    My great grandma had 12 children. More uncommon now, but large families have only become uncommon in the past 2 or 3 generations. I only had 1 child and I am not sorry for it. Although my baby is about to be 18, but still my baby.

    I reckon that 2 kids is the golden amount of kids. It’s enough to sustain a population (sort of), enough so that they aren’t an only child (that often doesn’t go well), but still manageable

    Haven’t watched the video yet , I’m about too.. but I used to feel that way after my first one .. and after my first son reached age 9, I thought to myself ,” what will happen if something terrible happens to me and my wife and we are no longer here .. he’s gonna be alone … I didn’t want that at all.. I couldn’t stand the thought of that, him having no sibling at all if we are gone .. so we had one more son.. they are ten years difference in age , but hey, they live one another a lot and hangout with each other constantly doing guy stuff .. I’m so happy I decided on two.. that was the magic number for us … think about that long and hard my friend .. you only go around once , and children make it so worth the ride ..

    For people with multiple kids, please take special care to NOT PLAY "FAVORITES". I had to put up with my mom playing "favorites" with my brother and I (my brother was her favorite 🙄) FOR YEARS, up until she croaked. Every time he got in trouble, she either covered for him, or bailed him out. She didn't even let him spend the whole night in jail after getting caught jacking car stereos (he was in middle school during this). He started smoking pot and drinking beer in the 5th grade, he dropped out of school in the 9th grade, he stole from everyone, was a chronic liar (which is the main reason everyone left him in the end), and he made it his LIFE'S MISSION TO MAKE MY LIFE A LIVING HELL when school and bullies weren't able to. I learned what all NOT TO DO, just from listening and watching him reap the consequences (usually from the police). It took my mom BEING ON HER LITERAL DEATH BED to admit that I was always the better one between my brother and I. THINK ABOUT THAT. Spending SO MANY YEARS favoring my DUMBASS BROTHER, and it took her being on the EDGE OF DEATH, to say that. My mom just HAD to throw more salt and lemon juice in my still gaping mental and emotional wounds. As if that wasn't bad enough, after she died, he moved in, stole my money from me, starved me, and made me a prisoner in my own home. I couldn't even brush my teeth without being screamed at about it. I was lucky enough to have my sister to help me get out of it. She was surveying the situation, trying to find the right time, because my brother had gotten onto some hard, illegal drugs, and he had a cabinet full of guns, so things had to be played right. I got out, I was able to take my money back, and I have been living a quiet life with my sister ever since. I still suffer from PTSD from what I've been through. And, the scars left on my emotional state from my mother playing "favorites" like she did, they're still there. But, they haven't been as prevalent since I've been able to get my life back on track. I still hate her, though. I don't think I will ever stop hating her. My brother died not too long ago by himself, in a homeless camp, via OD. And, good riddance. Don't play "Favorites", people. That's a really good way to wreck your kids in ways you can't FATHOM. Please, let my story be a lesson to anyone who cares to read it. Thanks for making it this far, and putting up with my ramblings.

      Must be hard not to play favorites though. If you were my kid your your brother was also my kid I'd have disowned your brother long ago and kept you. And would have favored you over your brother.

    • @David_Shipley
      @David_Shipley ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Doesn't sound like she was playing favorites, it sounds like she had a troubled son, and didn't know how to help him. Trying to help a troubled son takes a lot of extra attention, so it would seem to the other kids that she's playing favorites. Unless she explicitly said he was the favorite, I'd just assume she was trying to help and didn't know what she was doing. I don't mean to downplay your hurt, but I think forgiving your mother will go a long way to help you recover.

      @nk53nxg ปีที่แล้ว

      You have PTSD from your mothers NPD. She was likely a narcissist. They usually have a targeted person to project hate onto (you), usually the target has qualities they lack like honesty and integrity. Your brother was favoured because he was flawed and bearable in her eyes. People with NPD need a scape goat, they manipulate and gas light the target, they use the target as a psychological punch bag. They also lack self security, which is why they need a whipping boy, they are impossible to argue with as they see themselves as always right and have a high opinion of themselves and lack empathy. They also like to turn others against the target, they can sometimes be highly sociable and convincing to others in the community but not always, this helps them turn others against the target which then justifies their behaviour towards the targer in the eyes of others. In other words she was a toxic person.

    I'm one of seven our parents are religious, they relied on us older ones to look after the younger ones. both parents work full time, nappies making food we did a lot of it. kids shouldn't raise kids, Christmas was fun, lots of birthday cakes and kick ass buffets. we also had a wider range of games we could play. I would never have a lot of kids my self, you cant avoid neglect sadly but my parents did their best since it costs a lot. I know a few other families which have 12,10 and 9 kids. a couple of them don't celebrate birthdays.

    @dotty3825 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah....If you know there is any possibility that you won't be able to build good relations with every one of those children DON'T DO IT.
    I am a child of the family of 12 and I don't even know that much about my parents. They were always busy with something, my dad was the one that worked himself literally to death to earn enough money to feed us and my mother worked in the house. We had financial problems and many emotional problems because we weren't taught many things and had to look after ourselves from a very young age.
    My dad had anger problems and he didn't have time to work on those so we were even sometimes scared of him. He died a few years back and still I don't know how to feel about him as love wasn't even in vocabulary in this family.
    My mother always left all the decisions to my dad so when he died it was hard because she wasn't good at discipline and my youngest sibling just grown into spoiled brats and I hate it but as I am in college far from home I cannot do anything about it. Even worse, if I try to change something, help with taking care of them and giving advices to my mom or my sisters who are at home with them they become angry and tell me I don't live there daily so I shouldn't tell them how to take care of them when I see that they make so many things that caused me the mental and emotional problems I have to deal with to this day.
    Just be a responsible person and don't go blindly into it just because your religion tells you to have as many kids as you can (like my parents did)

    That is SO FAKE! She has 4 kids lined up for nappy change that look like they range from infant to 3 years old. Its highly doubtful that she pumped them out that fast. She would have had to get pregnant again within a month or two of giving birth to the previous baby.
    Despite that, I'd like to give a huge sarcastic Thank you to her and hubby for helping to overpopulate our fragile planet.

    That's absolutely a paternity leave scam lol
    I believe in Norway they get a year or 3 yrs or something paternity/maternity leave every time they have a kid, their companies are basically paying for their lifestyle 🤔🤷‍♂️🤣
    Correct me if I'm wrong by all means.

      Well they did move there from Australia to have their younger kids. If I remember correctly they left when the youngest was around 1.5 or 2

      Used to be similar in the UK, but not for blokes, though it's capped at 3 kids now I think. "Single" mothers would get a house and benefits from the government for each child. Their partners then lived with them for free because the council doesn't have the manpower to prove that they are together in a relationship (therefore NOT a "single" mother). Even some girls back when I was at school would say "I'm just going to have kids" when asked what they will do for a living. Like I said, it is changed now, but that's why you see some women with 6 teenage kids, all to different fathers, in the worst parts of the UK.

    That mum of 10 has such a weird channel. How those kids are raised is almost creepy!! The mother is a control freak and those kids don't know anything outside of their own environment. Their living back in Australia now....
