Here is the link to secure a shuttle to the Mattole Beach trailhead. Blue our shuttle driver was a really valuable source of information for us. lostcoastadventures.com/product/gray-shuttle-9/

Here is the link to check the tide schedule for the impassible zones. Enter “3” into the threshold value.

Saw your post on AllTrails. Nice video! Can this be done in a day? What do you do about transportation back to the beginning?

Thank you! I’ve heard of it being done in a day but the tides in the impassable zone would have to cooperate. You may have to start at an off time to do that. Transportation back to Black Sands can be tricky. I’ve read about hikers doing “key swaps” with other hikers who are hiking the Lost Coast from the opposite direction. I would be cautious about leaving a car at Mattole. There have been reports of break ins there. I bet if you call the shuttle service in the link, they would bring you back. I know they do at least 2 shuttles each day to Mattole from Black Sands. Traditionally, people like the North to South hike because the winds which can be strong are at their backs. Hope this helps and thanks for checking out the video!! Happy trails!
