters body, (and that this is the counterpart for reverie), it would make since that it would be a remix of reverie

@@bur_n_t It has buzzsaws. Besides, they share instruments & motifs in each other's songs because while one is awake the other is dreaming and vice versa. Also, one of the instruments used is literally the whirring of a mechanical saw. The song is even called Power Fantasy.
