I just bought this camera and idk what objectives to buy. Leica 12 60mm or sigma 18 35mm with speedbooster? Personally i film and photo myself in the gym. Sorry for my English 😢 I really appreciate your efforts to make content 🫶
can't get manual focus assist to work - it just doesn't punch in even though I set it just like you said. Any ideas? thanks p.s. also can't get my display to show frame rate etc
When I has the G7 the GH5 was the camera I worked towards. I told myself that if I got to own the GH5 that would main I had made it as a camera user. The GH6 and GH7 has came an sure those camera have far better specs and AF but for me they will never be talked about as much as how the GH5 was. It was the camera that set the bench mark for all cameras from all brands that came after it. Its work horse. I will never sell the GH5 as i just see it as an iconic camera.
I still have this GH5 even if I also use the G9II and GH6. The GH5 has very realistic details in video, it is why I keep this camera, I know I will get the same fine details as if I took a photo when I use it. Both the G9II and GH6 have nicer colors and more frame rate options but fine details are not as perfect. Of course because the details are so close to a real photo, noise and moiré are more important on the GH5. About the GH6 being 12 stops without DR Boost I don't think, it is more like 11 stops at best.
I use the GH5 with the Atmos Ninja V monitor and for some reason V-Log does not show up correctly on the ninja but it does on the gh5 monitor. Has anyone dealt with this problem?
Yes, as I was watching this, I was realizing that I’ve seen all of these clips before. :-) It’s all good though, this camera is still so relevant, there’s nothing wrong with putting this information out again. But it made me laugh when I realize I had seen all of it already.
Hey Caleb Hoover, I recently got hold of a GH5, and have set it more or less how I want it for video (thanks to you and a few other folks). What I've noticed is that sometimes, out of the blue, the recording time may change from say 1:20 to just over 40 minutes for no reason. I find it weird. I mostly shoot ALL-I at 24p or 29p. I use the same fast SDXC 128GB card. Any thoughts?
Caleb, this video was incredible. I have a G9 but have been considering a GH6 (on sale now) or G9ii. Since I'm a Lumix user I felt right at home watching your class. Thanks so much.

I’ve had this camera for about 5-6 years, been my work horse video camera. Loving this video so far, thought I knew everything about this body haha
Crazy how good this camera still is in 2024. I use it as a b-cam all the time with my GH6. Holds up surprisingly well with the GH6 footage!

Did you find out the reason? Is it because you changed frame rate?
