Rupp wins in 58 and they don’t win again til 78. Hall wins that 78 title and they have 2 final fours in the next 15 years but don’t win another title for 18 years. After the 98 title… 13 years before another final four appearance. They won it the following year, and would go to 2 of the next 3 final fours. Exactly! His own accolades. If he really wanted to win a championship, he would have started Reed Sheppard at point every game! That’s just one small example of his selfishness. Why did Wagner ever start over Sheppard? Sheppard was the best player on the team understanding the court and the X’s and O’s of the game. Made so many more plays than Wagner ever did coming off the bench. 🤦🏼♂️ Cal wants to be known for getting the most players to the NBA and not bringing in trophy’s and banners for the team. I don’t dislike him and wish him the best but I’m glad he’s gone. Now I can’t wait for this Pope squad to sweep those Hogs this coming season so we can show Cal that it’s not just about talent, he got out coached by better coaches with less talent. Coach Pope can actually coach. Look what he was able to do with BYU and the Roster he had. He also had so many limitations as to what type of players he could recruit being that BYU is private religious school sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS.

Also Pole was a Rhodes scholar candidate and was in medical school at Columbia when he got back into coaching a decade ago. He’s brilliant and will out shine Calipari and of course Kentucky is 10 times the program of Arkansas so that’ll take care of itself. Pope is like a Brad Stevens and Cal is a washed up coach who can’t floor coach and has offensive system like it’s 1985. Arkansas is gonna learn the hard way.

Why are you reporting on a player that you know nothing about? His grandfather (Milt Wagner)played and won a national championship at Louisville University under Denny Crum in 1986. His father played for Coach Cal at Memphis. That's the connection. Do the work so your reporting is accurate.

I think DJ would thrive under Mark Pope and the talent Pope has brought in. I think Calipari was just a bad fit for DJ. That happens sometimes and a change of coaches will help him move up and further his chances of going pro.

It seems to be a theme with theses one and done recruits. Now I like Reed but I honestly don’t believe he’s as immature as DJ. I think if he does go pro, he’s going to be bench riding a while. I really like him a ton but would hope he would stay in college somewhere a year longer. It’s really a huge jump to the NBA in everything as fans, we see it. We might not understand it because we want to see guys like Reed succeed.. but now not so much for DJ because of his attitude. Attitude goes a long way and his actions about this and his statement. Don’t think if you are a pro team you want this on your team regardless how good a guy is. Look at LeBum.. no body really wants him because he’s not the greatest of all time. Got out shined by a KY boy with less playing time reed had the passion for his team and where he was playing at many games seemed as if he was only one playing D hustling not to mention his shooting and iq for the game he was only a 4 star id bet cause he was from southern KY a lot of our schools down here don't get publicized like some of the rest only time we got any publicity was when we took down some powerhouse team our school finished my senior yr like 29-8 something like that not bad and a lot of boys at my school didn't even play for the high school team cause of the coach we had a lot of good basketball players on and off the team I remember we done a fundraiser once and played the basketball team in like a pickup game and beat him by 15 points I played the thing is I never played school basketball how was the football player but I loved basketball also point being there's a lot of talent that gets overlooked when giving a chance at UK just sadens me for him would just be putting up great numbers also offense and defense I believe and yet Wagner would be outshined once again

First of all DJ is a ball hog and he can’t finish and really doesn’t shoot well. He’s a typical Calipari athlete who has little skill. Kentucky is in much better shape because they now have a better coach not just a recruiter. Kids are going to want to play in Popes system and Calipari doesn’t have the bang he did years ago because Arkansas isn’t a big draw. They are doing this for PR reasons and it’ll sell tickets. It’ll get them a few NBA players before cal is gone. Calipari is going to play his freshman over any Transfers and if he was going to change he would have done that at Kentucky. He was miserable during his press conference and he tried to back out of the Arkansas move. He leveraged his power against the boosters because he didn’t think UK would replace him. It allowed for the clause in the buyout and Kentucky ditched his ass Arkansas is in for a rude awakening the guy can’t coach and the second Arkansas questions them he’ll tank the seasons. He’s a bad guy always has been and now he’s pissed he’s even there. Cal never dreamed UK would move him out. Ellen is miserable too, her friends were all devastated. They’re where they belong in no man’s land with the bigs. Arkansas isn’t big enough for Cals ego so this should be fun.

As a Louisville fan, glad he went to Kentucky instead of us. For both parties though, he’s NOT a top 10 player. DJ isn’t a fraction of the player his dad was! Cal started him over two better players all season hoping he would get it! He was a shooting guard that couldn’t really shoot, but wanted to play point guard and wasn’t a point guard! He missed enough layups that his average could have been 17-18 a game.
